After P4AU came true I bet the P3Fes and P4G rumors are on the money.
P5R is probably locked out forever though.
What rumour? Was it specific about which version of Persona 3?

I see, thanks for the reply. Would you recommend playing SMT primarily to experience the story and otherworldly style? One has , the other does not.
... Also, from what I understand (havent played the former), certain thematic focus like social relationships btwn characters (Persona) vs moral philosophy (SMT). Gameplay focus diverges greatly due to thematic focus, ie the "social sim" becomes a major focus in Persona.

It’s obvious what Atlus is doing.
They are porting the lesser titles for two reasons.
1 - gain experience to be used on the main games
2 - build interest in the brand on the platform prior to the release of the main games.
They are probably working to port 3, 4, and 5 and the more experience they have on switch the better they will be and the more brand awareness they build on switch prior to release the more they will sell.
Chill guys, they are coming.
Atlus doesn't need to "gain experience". They aren't new kids on the block and Switch isn't some exotic platform or whatever. come on now. Plus, brand awareness isn't necesary either. Testing the waters on a series like Persona? Lol. And even if this was the case, your point doesn't matter anyway because I don't see said games on PS$/PS5/Xbox either. It's just a case of Atlus being Atlus. It’s obvious what Atlus is doing.

Story no, otherworldly style definitely yes.
Fes basically but with extras. It's been rumored for Steam for a loooong time (alongside P4G before that released) but recently resurfaced as a NSW/PS4/Steam release along with P4G for NSW/PS4 and P4U for NSW/PS4/Steam.What rumour? Was it specific about which version of Persona 3?

Thank you both for the replies. I can't say I've ever had the patience to complete a massive JRPG before, and I've heard SMTV is a pretty difficult one at that (unless you play on easy), but the game looks so different from anything else I've ever played that I'm tempted to give it a try.@efyu_lemonardo even on story Im going to say, maybe. If we are strictly talking about SMT as a series, I really enjoyed SMT4's story for instance.
I have heard however that SMTV has disappointed series regulars on the story front (I have my copy but havent jumped in yet).
Most likely, for me personally, it will be fine precisely because:
a) presentation, the SMT ruined/twisted world style/environment/vibe is on-point
b) my enjoyment of SMT is not so much about the human characters, who exist to give a face to some moral archetype IMO, but more about the demons who themselves exude personality since you are constantly interacting w them (not just fighting with/against!) In and out of battle and their agency drives plot

It'll definetely not skip OG Switch tho. It's not like it's gonna be a super duper graphical showcase or open world game to be impossible to make on the Switch.Persona 4 in 2008 made better sense than trying to program a game for PS3 at the time which was... not doing so hot anyways at the time.
Persona 5 was already promised for PS3, but it still saw simultaneous release on PS4.
The next Nintendo hardware inevitably being not being as powerful as PS5 and selling like trash means a release on PS4 and the next Nintendo hardware sounds about right and consistent with their pattern to me.
Exactly. Moreso when the spin off of 5 is actually its sequel. I played P5 on the PS3 and will probably play Strikers on the Switch. Strikers did well, P4AU will probably do great and even be the best selling version. I think a version of 5 will come eventually. Whenever it comes it'll be at the very least 5 years after the original release, so if there was a Sony timed exclusive deal it for sure has gone already. It's just Atlus is weird with multiplat and ports,It’s obvious what Atlus is doing.

Oh when was this? I definitely don't remember thatYes.
Someone on Era leaked Persona Suplex, P3, P4G and P5 for Switch back in September. I don’t think the games are coming to Xbox though.
Persona Suplex? What is that and when did this happen lol?Yes.

The japanese name of second P4A isPersona Suplex? What is that and when did this happen lol?
Oh I see lol.The japanese name of second P4A is
Persona 4: The Ultimax Ultra Suplex Hold
I saw the screenshots posted on Twitter the other day. The Era posts were from September by a guy with a Wario avatar.Oh when was this? I definitely don't remember that
Yeah this seems too good to be true. Would LOVE more details. This would be my literal dream.Yes.

Probably a lucky guess. Don’t have best expectations regarding mainline Persona games on Switch.Yes.

Suplex I guess mean 4 Arena Ultimate, right?Yes.

It's so incredibly frustrating. I just have to ignore Atlus because I just don't understand what's going on. People seem to get so touchy about "port-begging" and other video game-related discussion on platforms for discussing video games.
Same with SMT being exclusive for no reason too. It's dumb.
Oh well. Atlus can't disappoint me if I don't let them.
Which is crazy because the "portability factor" is the only reason I was able to beat P4G.I like to think both Sony and Nintendo paid to keep the current Persona and SMT exclusives, cause that's the only reason why this would make any sense. It's such a bizarre situation, consumers willing to spend, and the company refusing to give them the product, i don't think i've ever seen this elsewhere.
It probably is a cultural thing, the "we think we know better" about the platforms you should play our games on.
I say that cause with SMT V they specifically said in interviews, Switch was chosen as the platform because of the portability factor.
I played P5 on PS4 and P5R on PS5 but only once each. I played P4G 4 times because it was portable. I’d like to go through P5R again or even a Switch version of P4G.Which is crazy because the "portability factor" is the only reason I was able to beat P4G.
Games like Persona 5 Strikers or Persona 4 Ultimax don't build brand awareness, they sell on brand awareness. These are fan service titles aimed squarely at existing fans of these games that are completely ill suited for newcomers to make their first contact with Persona 4(/3) or 5. That's precisely why it's so weird that Atlus keeps releasing spin offs on Switch but doesn't seem to show any interest in bringing the mainline games to it.It’s obvious what Atlus is doing.

I strongly doubt it, somehow.i marked down 'never'... but seeing how the ps5 is turbobombing the playstation brand in japan, i think perhaps persona 6 will be a switch game and that atlus might shift gears in general to get the series on a platform with an audience.

Atlus will release it as a PS4 game in 2027 instead of just releasing it on a Nintendo console.i marked down 'never'... but seeing how the ps5 is turbobombing the playstation brand in japan, i think perhaps persona 6 will be a switch game and that atlus might shift gears in general to get the series on a platform with an audience.
I'd hope they reuse the SMTV demons because like 190 of the 214 demons in V are Persona 5 models in the first place.Considering Atlus started making MegaTen games on the PS2 after the PS1 remakes of mainline SMT and Kartia (after SMT was originally solely on Nintendo platforms before that; they even flirted with SEGA at one point with Ronde and Soul Hackers) and stuck specifically with the PS2 through SMT3, DDS1, DDS2, Persona 3, Persona 3: FES, Raidou 1, Raidou 2, Maken Shao, Stella Deus (hey, remember that game?) and Persona 4; I can certainly see history repeating itself (except this time with cross-gen between Persona 6 going between Switch and PlayStation platforms). Atlus have swapped platforms before. P-Studio may be making P6 on UE4 for all we know and use the demons from SMT5 to cut down on dev time.
Before it became a 3DS game, SMT4 was originally going to be a mobile game.
Rule nothing out. Atlus are weird like this.
