Having a hard time making the Amiibo Festival naming work with "Everybody":

Amiibo Festival 2: Everybody Stinks of Horse

Animal Crossing: Everybody's Horsing Around With Their Stinky, Anti-Consumer Amiibo Cards

Everybody from Animal Crossing Votes On How Much You Stink Like A Horse

Everybody Festival.
No longer limited to animal crossing.

What is the 2022 Casual Sequel?

The Clues
  • It’s a sequel
  • Original got middling reviews
  • Working title includes “Everybody”
  • One or more people in this thread have guessed what it’s a sequel of
  • Someone at Nintendo thinks it’s a “stinker,” not because it’s bad, but because it lacks depth
  • There is a horse person in some capacity
The Stakes

The losing teams will get their avatars STINKY HORSEPERSON’D by either me, themselves, or volunteers.

The avatars must be worn for a month after the game in question is announced.

The Prize

Smug satisfaction, unless anyone can think of something better! I’d get you eShop gift cards but that might be a mess internationally. TBD!

The Teams

Anything is fair game, but your team name must be the assumed title, including “Everybody” in it.

Teams can openly debate what they want their name to be, but it does not need to be exact to win — just needs to be the correct implied sequel.

So “Game & Wario 2” wouldn’t count, but “Everybody Game & Wario” would! And everyone who thinks it’s a Game & Wario game would join that unified team (and can debate to change the name to a better / funnier fake title at any time).

Additional Rules

Due to the indeterminate nature of the announcement, team declaration can’t be changed willy-nilly. Maybe you get a week after declaration to change your mind?

My next post will be my team declaration!
Just because I know your losing team avatar will be fantastic, I'm gonna hop on team

Pocket Card Jockey 2: Everybody Gets a Horse!

Nintendogs + Cats - Cats: Definitive Edition. It's just Nintendogs + Cats but without the cats. That's what makes it definitive.

The series got done dirty by adding cats. Talk about subtraction by addition.

Yeah I said it!

Honestly it probably would have been better if BDSP wasn't made in Unity, though. ILCA did not do a great job at recreating the game feel of Game Freak's titles, and using their engine probably would have helped with that.
that's not an engine issue. it really depends on what you mean by "game feel". because if you mean stuff like pacing, then a 3D translation of a 2D game is never gonna feel the same

I'm talking about the feel of the controls and menus. The game's controls just feel very off and, at times, sluggish.

Is this the first Famiboards avatar bet thread?

Put me in for Team Everybody Switch. The game sold well enough that Nintendo actually has a decent reason to make a sequel. Plus, next year is established to be 2017 part 2 so a 1-2 Switch sequel fits

You can probably put a horseperson in one of the mini games, there's a lot of them and you might as well do a horseperson for one

the soundtrack when pikmin 4 is in development hell, epd9 has been making a scummy phone game this whole time, the next quirky casual game sucks, star fox is also in dev hell, and epd8 is making donkey kong

(imagine a medium sized woodland vermin falling out of the window of a cathedral in slow motion)

Hey thanks for reminding me that the new Cowboy Bebop series debuts today!

I feel like people saying 1-2 Switch aren't familiar with it

it doesn't have characters. it does not have visuals. it has stock photos, audio, and joy-con demos. if the hint that a horse person might show up is referring to it then it will be starkly divergent from the original. I cannot stress enough that it simply does not have visuals.

Everybody Pockey Jockey or whatever it's called is a good guess. Animal Crossing: Everybody Party is perhaps a better one. but I feel very strongly that it will not be 1-2 Switch Everybody 3-4

So you're saying is Everybody 1-2 Switch* is the dark horse pick... 👀

*This title should always be read in the style of Ciara's classic song 1, 2 Step btw

Have a question for y'all with Black Friday around the corner and some accessories on sale.

Looking at updating my microSD card from 256GB. I just realized a 512GB card has gone down in price drastically ($82 CAD full price on Amazon for SanDisk UHS-1), but I was wondering is people have a preferred brand between SanDisk/Samsung/Kingston/Lexar, and if it might be cheaper elsewhere? I've seen Canada Computers for $70 for the Kingston, but just want to know what people prefer and has more reliability

I use a 512gb SanDisk and have had no problems with it. I previously used a 128gb SanDisk that also had no issues.

I recently purchased a 512GB SanDisk card, and it's been working great for me so far.

I've thought of a Switch 2/Pro/U gimmick I'd actually care about. I nearly posted this in the hardware spec thread, but it's too much of a tangent from figuring out as much as possible about Dane.

The question of whether The Next Console Iteration will have a control gimmick, with the general consensus being that no one wants one. I realize I'm gonna get some shit for this but you know what I would really welcome? Wii Style Pointer Controls.

The Switch has an amazing trick with the Joy-Cons + The Touchscreen. Touch allows pointer centric games to run in portable mode (sometimes awkwardly, ala Mario Galaxy) and pointer emulation with accelerometers does an admirable job with emulating a Wii pointer.

But the Wii generation is about to be in their Nostalgic Feels, and the pointer emulation limits a lot of the Wii library from coming over comfortably. On the other hand, touchscreen gaming is going strong in the mobile world and PCs still have a mouse - getting those games up onto the TV is a challenge.

I think there would be real value in bringing a Wii style pointer back - especially if it can be made sensor-bar-less. Weirdly enough, I have a tiny bit of experience with that. Back in the aughts I worked in a psych lab that used IR cameras for eye tracking. I did some experiments with CRTs, and you can absolutely see a TV as a square of light with an IR camera like the one in the Joy-Con, and with some processing power use it to orient a pointer just like a sensor-bar. I have no sense of whether that technique would work with modern TVs (it's probably a no go on OLEDs), and I think the ergonomics to put a camera on the front of the Joy-Con would be a nightmare. BUT - I didn't have a Wii so I want it, nyah nyah
