No chance, lol. Tomodachi Life is the 10th best-selling 3DS game.
It WOULD validate 'NoA have bad taste Theory', but it doesn't fit the clues at all.
I'm going by GameCenter CX rules; so the DS won't be retro until 2024.
I do think it being a sales juggernaut doesn't exactly rule out the possibility of it being the casual stinker. I mean, NSMB is a sales juggernaut, U was the third best selling Wii U game and when we first heard it was being ported we've all gone "
".
"You see that Tennis Court? You can jog there."
you don't understand, I want this more than anything in the world
and MiiTA wouldn't even need any actual campaign, just being like GTA Online but you drive to fucking Wii Sports would be the greatest video game ever conceived
and you would have to take the fucking ferry (or maybe steal a boat) to golf, how sick is that
We made LABO Vehicle Kit flop so goddess EPD will never bless us with open world casual game ever again.
On a serious note I was really wondering yesterday about the possibility of the Ring Fit Adventure being "open world". Not giant map like BotW but open ended design or larger levels with tons of activities (aside of walking kilometers in real life). Something like Super Mario Odyssey.
Speaking of which, I'm completely addicted. I often speculate about dreaming of an actual open world Mario but playing Odyssey I don't know if I want it anymore. Odyssey is the most open world I think a game like that can get. It's not about map size as in BotW or Skyrim, but about how much content it can have in a map. I spent more time in New Donk City than in the Great Plateau. The way it made me explore a loooot every kingdom is just magic to me. The pure platforming games are just perfection too. One of the best games I've ever played surely. It's the kind of feeling I got with Super Mario World, Super Metroid, Zelda OoT and Persona 5, where I just want to play and play and it just gets more impressive and I get more immersed.
I feel very strongly that the hinted game isn't related to 1-2 Switch because "horse person" at least to me implies that it's character based. While
@MondoMega is right about Tomodachi's sales, I still can see it as a shallow sequel that most on an enthusiast forum will react coolly towards
Horses are a species of regular villagers in AC. It feels like a weird thing to signal out, but that could be interntional on Emily's part.
I think Raccoon does have a point about it being something character-based rather than starring avatars like Miis; though I have other reasons for ruling out Tomodachi that trump it.
I thought it was just because people(including myself lol) were taking the stinker itself as a hint like something that Wario would be, but now it makes sense that it would be character based instead of Mii based.
I remember Emily saying that it's a game that reveals would range from from 50-70?? I'm not certain on the window she gave but it was something that is really really bad for Nintendo standards. So I think Tomodachi Life can be ruled out too. Also with how it sold I don't think it wouldn't be loved by some at NoA or be well recepted from fans while just ignored by core fans.
Oh well... I think it's really gonna be Animal Crossing New Festival lol.
IIRC there was some kind of reason for that, like an interview or an insider said something about it or something that led people to think it was going to be coming quicker than we thought. I am definitely looking forward to finally getting another look at it.
Oh, I remember that as well. And I also think it's not gonna come like the end of the gen or anything. It's just that people(myself included when I read that statement) took it way too far like thinking it would come as early as 2022. Well, after the bar that XV and VII remake set, it can come in 2024 and the statement will still be right lol. I think it can come in 2023 tho.
