God I am so glad I am not a parent every time Christmas rolls around. The deals site I follow is listing PS5s available online...in £500-650 bundles that won't deliver until December 31st at the earliest. I'm imagining parents having to explain to little Timmy that yes, Santa has also been affected by the chip shortage so can't make as many next gen consoles this year.
Obviously they’ll buy switches instead when they realize it’s a better fit

I spent a year applying to hundreds of places that ignored me so I started teaching myself blender to have something to do each day. Also luckily for me my parents have a treadmill.

But eventually something came around that worked. Just gotta be patient.
How IS Blender? I’m a Maya guy (though I will always shed a tear thinking about how autodesk massacred my boy XSI) but every time I hear about Blender it sounds like it has gotten significantly better over the years since the time I used it in like 2011 and it was bad

But Little Timmy watched the Game Awards and has been duped by an industry in denial. The rot has set in and he won’t touch Nintendo until Chris Pratt makes Mario cool.

Blender is now around 2010-11 ish 3DS Max interface wise, and definitely way better than the last time I used it around that time(my modding era was from 2010-2015 using primarily 3ds max 09 or 11 I think?). It’s what I made my avatar in

As someone who used 3DS Max in a professional context in around 2012/2013: while I was never a fan of 3DS Max, that does sound like a pretty big improvement over where it was in 2011.

Nintendo better rip off the band-aid soon and tell me whether I won't be able to watch the Nindies live tomorrow or Wednesday.

Blender is pretty easy to use and can be very powerful if you know what you're doing, the main problem is that it's updated so frequently that the thousands of tutorials that pop up for each version occasionally become either wildly confusing or outright obsolete as soon as the next version drops.

One of the core parts of Maya that makes it so popular is that the UI hasn’t changed significantly in 20 years because people would lose their shit if it did. In a sense I’m glad Blender isn’t afraid to change things, because woof does Maya have some deep rot (lmao). But also: changing stuff? If you’re using Blender for like, work, that’d be mega frustrating.

I am thinking of shelving SMTV for a bit so I can player Persona 5 Strikers. I am 34 hours into SMTV and the grind is wearing me down. I love the game but I think I need a break. I bought P5S at launch but I never played more than an hour of it because I ended up getting pretty sick last spring and having issues regulating my blood sugar for a period of time. I kind of want to get back into that game.

There's a common misconception that I get insulted or harassed a lot because I'm a woman. But that's simply not true. Most people in the gaming community have been very kind and respectful to me.

One time, Resetera tallied up every insider's rumors to see how accurate each person was. Over an entire decade, almost 90% of the stuff I reported turned out accurate. So, in my opinion, I have nothing to prove to people. I don't care what people think of me. I have a family and a well-paying job. I'm very happy with my life, and I have very little regrets.

If people like SamusHunter want to pretend to be me, then I'm flattered.
I hope these fake leakers don’t taint your enjoyment of visiting famiboards and era. You’re a joy to have in a thread on here.

If you're using it for work you can always just choose not to update your current version (at least for the duration of your project I guess?) but yeah it can get frustrating to find options and buttons and whatnot in completely different places.

However, can anyone explain me why Square Enix is releasing 4 game in the span of 2 weeks ?
Triangle Strategy : 04/03/2022
Babylon's fall : 03/03/2022
Chocobo GP : 10/03/2022
Strangers of Paradise : 18/03/2022
Those fortunately hit a wide spectrum of interests so while they're clearly trying to backload their earnings report it should be fine.

All this FF9 content in ChocoboGP....................
remake is coming
It's going to be a great day on the internet if 1) The remake is real and is closer to a Trials of Mana in scope and 2) Is a full game and none of this episodic garbage 3) it's a remake not a "reimagining" unlike a certain other "remake" (ie. traditional ATB combat) ...

I have my tinfoil hat theory that FF9 remake is (timed) Switch exclusive. Nintendo years ago talk with Square demanding an exclusive mainline FF RPG and they offered them the idea of making a “high budget” remake of FFIX (not as high as FFVII but more than Trials of Mana).

FFIX is the one of the PS1/2 entries with more cartonish/stylish style and has a medieval setting like early FF games. Its the most “Nintendo aesthetic” game of them.

I would be very surprised that nintendo paid to get (timed) exclusive mainline DQ and MH games but not Final Fantasy. (And also Resident Evil but we know that something is or was coming haha).
... 4) it's a Switch timed console exclusive (which is a reach)

FFIX art style would actually work pretty well with a Trials of Mana style remake since the visuals were already trying to approximate the "super deformed" art style of the 8/16-bit era games.

But seriously, if this thing is real, there is going to be a lot of howling on the Internet that day. It will be glorious.

Why wait for Mario Kart 9 when this game exists.

I think their FY ends on March 31, 2022 so they want those out in this FY.

Haven’t been here since era and can’t believe I forgot about the obligatory December Indie World, for shame

Square's multiple releases in March is actually going to be part of a 'Late Winter, Early Spring of Adventure' promotion, a reference to their 2000 Summer of Adventure which included the release of Legend of Mana (recently remastered), Chrono Cross, and Threads of Fate. 🤔

there you go

But I need it now. Nintendo disappoints yet again.

Excited for World of Horror to leave early access and shadow drop on Switch! And more realistically, excited to see some cool new things I've never heard of but will suddenly want.

shovel knight pocket dungeon getting a lot of good buzz ... just might need to pick it up even though i dont have much gaming time this week.

Don't forget Outriders and Balan Wonderland.

XIV seems to be doing quite alright so they're probably fine.
Well yea, Square Enix is always fine, but they are never satisfied with just fine. I am wondering which developer of theirs they throw under the bus next as a scape goat for the poor sales.

Kinda crazy to think 2 companies control most of EU’s game production/publishing (Ubisoft and Embracer(Koch))

Well I guess it’s less likely but not impossible for an NSO update announced today XD

World of Horror has probably become my most wanted update/announcement even over Silksong.

Yaaay Nindies let's go!!
I hope theres atleast one suprise game I never expected to see and like just like Gnosia last time!

Yep, it's one of my most wanted indies. I want more novel horror ideas and in games in general, stuff like WoH as well as things inspired by the original Clock Tower. It's weirdly effective, I find!

I'm also really looking forward to Dark Deity coming to Switch, but I believe they've said that'll be next year. Maybe we'll get a date tomorrow.

Listen, I have a fantasy theory.
What if FF9 Remake was made by Team Asono? It has a medieval setting that would suit Team Asono well, they are currently working on DQ3 HD Remaster and they are making some GOOD video games. What if Square Enix wanted to give them an higher budget by working on a known series and recreating one of the most beloved games from that series...
Thus the game would release on every platform, with the Switch as the main platform.

It's a good theory and I would love it to be true, though Team Asano is currently working on Triangle Strategy, DQIII and Octopath 2, that's a lot. Granted all of those are presumably handled by different dev teams, and FFIX could be from yet another one. It would also tie to the FF4 remake legacy, that'd be neat. It's definitely the kind of project I want more of, instead of Forspoken or FFXVI and all that.

You know, this Chocobo GP release date thing. Why couldn’t that have been announced at TGA? Too “kiddie”?

But do I get a backpack if I buy all of them?

Also, if they don’t remaster Threads of Fate after Chrono Cross that feels like a missed opportunity.

Hmmm has Fantasian’s Apple Arcade exclusivity lapsed yet?
Don’t do this to me man.

(I would do terrible things for even Terra Battle 1 & 2 to end up on Switch)

man, if I had known I was going to act so embarrassingly on my twitter account today I maybe wouldn't have revealed my identity

I don't know, but this reminds me - I have 3 months free with a product I bought 30 days ago and they're already sending me reminders that I have to claim it because it "expires soon!!!!" (90 days after purchase). I'm planning to use it after I clear my current backlog to play everything currently on there that I want - mostly Fantasian.

I'd like to make something clear for anybody who casually follows samushunter and/or this thread

we've been saying there would be an indies show this month all year. a december indie world is a very easy guess. don't listen to anyone trying to leverage that guess to gain credibility

I'm not sure if I'm right, but there is also a bravely default mobile game and they might be working on it too. Yes it seems like a lot of games but I don't know of anyone else on Square who could work on it they are busy with FFXVI and FF7r part 2.

Octopath 2 is certainly a thing but it wasn't in the GeForce leak so I have a feeling that we won't see it in a near futur.

there you go

Come on Nintendo. Silksong release date, Sports Story, or Ollie Ollie World shadow drop (I think it’s still scheduled for winter this year so would make sense).

Even if none of the above show up, there’s always some cool stuff I end up liking.

The hardest part is when you guess which week of December is it .Someone like Samus Hunter couldn't never do that. But yeah an indie world in december is a very easy guess

OK so Fantasian was released in 2 parts, one releasing in April and one in August. Apple Arcade games have typcially had a 6 month exclusivity window. Shinsekai was released September 19th 2019 on Apple Arcade, and March 26th 2020 on Switch, as an example. Exit the Gungeon was around the same timeframe.

Fantasian COULD conceivably release in February using this math, so I think that's totally something that could be here.

I think Apple Arcade games are a great place to look to find some games that COULD come to Switch eventually, especially around 6 months after their AA release. For example I think Clap Hanz Golf could show up too.

Why do I feel like its been over a year since the game came out. I always thought Apple Arcade launched with Fantasian.
