They keep saying Nintendo Switch has games, but nobody ever asks if games has Nintendo Switch.

Cocoon is pretty interesting!

You carry globes around levels to activate stuff, but the globes themselves also contain levels you can warp to. So you warp in and out of the globes/levels to solve puzzles. And yep, you can warp into a globe while carrying another globe, nesting one level inside of another

After beating the first world, yeah, Mario Wonder is pretty great. I think it’ll easily beat out all of the New series and be the best 2D entry since Mario World. Seems unlikely it’ll beat that or Mario 3 for me, but who knows!

Completely missed this announcement and I don't know if people talked about it, but Salt and Sacrifice is getting a Switch (and also Steam) release!

I really enjoyed Salt and Sanctuary, so I am looking forward to playing this, eventually.

I might have to give this a try! I bounced off Salt and Sanctuary a while back, I think mostly due to the color pallet and the game feel. But I always meant to go back to it at some point, since it seems like it’d be my kind of game.

I didn't even know that the game came out already and then I saw that it was an EGS exclusive on PC...

That explains it.

The game was apparently also more of a MH style game then a Souls like as the original was, which rubbed people the wrong way.

i have a somewhat general question. Does the pro controller normally play sound?
HD Rumble turns sound waves into rumbles β€” meaning you can imply sound in a very cool way

so shit will likely sound like sound, and if you leave it on a hard surface you can get a pretty clear impression of the core sound

I have beaten Mario wonder. Haven’t this joy about a Mario game since playing 64 as a child.

I’m excited for my banjo replay tomorrow for the Halloween challenge. I always considered that to be my favorite game.

I’m looking for a new avatar now that I don’t need the anime girl anymore. I am officially retiring the horse.

Time to make dinner and watch one of my subbed shows while my kit glue dries(just 2 parts need it)

A different anime girl then!

Me after 100% finishing Mario Wonder: I have nothing left, except Spider-Man…

I’m excited to play Spider-Man!
I have to put it down for the night, but I just got to World 3 and it looks incredible. One complaint they definitely addressed from the New series was the same-y worlds we’ve seen a million times before (forest, ice, lava, etc.).

Yeah I really dug the world variety here, it just feels so great seeing Mario aim higher again in the 2D space after we became stuck with New Super Mario Bros 17 years ago. I love the New Super games, but we really needed a refresh.

It’s great to see. There’s still a lot of the New Super DNA in this game, but the best way I can describe it is that they sort of mixed that with Mario Odyssey DNA - the excellent creativity, more unusual worlds and levels, and extra visual pop that that game had.

After spending the weekend playing Super Mario Wonder, I think 2023 is now my favourite year of Nintendo Switch so far. Beating 2017 imo (Which was a fantastic launch year)

Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
Super Mario Wonder
Pikmin 4
Pikmin 1&2 HD
Advance Wars 1+2 Reboot Camp
Detective Pikachu Returns
Kirby: Return to Dreamland Deluxe
Metroid Prime Remastered
Multiple title DLC drops

We also have Wario Ware Move It and Super Mario RPG to come as well! I know some will dismiss a lot of these as they were remasters/remakes but you can’t argue those titles above being released in a single calendar year makes it stand out as one of Switch’s best ever.

Oh man, why is it monday again. I had like ... only 25% of my weekend ... why can't i have the other 75% now?

There's even a LEGO Karl Marx.

The Irony is strong.

(I know the quote is from the little Osborne, but replacing the three 7s works better with JJJ.)

I've been thinking about this as well lately and also think 2023 is my favourite year of Nintendo. For me this also has to do with the fact that there have been some great games on Switch this year that are not exclusive to the console but that I played on Switch, such as Octopath Traveler II and Sea of Stars.

this is the week, everyone

I'm so envious of you people who get to play Spider-Man

Though Mario Wonder will occupy my time for quite a while lol

You know, been in the city on saturday, shopping with the Mrs. and the eldest (aka i was carrying bags) and ... it's kinda hitting your motivation that despite losing 14kg over the year already, there's still stuff where XL is too thin. And i'm not even that big and round.

Can anyone give me a game tip? My gf enjoys chill games like The Sims (which is her all time favorite game). She does not care at all for games with any kind of pressure or anxiety building (she noped out of the tutorial stage in Overcooked 2), so I was looking for coop stuff to play with her, any suggestions?
I have animal crossing, but we don't see each other everyday and her not being used to a controller makes it a bad game to play every once in a while.

Living my non-existant PS5-life through the posts of others lmao. Spider-man 2 looks so good!

Maybe something like Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, Snipperclips or Haven then?
I'll check out Haven, never played, don't know if it will peak her interest, but isn't it like a RPG? I feel something less continuous that we can play sometimes and not get involved into a long campaign better atm.
The other two I'll get the demos and see how she gels with them.
Thanks for the suggestions.

Given your username… How about board games?

Otherwise, point & click adventures or visual novels or walking sims can be done co-op with one person driving and both participants actively suggesting things to try. Those usually don’t have a lot of time pressure or if they do you could probably take the wheel for those segments.

I hope an indie world drops soon. It's been ages.

November hopefully.
might happen, might not

but this? this is the week

We play board games too. It's just to have a option of something more plug & play.

I hope the next NSO n64 game is Mario party 3. And that it’s in time for the holidays together with my sisters XD definitely doing some solo play tho

Well I think the obvious answer is that it hasn't sold 10 million copies yet lol
Not conclusive evidence by any means but that watermelon game was ahead of Wonder on the JP eShop last I checked (saturday) and that just crossed 2 million sales.
