I spent some time fixing a few navigation mechanics, including the ever-useful Gap Dash and basic concepts like multiple floor heights on a 2D canvas — so look out for nods to that too!

y’all, I have to come clean. I did not start writing the soundtrack to Grögol Bonanza expecting to use slap bass.

but it snuck its way in there. it infested the whole damn thing. and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

You know I'm a fan of Mitsuda and Senoue. Unexpected bass is one of my favorite music tropes.
 
i can’t wait until I can share more of my wife’s game / soundtrack with y’all.

my music for Grögol Bonanza is more deliberate and direct than I sometimes tend to be — but the music A’s writing feels like each layer of goo in my body being gently picked apart and separated. it’s dreamy, tense, emotional, and compelling. the opening track in the first area makes me cry when the bass comes in. they’re really knocking it out of the park.

that’s it, that’s the post. I love my wife! they are my world!!

see, I’m normally a smidge of a hater. it’s powerful, but can really be overwrought! but in all my stubborn pride, I still fell prey to its perfect driving charm.

someday I’ll get good at real slap bass instead of just keyboarding it… my fingers just hate functioning swiftly / not hurting so bad

Failed my knowledge test today. Was honestly bummed out for a little while. I needed 40 correct answers out of 50 questions; I got 18 right and 12 wrong and I was failed immediately after the 12th wrong answer. Did the math and it definitely goes by ratio. I made another appointment for the 8th and I studied as soon as I got home. I'll definitely pass next time, bet on it!! 😤

Aside from that, I had another successful workout, today. I got up to 74 pulls before resting and getting to 100. I'm starting to get used to the extra weight, but I don't think I'll be adding another one for a while, at least not until I do 100 pulls with ease. I've been thinking of incorporating different types of exercises to my routine and which days I can/should do them. I'd do the other weight lifts I've got in the basement, but..... I broke them.

Almost 11 years ago, my parents were going out of town for vacation and I was supposed to stay at my cousin's house for the weekend. I had the keys to our house and the backdoor wasn't barricaded, so I snuck in through the back with my cousins after they left and we went to the basement to workout. We pulled on the weights to hard and some of gym set broke. It still works, even today, just not as good as it used to..... whoops 😅

Right now, I'm just waiting for about a half hour after my workout, so I can eat my dinner. After that, I'll watch some Getter Robo, then off to bed. Gotta work early tomorrow and it's an all day shift.

Does anyone else randomly get the music from Namco's 1986 smash hit Mappy-Land stuck in their head or is it just me?
 
I wanted to buy Another Code Recollection and Apollo Justice Collection today, but I ultimately held off to save money. Besides, I'm expecting my copy of Persona 3 Reload in the mail next week, so I wouldn't have had enough time to finish either, anyway. Still haven't finished Pokemon White, btw! 😭😔😭 This weekend FOR SURE!!!!

Miyamoto makes sense cause it's the building site for Mario & DK in Florida. But Aonuma? Seems there's even more smoke now to that rumor of Universal pitching a Zelda land to Nintendo.

out of curiosity, are you in Canada? or the US maybe? I never heard it in the US but I think I remember Canadian friends saying it

not trying to be intrusive at all, just really have an interest in differences between US / Canada / regions within names for things… like how Secretary of State / DMV / Service Ontario / etc etc etc are all so different

I'm in the US. Don't know what they call it over at Canada, but the states use the DMV. Though, in my state, it's called the MVC.
