Yeah, people figured out some of the demons from the silhouettes it seems. I like the theory that Imu is themed after the Umibozu:
From Wikipedia:
Normally,
umibōzu appears to sailors on calm seas which quickly turn tumultuous. It either breaks the ship on emergence or demands a bucket or barrel from the sailors and proceeds to drown them.
Oh snap! I actually posted elsewhere a few months ago how I thought for sure Imu was going to be an Umibozu and gave some evidence too,
l'll repost it here:
- The myths of Umibozu already exist in One Piece. Ussop mistook Wadatsume for one, and we may even have seen a few in Thriller Bark. And As Vegapunk said.....if people belive in a concept, the concept can manifest itself as a fruit.
- While we havent seen Imus design, what he have seen so far looks similar to many depections of Umibozu. The creatures at the end of thriller bark are thought to be Umibozu, which resemble how Imu has been shown. All blacked out with the only distinct feature being the eyes, some depections even giving them red eyes like we know Imu has from the anime.
- Imu refers to himself as "MU", which translations pointed out could mean dream or void...but could also refrence the
Lost City of Mu, a mythologial lost city said to be another name or equiviant for Atlantis.
Mu just happens to be the setting of many HP Lovecraft stories featuring eldritch beings like Cthuhulu and other cosmic horror beings which all have similar themes/ideas to depections of the Umibozu.
- The world Umibozu means "Sea Preist", which ties into the religious/god theming of the Celestial Dragons (For example...Gods Knights)
- An Umibozu is capable of "turning calm seas tumultous"...which is exactly what Imu just did! Causing flooding and earthquakes and rising sea levels all across the world by destroying Lulucia

I like the idea so I'm glad to see it may actually happen after the latest chapter
