No Silksong.

I feel bad for those who were hoping for it. Don't feel down people, enough awesomeness to look forward to.

I'm usually not one to trash talk presentations but for me this nindies sucked lol. I wasn't even expecting silksong or anything. Just nothing that interests me

Weird.. thought that an Omori port was already announced way back? Maybe I was just under assumption it would come

So that's it? No smash?

Jokes aside I'm impressed by the sheer diversity of games in this presentation. Even if I don't end up picking any of these up myself it's still really cool to see he variety of experiences all these developers have to offer.

They've patented game mechanics before (see Eternal Darkness sanity system) but I can't think of a time where they've tried to patent a whole bunch of mechanics at once. Might just be due to the new leadership.
The Hypermode mechanic of Metroid Prime 3 was another mechanic they patented. Lots of intresting stuff here.

Amazing presentation! Really inspiring to see so many hard working devs give their A game to the switch.

Did they mention any indie sale?

This was one of the weaker Indie Worlds for my personal tastes but it still had some stuff I am looking forward to. Highlights were Sea of Stars, Omori and Chicory, gotta see more of the completely new announcements.

Yeeesh

A video game play method for use with a video game system including a processor, a display, at least one user input device, and a graphics processor configured to produce animated graphics at least in part in response to the least one user input device for display on the display, the method comprising:
causing said processor to operate with a display, at least one user input device and a graphics processor to:
display a power meter providing a power indication on a single scale;
automatically replenishing the power indication displayed on the single scale by the power meter without requiring user input;
depleting the power indication displayed on the single scale by the power meter based at least in part on game player inputs;
comparing the power indication displayed by the power meter on the single scale to a first predetermined threshold and to a second predetermined threshold different from the first predetermined threshold;
if the power indication is less than the first predetermined threshold, subjecting a game character to a first consequence; and
if the power indication is greater than the second predetermined threshold, subjecting the game character to a second consequence different from said first consequence, wherein the second consequence is an adverse consequence for the game character.

I can think of a number of games that have done similar things to this, this should not have been granted in this form.

My favorite thing about the Indie World presentations are how they focus on games from all over the world, and spotlight a few of the devs. I think that's really cool to get them known and get people excited for their games.

Also, I don't think I can play that fox game. I was almost in tears just watching the trailer. And it's up to me if they make it? What if I suck?! I can't take the pressure!!

Losing Pikmin gets to me, this game would be too much I think lol.

It was, but just mentioned (as were other console-ports). This is like a real confirmation that it comes and that we can expect it next year. Which is real nice!

Was kind of banking on being interested in one of the shadow drops, oh well. Money saved (until the inevitable Holiday Sale, smh…)

Sea of Stars looked excellent. Throwback RPG with modern aesthetics and gameplay sensibilities? Sign me up.

Plus, Mitsuda music?

.... Mitsuda music?

.... oh no

that was the Chrono Cross remake

it wasn't the remake, but it still looked great despite my overwhelming melancholy

Jesters, we have done it again.

Lots of other nice stuff though. I want Sea of Stars now! Looks so pretty and has Mitsuda.

everyone's sad about silksong when sports story is completely mia
We both know Mr. Samushunter that Silksong and Sports Story would more likely be shown at a Nintendo Direct. They'll come when they come.

Hidden content is only available for registered users. Sharing it outside of Famiboards is subject to moderation.

The thing about people expecting Silksong to show up every time a somewhat valid opportunity comes around, is that they are memeing 99.9% of the time. At least I know I am.

Hey Sports Story was announced almost a year later so we can start worrying when Silksong is out for a year. Plus there was a small update on Sports Story like in June, right? That's closer than the last Silksong update, which was last December or January iirc

Basically what I'm saying is that Sports Story has been less mia than Silksong

Ah, like me with Chrono Break.
which I swear to The Entity is gonna be revealed in the January Direct just yall wait and seee

I'm confused. Is Raccoon actually Samus Hunter?

I only wanted Silksong to appear so people can shut up about Silksong not appearing.

Which means even non-hollow knight fans want to see Silksong. The best marketing

Ugh am I gonna have to make the thread then?
Yeah, sorry, couldn't. Besides, it was your thread to make.
Somehow feels like nobody is though. We just learned about a major new gameplay mechanic (aerial acrobatics/shooting) and I feel like nobody is talking about it.
Don't worry, Skittzo. Now that you've sacrificed yourself to the process of thread creation, it'll be newly discovered all across the world wide web.

Fun fact: Nintendo actually patented rooftop party gaming. That's why you never see any rooftop Switch parties in real life.

Sad I know.
Oh, they still occur. you just have to know the right people or places. Buy they're deep underground. You'd be forgiven for thinking they don't exist.

You can't just leak that without context.
Both games are gone, because the devs realized they'd make much better RoI if they combined their efforts to reach more audience.
Bug Story

These indie showcases have been running for years and they rarely if ever touch upon games already announced for the switch (unless there’s DLC or something).

Between that and the fact that Hollow Knight is easily General Direct material at this point, people getting upset about the lack Silksong only have themselves to blame, really.

Woo! Checked eshop for an indie sale, didn’t find any but Ender Lilies is 25% off.

Let’s rock!

Scream. I just told my boyfriend - who loved Hollow Knight! - people are mad because Silksong didn’t show up and he unironically said “I don’t know what that is.”

It’s over for Team Cherry!

But no this is exactly why it’ll be in a regular Direct, they need as many eyes on it as possible and it’ll be a big “ooh” moment for people who aren’t extremely online.

Moe like "ignored" opportunity. Toshihiro Nagoshi made sure none of the "adult" games didn't appear on Switch: Yakuza, Sakura Wars, Vanquish...
Is (actually 'was' now) Nagoshi really the only one who could make that call? I presume SEGA had a say in the matter also.
