I did an interview before Thanksgiving break for a job that pays 50k a year with the possibility of further raises in the future (I aimed for the lowest pay of the position).

It's a local county job and I'm quite excited for it! But of course, there's no guarantees that I'll get it. But even so, the job interview went well and now I'm waiting for their reply now that Thanksgiving break is over. I've sent another email as well to them, just in case.

If I don't get this job, then I'll consider utilizing a group that helps Autistic people get good-paying jobs.

Also, if anyone has any advice for me, especially as an Autistic person finishing university and getting a good-paying job, then please, I'm all ears.

I use a password manager that inputs passwords for me which saves me about 4 hours in the online game buying process
 
Not that I didn’t expect this, but all those Level 5 games are like a year or more out. Loved the thought back around announcement they would all release this year, lol (which was promoted by Level 5 mind you). Let’s hope these releases help them get back to what they were so to speak.

I feel (maybe this is just my biased memories from the time) that this game is primarily associated with GameCube so should be coming to Switch and Ubisoft is pretty good about supporting switch even if it is more specific types of games.

I still need to watch both the Sonic movies. I missed my chance when they were both on Hulu. I could rent them but I'm cheap. Looks like the second movie is "free" with Amazon Prime at least.

I have beaten persona 4 golden. It’s games like these is why I love gaming. It’s just so good and special. The characters and story are so memorable. I’m gonna have to do a new game plus once I beat some other games I’m behind on now I solved my hand issue. I’m playing a game of catch up and I bought some stuff from Black Friday.

Red dead redemption is my next game. I haven’t played it since beating it on the ps3

shadow the hedgehog is like JNCO jeans and a wallet chain were made into a human and then someone on deviantart in 2002 made fanart turning that human into a hedgehog. Shadow is a triumph in corniness. I am genuinely impressed they managed to make one character that corny.

He's an underrated character.

Growing up, I heard nothing but scorn for Shadow and how Knuckles was a "better rival" than, well, Shadow.
 
Shadow is paradoxically the best and worst thing humanity has ever created. That movie is probably going to kill us all.

I have zero stake in him as a character in the realm of Sonic characters, I just think he’s hilarious. He’s got the exact same energy as Todd Flanders saying “I don’t want any damn vegetables.“

He’s also a mascot character aimed at 8 year olds so I’d say he’s just about perfect

Oh for sure! He’s like, the perfect “bad boy” character for people under 10 years old. He was when I was like 10! But now I look at him for what he is: a cornball try-hard wack ass character who I cannot take seriously in the slightest. Now, he’s just hilarious. I won’t see the new movie but I hope Sonic and friends treat him like an actual bad boy and all the human characters are like “lmao look at this angsty dude. look at this deviantart lookin’ bozo”

I don’t think Shadow gets too corny until his self titled game, you can tell after Sega gave him guns they didn’t know what else to do with the character

I still say they should put in him classic-styles games so people in their 40s get really mad

Reading you describing him made me realize that Shadow is actually the Chris Evans character from Scott Pilgrim and that's perfect

Because after that, i got a message that a years-long friend from my social club passed away yesterday night.
Mind you, he was fighting cancer which was already metastatic, and i'm kinda ... glad ... that it didn't take long and that he didn't have to endure too much suffering .... but it still sucks.
I've been in that club since i was 16, so we knew each other for 23 years and even sat next to each other every week in the club meetings.

I'm sorry for your loss. I went through almost the same scenario early this year with a roommate from college days who had a brain tumor - and even though you know it's good that they didn't suffer much and it's over with, that doesn't make it any easier. Cancer sucks.

I haven't played in years but it's a shame. This game was pretty fun and in terms of gacha, it was pretty fair as well. You got all the characters for free just buy playing the story and doing events. You pulled for weapons and armor and even then, you didn't really need the best stuff to get through the game. Plus they gave you a ton of free pulls all of the time. Terrible news for game preservation.

That's sort of the problem lol.

It's not an individual thing, this is the legacy that game has left behind, you don't need to apologise for it.

On a wider note, these things persist for a reason, it's just how it is. I think at this point I'm just tired of it - whether it be something small like Shadow edgy jokes or wider things like Paper Mario discourse, Zelda cycles etc.

It's nothing exclusive to this forum or anywhere else, mind.

Interesting.

It seems when I focus on one video game at a time (rather than, say, four at a time), I play more "play time" than I would've if I had played all four of the currently "open" video games that I have right now.

Fascinating.

It seems that focusing on just one video game and leaving the Steam Deck on for the whole day increases my "play time" for that day as well.

Thus, I may complete Elden Ring before the year is over.

The thing is it’s always the really old people who make Shadow jokes

If someone was 10 when SA2 came out they would be in their 30s by now

Sonic discourse in general is often driven by people who don’t engage with the post-Genesis material, and don’t seem to realize millions of fans got into the series later
 
Can we have a month inbetween November and December where we just...decompress? No travel plans, no holidays, no work, not even games, just time to putter around, do some errands, take care of laundry, clean the kitchen and bathroom, meal prep, all that crap?

I can feel the burnout manifesting as a physical knot in my stomach and I am just so, so, so very exhausted

Wait a sec. I thought Canadians had the break month between thanksgiving and the end of the year holidays! For, Halloween to New Years is jam packed because of family B days as well. Just nonstop so I can sympathize.

I dunno about most Canadians but my November has been packed full of nonsense (and that's just on top of everything else 2023 has been shitting on me from up high 🙃)

Given the chance to hit a button and re-roll the odds of 2023 I'd probably hit it.
