It's hillarious watching the panel because one of the questions was how they felt about Legacy and almost every VA talked about being inspired by the previous VA for thier character EXCEPT Junpei's (I'm sorry but it's late and I can't remember anyone's name) and you could tell they were dancing around it.

That's exactly the case. If they give up on building a viable platform for JRPGs, then that's it, it's not like JRPGs will come to Xbox out of their own volition.

That's exactly the case. If they give up on building a viable platform for JRPGs, then that's it, it's not like JRPGs will come to Xbox out of their own volition.

They never should have gave up in the first place. Crazy to thing about the position they'd be in if they didn't stop and let Sony swoop in to fill the void in some areas

I'm wondering if they did it to have a fresh new cast going forward in case they want to do more with these characters in the future, or (more likely) it would have been awkward to only replace Junpei and Aigis so they did a complete refresh.

Whatever the case, I like what I've heard so far.

I don’t see the problem with this. Sony does this as well. It’s their marketing strategy. Confusing? Yes, because an owner of a competitor console could not have knowledge that said game is coming to their owned console, but it’s on the competition to market their software offers.

And like fellow posters have said: Microsoft is just trying to tap that JRPG market. You gotta do something when your competitor is throwing money at devs to purposely exclude your console from release.

things have definitely changed from the ps2 era regardless of what atlus wants. pour one out for the japanese marketing team tho. they gotta be sweating bullets after seeing ff16 bomb and having to sell a game that they have to pretend is xbox exclusive

That's just how these things work. When it comes to marketing deals like CoD / (old) Destiny with PlayStation, they just never even acknowledge the other system outside of Xbox being allowed to say they are also getting the game.

Marketing deals exist so platform holders can try to trick the mass audience into thinking its exclusive. It's not a weird practice, but it is weird to see persona shoved into this type of practice, but I'm here for it. My gamepass sub is ready.

Mostly because that audience wasn't at PS3 as they thought, many fans of the genre made the transition to the handhelds, PSP and DS around that time. Maybe India because of the depiction of Hindu gods? I could imagine this could be problematic, were some other Atlus games banned or not released in India? I know the anime Record of Ragnarok was banned in Netflix India because of it's depiction of Shiva.

I can see that but still would need to check if there are other games that have blocked by the same reason, iirc at least P4G is sold there and depict hindu gods. I guess the bigger mistery for me is Colombia, it's not like they are in similar economic situation like Argentina and it's certainly not for religous issues

Since this will be the place for new info, I saw this recently. Obviously till we get more info (pre-orders, etc), its still a rumor. Not surprising, but I guess this will Sega's first 70$ game (LAD 8 most likely so whichever releases first). Will it affect overall sales? Idk, given that P5R did not have a upgrade path (weird scenario with that one), maybe they will do the same thing.
