also, only 12 of the tracks are playable in Classic mode, per the badge description. I guess the Grand Prix championship courses are cut out again which is unfortunate, no classic Fire Field or White Land II or Silence

They did say "More updateS" when they added the last bunch of courses, so I guess the option to add those in later is always there 🤔
 
Yeah, classic mode feels way faster for sure, I think it also explains why I'm setting new time records as well. Seems kind of sloppy tbh for people who care about records (edit: oops I was wrong about the stats, they're separate, which also seems to prove it's faster)

Also thinking it's just kind of a dud overall, as expected none of the dynamicism of collecting sparks, spin attacking people, managing your boost/health. Once you're in your race position you're pretty stuck there.

I dunno, it seems pretty intentional to me considering they've been kept out of all the other modes. Maybe they'd go in an exclusive Super Pro Tracks mode eventually?

huh, neat. Tbh I didn't have hope for new tracks so that'd be cool. Personally I really want offline splitscreen mode but that seems like especially a longshot

Having a lot of fun with the Classic mode. 20 players and no comeback mechanics are just scratching that F-Zero itch more for me. Feels a lot more like what I wanted, personally, even without Boost Power or attacking.

Now if only there was a full game like that with Boost Power, attacks, and more than 15 tracks, that'd be nice.

Also, the new credits song slaps. Can't wait for the eventual remix in a future Smash since they'll finally have a new F-Zero to pull from
Would be kinda funny that the first non-SNES remix for F-Zero in Smash would be the game that's basically just SNES again

I wasn't expecting it to be THAT good when I read there was a new credits song, honestly.

They only removed 4 files. 2 of them are Forest.
There's a lot of unused content and they're still there 99% of them lol


Ah interesting update.

Well if they do a physical release when the game is content complete like Tetris 99 I'll be there to scoop it immediately. That's my assumption of how it'll go at least.

I think they did "Classic replaces pro tracks" for the first couple hours, at least.

btw on the topic of "new" F-Zero music I came across this channel that's making authentic sounding tracks for the extra courses in the game and the BS courses, some of it is catchy as hell and makes me wish they did go all out doing something like this while they had the opportunity

It's nice to use something other than the Goose.

I really like the mode, by the way.

First Top 1 in this game, regardless of any modes. I really couldn't get there ever until now.
And I finally finished King League once and unlocked Fire Field, a good day.
 
OK, some light tinfoil hat time. If there's gonna be an unknown "event" that ends on January 17th, maybe that gives us a window for when the Q1 direct is? Shadowdrop F-Zero 99 dlc there and have an event to celebrate its launch

Nah I think it is gonna be a twitter drop...though 2024 anything can happen!
 

Well that explains the Death Wind track in the last update!
(EDIT: Turns out that didn't explain the unused icy Death Wind track in the last update, there's probably gonna be more frozen tracks, or they just thought it was too different)

The Death Wind I Remix track is removed from the game files, and anyway it is different from what's used here as "Winter" tracks as they are referred to internally.
The Remix version would be absolutely bonkers if they make it playable.
 
played one race before work this morning to check out the new effects and loving that snow fall.
Has anyone played Death Wind with snow?
If so, does the snow blow properly in the direction the wind is blowing?

Honestly, if the game got people to renew their NSO subs for an entire year, even if they only played for a month, it's probably a success in their eyes.

Hey it was part of my Year in Review this year with 35 hours.
I totally am a relevant demographic so it can't be a flop.
 
Since we had Frozen Knight League (Tracks with ice, reindeer bumpers) I'm going to guess that we'll have Extreme Queen League (Tracks with extra ramps, bumpers wearing helmets) and Attractive King Leagues (Tracks with extra magnet zones, sexy bumpers)
