Things have definitely been overtuned this patch. Enjoy that state while it lasts.

I love it when I play Tri Stringer, but hate it the other 90% when I'm not playing it. There is no reason for a weapon that's all about displacement and map control should be able to kill like it does.

For a straight answer, I don't play Tri Stringer and don't run into enough of them to have noticed anything yet. Actually, I haven't run into any since the balance update. So if the weapon did get buffed too hard, not many people have gotten wind of it yet.

Before the patch Tri Stringer was always a fun, fair match-up whenever I was on one of the H-Splatlings or on Explosher. Either side could outplay the other. No comparison to the absolute bodying Chargers regularly inflict on me.

Why yes I main Booyah Bomb, how did you know?

It definitely feels too good/OP now.

Had a Clam Blitz overtime end yesterday! It was actually a really hype match, we were attacking and defending equally with no one getting a clam the whole time. Ended up winning the coin toss, luckily.

Very few things in the game can make me as angry as Barnacle & Dime does 😡
What a POS, truly awfully designed map. I really can't comprehend how someone came up with it and said "this is good, let's put it in the game." 🤯
Losing feels awful and winning isn't fun here.

Also, is there a meme currently going on where people just don't participate? I'm very tired of reporting people constantly and wasting time.

My last 6 matches tonight have had people like that.

Upon rewatch, I forgot how terribly I played 😭 So please watch one of my teammates instead lol

Code is R90L RY73 QG33 N5EA

I've realized the season updates often feel disappointing because they focus on certain parts (new main weapons, new specials, new modes) but completely ignore others, and it changes per season what they focus on.

One season we'll get new main weapons, another season we'll get a new king salmonid, then another a new mode or new specials, so on and so forth.

Trizooka challenges are so freaking fun.

Wins 5 times in a row: +9.5, +8, +5.5, +6.4, +0.54
Loses once: -94
Oh, you lost again: - 84

That will never not be funny to me :p

I wouldn't mind a little more nuanced points system, where individual achievements are taken into account :p

At least I know I'm playing well and ended up with 2230.7. I think that's enough for top 20%.

It would be really amazing if after 1 full year/4 complete seasons, they would go back to the way the updates were handled in Splatoon 2. I really don't know anyone who is truly satisfied by how S3 updates are released and I think we got enough seasonal gimmicks

I keep forgetting Challenges are a thing and I don't boot up my game to play them. Sucks.

I mean they show up very rarely and some of them are kinda not worth as "play turf war but we are tracking your performance" isnt as riveting as everyone having Inkzookas.

OT:

I havnt played any of this season but the changes for vJet look nice enough and I wanted to play Painbrush which looks to be in a good spot...but I feel like the game is still weaker in areas that Im better off waiting until September. If challenges were more frequent I think I would come back already as some of them sound like really fun modes to play.

Well, the 3 days of challenges started yesterday, so now is your chance to try them. Splat Zones + random weapons starts later today and tomorrow is Turf War + fog.

Thanks for the reminder! Random weapons are fun. They finally got the memo that the playerbase wanted them more often

I wasn't aware of the slight time shift during the weekday, so I ended up missing most of the Trizooka Challenge (only got 2 battles in). The new times that are shifted two hours later are better than the old for me at least. Still think that there should've been more slots from this point on (monthly challenge I can give or take, though).

Thank you for reading.

It's kinda crazy just how much the netcode of this game holds back its movement. I love playing around movement to survive or even win fights I really shouldn't as an aggressive player, but when you're in a laggy lobby it just doesn't work because they kill you by shooting where you were a second ago. The skill ceiling could be so much higher with proper servers.

Logged back into Splatoon 1 for nostalgia since the servers are back, my gal looks so cute 😭 Trying to get a match on Bluefin, it keeps giving me Ancho-V

Finally gotten to S+ yet again. Despite my location, I think I will pick the Tentatek Division despite being a further location compared to where I am, to see what's up with it. I haven't picked it but I considered it twice.

Thank you for reading.

Team Fame will be the real winners because all 4 of us will be known around the world. I've already gotten calls to appear on 2 Japanese TV shows as the lone American stupid enough to choose Fame

Curious if the result will be like JPN Splatoon 1 splatfest or Splatoon 2 splatfest?

Either way always choosing money lol

So, funny story. I’m at evo right now (got 0-2 in all my pools woo!) and I am wearing my Splatoon Zelda t-shirt and I’ve gotten asked for a picture 5 times. This shirt is paying dividends :p

I feel really bad for short range players in this game :(

I think I've lost my faith in this game getting fixed. Like, it's still extremely fun to play and I don't see myself stopping, but every day I grow more and more tired and annoyed of the big little things.

I'm glad other people are starting to discover how much sub strafing can feel like magic for improving your movement :)
Funnily enough it's Salmon Run that made me finally learn it to gather eggs faster near the basket lol

and yeah it feels amazing, there's Splatoon and then there's Splatoon with substrafing

I wonder if they will do a small direct to unveil the next season, it seems plausible they would have enough to stretch out a short 15 minute direct between Season 5, Side Order, a second round of amiibo this holiday (for Side Order or Deep Cut), and some general stats 1 year in.
Not exaggerating btw

It's not like your teammates are likely slouches with all the 5 star badges

Having used one weapon a lot doesn't mean anything in terms of skill, you can easily be A Rank and still have one

Especially compared to... ranking top 10 in X Battle at the end of a season.

Well what you're asking for is effectively impossible. Those 3 players who look to be a team are never going to find a comparable opponent. The odds of 6 top 3000 or higher players all playing in the same mode at the same time are pretty low, even at the busiest times of day, even without accounting for waiting time, latency, and team comps.

While yes none of your teammates badges indicate skill, they are equipped with a remarkably rare set as well, and as far as judging skill by badges goes, that's about as good as you could expect to get in any particular match.

Jet Squelcher feels pretty solid now.

Since the Splatfest sneak peek started I've been playing a few matches each day again and both kits have been more reliable than my Splatoon 3 standbys Explosher and Hydra. It's funny, though, the mantra of Always Be Painting I picked up maining Squelcher in previous titles was something that got me killed more than any other bad habit when I switched weapons. Now I have to re-learn that it's okay to ABP because with the Jet I actually want opponents looking at me more often than not.

This is good to know. I've been extremely disenchanted with the game for the last few weeks and I already got several 5 stars with other weapons I truly like, so maybe it's time to go back to it.

Let me know how it goes. Could be I'm just on a run of good luck and god teammates.

Incidentally the Cutom Jet did well at a recent tourney, so here's hoping the weapon will pick up in use among streamers and youtubers? It's been kinda hard finding footage of non-charger backliners to study and learn from.
