Have people found a way to disconnect without penalties? Cause lately the numbers of DCs have been way too frequent, it reminds me of the launch period. I just checked my last 50 battles and there were 18 matches where people disconnected (at any given time during the battle).

Let me know how it goes. Could be I'm just on a run of good luck and god teammates.

Incidentally the Cutom Jet did well at a recent tourney, so here's hoping the weapon will pick up in use among streamers and youtubers? It's been kinda hard finding footage of non-charger backliners to study and learn from.

I think it went well, because even when losing it felt like I was playing/doing OK. Still not a huge vacuum fan, but at least it doesn't suck as much anymore (still needs a tune up or two, and I'd make some changes to the Angle Shooter too). And while neither kit makes me happy, actually using the Jet Squelcher does.

Exactly where I'm at. The Jet Squelcher itself is just a damn solid main weapon and nothing does long-range mobile support like it does. Good enough is all it needs for special and sub, and buffed Ink Vac is close enough to good enough.

I need to teach myself to combo with the Angle Shooter, though. Never using it before is now coming back to bite me in the ass because my fingers aren't used to it. And it requires more precision than the old Burst Bomb double tap, so whatever muscle memory of that remains isn't helping.

Splatfest Team Slander:
Team Money need to buy a shower with how much they sweat
Team Love put more effort into drawing Splatfest posts than winning battles
Team Fame I have no slander for because I haven't seen them yet

Sat down and played with a buddy on Team Money. Played until both of us got to Ruler. Our record tn is 25-11-1.

#TeamMoneySweep

I'm Team Fame. I exist.

I walked up to the booth fully intending to vote Money, having reasoned my way to seeing it as the logical choice, and somehow flipped to Fame at the last second. I don't know why. I assume all the other three members who I keep getting matched with had the same happen to them and they can't explain it either.

Chill Season was announced on Nov 14 (Monday)
Fresh Season was announced on Feb 16 (Thursday)
Sizzle Season was announced on May 16 (Tuesday)

Who's ready for SR Underground to be revealed as another time-limited event?

This is my first Splatfest in a long time where I played a ton of matches. Probably Splatoon 2 was the last time but I'm finally a Love Ruler! I feel like I've mostly played against Love teams though with a few of the Moneygrubbers. Haven't seen a single Fame person.

Well, Team Clout Chasers is pulling me to victory even when I put in the shabbiest performance. We're gonna get famous with the biggest upset in Splatfest history.

The moment I start using Ink Vac for the Ink Vac and trying to body-block for teammates, my teams start losing. The moment I go back to using the Ink Vac like a Booyah Bomb, we're winning again.

Coincidence? Yes. But a bad solo queue special is still a bad solo queue special.

Gotten this season's special banner! When I see the gold capsule, it felt unbelievable because I thought I will never get them, but clearly the game proves me wrong by giving me my first ever gold capsule. I even got a bronze capsule earlier, though that's not as remarkable as a gold or silver capsule. Now I can show off a gold banner.

Thank you for reading.

What catalog level is the special banner at? This is the deepest I've gotten so far, and I waited too long to start to achieve level 100.

Sorry about tricolor guys, all 4 of us on Fame keep got placed as the defenders 3 times in a row. Won't happen again I swear

I am disappointed to report it has happened 3 more times, Frye's not even giving herself a chance to fight

If they weren't so rigid, the next Splatfest would have Frye off doing some soul searching, and Deep Cut calls in one of the older idols to be in her place for the duration.

Although I've only had mirror matches for the last hour or so (both as a defender and attacker), I think I like this Eeltail Alley Tricolor map. It doesn't feel claustrophobic nor unfair for either team, and it has a good amount of routes and structures. I prefer it to the original, actually.

Splatoon's netcode sometimes results in squids being Rapture'd

Players disappearing has been a common occurrence, tbh.

The popularity of team love is overwhelming because I could count with one hand the amount of non-mirror matches in the last 2 hours. At this point I'm only playing for conch shells and not clout, which IS true cause I need around 100 to get this season's gold banner.

There is no catalog level where the banner is at. It's from the Shell-Out Machine and there is a 0.1% chance you get it, meaning there is a very small chance to get it, hence I never gotten the previous 3 as the chance to get it is extremely low. Each season has one different one introduced.

Specifically, I got this from the Shell-Out Machine:

Perhaps related to the question, this banner is the golden version of Catalog lv. 95, which looks like this:

I wonder if the Tricolor map is very favourable for long-range weapons, because it feels like using a short range weapon is a disadvantage against the long ranged weapons.

Thank you for reading.

One of the color-blind mode colors for this Splatfest is blue and the other a lighter blue. Genius.

When we got our first look at the Tricolor map I though this might be the first to favor attackers. But in practice it's more about which side has longer range, yeah. There's a bit more easily accessed turf to paint for the defenders than I had eye-balled and when on the attacking side my teammates so far have refused to realize we actually have to ink our territory up to about the middle to get the necessary percentages even with one or two signals claimed, otherwise the defenders still win with 32-33ish%.

I just remembered Thursday might be the most likely for Drizzle Season to be revealed, Obon holiday is happening in Japan until the 16th

Well, this splatfest did a great job of reminding me why I don't play this game any more. I get 10/2 ratios in multiple games in a row, doesn't matter, I die in the last 10 seconds and we lose because my teammates are useless morons. I lose multiple games in a row despite playing better than anyone, because this game is designed to be deliberately hateful towards people who actually try. It's designed to make you hate yourself for actually putting effort in. I guess that's why it's a kids game.

Previous Ice Cream Splatfest got me cocky. Every match gave me teammates I was automatically on the same wavelength with. My win/loss ratio for the entirety of this Splatfest has been absolutely awful. All my teammates drop like flies the moment the enemy even looks at them funny.

I think they'll reveal the new season on Thursday, since it's Obon season in Japan from today until Wednesday. Though it's not a public holiday, so it may not stop them from revealing it earlier in the week.

After further play time, this map seems like an experiment designed to gauge how much of an advantage you can give attackers before it overcomes their natural disadvantage of not being coordinated or even actively working against each other on account of being broken into two teams.

If attackers on this map get two teams with one long-range weapon each and play smart, they will utterly wreck defenders. If attackers do any of the following: 1) bring four Aerosprays, 2) shoot each other, 3) press into the allied attacking team's half instead of using any advantage to paint the defending team's side alleys - then the defenders are probably still in mighty good shape.

So just had a teammate disconnect with a minute left in a 10x match which we were winning 😭

God I really need to play this more often. I hate only logging in for Splatfests and being absolutely useless. I wish this game had some equivalent of a Medic class.

Also, so much Booyah Bomb spam tonight 😦

When there's a catalogue I haven't completed, I play for two catalogue levels a day and then get off. Three during Splatfests. Then I break until the next season begins. I should be done with this one on Friday, giving me about 13 days to play other things.

Crazy results when I didn't have a single normal match against money. Japan must have been around 60% money.

I'm not surprised Money won Tricolour considering Team Fame was constantly attacking Love when we went for the signals 🤔 Dang. Can they give Shiver the less popular theme next time? Then it can just be her fans that auto join and whoever is left.

Hell yes baby 💰💰💰

EDIT: I'm actually surprised we won Tricolor as most Tricolor matches for me were Money mirrors, lol. I know I'm not the only player in the entire world (sorry!) but the rate felt bigger this time around.

I got the replaye to prove otherwise! (14 kills and only one was a Team Love member, and that happened in retaliation late in the game because they unlovingly tried to sucker-splat me after I had deliberately not shot them when they were claiming the signal but aimed my fire at the box stacks to keep those clear of defenders.)

Splatoon 2s love Vs money in 2018 (which was north America only, admittedly) had love win popularity with something like 2/3rds of the votes, Splatoon 3 after a bunch of economic hardship swinging it in favour of money is pretty harsh. Sign of the times I guess. That or Japan doesn't care for love at all 😅

The answer is simple Pearl/Marina is a stronger ship than Fyre/Shiver. As such, without such a strong sapphic showing, love was doomed to fail. In this essay I will...

I've been surprised how much I've warmed up to Barnacle and Dime over the course of the season, it looked terrible in the previews but playing it I think it's my favorite of the new maps. Thematically it's a little boring but the stage geometry is so dense and complex. It's so so good in clams with that basket deep in the enemy base
