Weirdest announcement ever. Not in content, because a Peach game is awesome news and this one looks great, but in form.

I guess they wanted to capitalize on the three leads of the Mario movie and state each of them is getting their own Switch game.
If they really wanted to that, they would have also announced Captain Toad 2 😭😭😭

Buuuut who's working on it.. it looks too good to be Good-Feel but I don't think that NLG is working on something else than Luigi's Mansion 4. Could it be an EPD game ? It looks so good, I imagine it's the march 2024 game

Pretty dang pumped for this. Luigi made it work and eventually got his own really successful spin off series. I'd fucking love it if Peach had the same deal going on with this game kicking it off. She's been here for decades she deserves her time in the sun!

Yes, I'm aware of her DS game and no I don't acknowledge it.

A game where Peach collects dem spore taxes from Toad workers and spends all the kingdom revenue in making the castle fancier and promoting the dramatic arts until the revolution starts. Count me in.

I'm stoked for this! It's about damn time.

Really happy it's not "Just a regular Mario game but with Peach"(although that looks really good too! Lol but it wouldn't really be unique to the Princess herself)

Also, while I think it looks visually great, the animation doesn't strike me as very NLG. Like even a little bit.

And there is something about the enemies and environment that says Good Feel.

Maybe it's neither tho?

Isn't Good Feel working on that Goemon spiritual successor that was only shown in the japanese direct? Given, I dunno how big they are and how many resources are bound with the Goemon game.

Really curious what this will be like. My major problem with Mario spinoffs like this is they're usually super short and simple, I hope they utilize the stage play idea to its fullest potential and come up with some really creative and fun ideas.

They did make that yeah.

Maybe it's an EPD project? That would be dope actually.

they have two studios with one supposed to worked on the Goemon like game and another doing work for other companies such as Nintendo.

For those saying that they announced the Mario, Peach and Luigi games to capitalize on kids' favorite characters from the Mario Movie, I agree with you.

A weekend or two ago, we were watching something on Nickelodeon, and Nintendo had a series of commercials each featuring one character and all of the games they're in. I think we saw one for Mario, Link and Peach.

After watching the movie I was dreaming of a Peach game happening. And it's happening in 2024. God I'm so happy this was announced!

Looks great graphically too!! And the gameplay... The perspective looks like that or Luigi's Mansion more than an actual side scroller? Looks a bit like Yoshi's Crafted World too, so I wonder if it isn't Good Feel.

I hope Nintendo markets it well and positions it as a major title.

My money is on the devs of the original game: TOSE

I'm so excited to see more of this game! What little I saw looks really cute.

Nintendo should've called 2023 the Year of Peach lmao. Prominent role in the movie, playable in Wonder, there's the Mario RPG remake where she's a main party member, and she's getting her own game (again). Makes me wonder if the era of Peach being a damsel is finally over

Well this was a pleasant surprise! I was hoping for another Peach game, but I always wondered what form that would take. "Magical girl stage play" is not what I was predicting, but it feels really fitting.

There's not too much to say without a title and with less than 30 seconds of footage, but this is a pretty promising start. Looking forward to this one a lot!

I have to say, making peach finally a big deal after so many years is pretty great. She's pretty much a playable character in most Mario games nowadays and this spin off looks to be of great quality.
Extremely happy to see them taking the Luigi's mansion route and not making a platformer just with peach instead of mario like super princess peach; especially since she's playable in super Mario wonder so that would be pointless

Had a look at the regional Nintendo Twitter accounts, and this game seems to have garnered the most attention outside of SMRPG and Wonder (and Splatoon in Japan).

Obviously that metric means little, but Nintendo might have a decent hit on their hands if things go well.

I always said that if Nintendo played their cards right, they could absolutely turn Peach into an Elsa-esque icon adored in particular by young girls, and create a Disney-Princess inspired superbrand with her and the other Mario ladies. In between this new game, Peach's portrayal in the movie, and making Daisy playable in Mario Bros Wonder, seems like Nintendo are making decisive moves in this direction.

Either way, it seems the desire for a Peach-led game has always been there judging from the online reaction, particularly from people wanting to see more. So I'm glad it's happening. Wouldn't surprise me if there's some kind of transformation mechanic where she changes outfits to complete different onstage tasks.

I've been saying this since Odyssey due to the way that game ends. Nice to see everything pointing up to that.

Because of the solid rumors, neither SMRPG nor Mario Wonder surprised me but this made me freeze and pay attention.

Enjoyed a hell out Super Princess Peach and since the end of Odyssey I got an itch about a Super Princess Peach 2/3D.

I hope it is a true new line of games like Luigi's Mansion and the Yoshi games. It's way due for Peach to have her own series.

As a Super Princess Peach defender, I really hope this is good

I'm with you, fellow Super Princess Peach comrade!🤙🏼

Still would love an Atelier Peach game made by Gust.

Playing Ryza 3 (alongside TotK) and now I want this, dammit 👁️

I'll keep an eye on this one, I really like the artstyle. Looks like it's leaning heavily into the SMB3 fan theory that the game is just a theatrical play where no one is in any real danger.
Is that just a theory? I thought Miyamoto said it himself at some point? 🕵️

Indeed there was some Magical Quest vibes.

Magical Quest meets "Pretty Guardian Princess Peach", to be more precise

I think this is the 2D EPD Tokyo game

I’m really excited to see more of this! The one two punch of Mario RPG and Peach back to back was wild in the Direct. Where it ended really looked like a magical girl transformation which would be so cool! If it’s a bunch of different outfits with unique abilities, that’d be fun too!

i dont think its epd neither goodfeel, it looks too good to be any of them

Very much NLG, to me.

With the whole stage thing and Peach not wearing a crown, maybe this is an origin story of sorts. A theatrical retelling of how she came to be the Princess of the Mushroom Kingdom?

I wouldn't think that's likely as Nintendo isn't typically the kind to make a narrative heavy mario game to begin with (yes, yes I know, Mario RPG at the same time).

It's not the first time peach has changed headwear either, she didn't wear the crown for most of her costumes in Mario odyssey. And they did still specifically call her princess in the trailer instead of just peach

Peach has probably just lost her crown as part of the set-up for the game.

I'm willing to bet the ribbon and the new sidekick are connected - I think the footage even suggests as such.

Double post, but screw it.

Watching some analysis videos, I'm pretty enamoured with the stage play aesthetic. Peach transforming into a different outfit jives with that quite nicely imo.

I hope they really make the most of the concept. Could do some really interesting things with the staging and props.

I am very curious who is actually developing this.
Seen mostly mentions about Next Level Games, Good Feel, and Intelligent System.
Either way, I am very excited for it, it looks really pretty. I hope Daisy, Rosalina, Toadette and Pauline appears as well.

When do we feel this is coming and getting new info?

Will we see it again on the next Direct with a title and release date for H1 2024? Will we wait until February Direct for a summer release? Will we wait until June Direct for a fall release? Will it be Yoshi's Crafted again and be delayed to early 2025?

Coming? Before Nintendo’s Fiscal Year closes: March 31st, 2024. More info? September Direct. How much info? Maybe more footage and a logo. But they’ll go full in their February Direct
Hmmm I'd definitely love that!!! The sooner I see more of the game, the better.

But I don't see it coming before late spring tbh, I feel like if it was so soon it'd have gotten a trailer idk. Or maybe the whole point of the reveal was to be mysterious and generate speculation for a full reveal in September? Idk how long they'll go with only "princess Peach is getting a game" without even naming it. Yoshi has gone more than a year but it did receive a proper trailer for reveal.

Not that I expect this to happen, but imagine the online reaction if the Peach game was Nintendo's premiere launch title for the Switch 2.

The salty Gamer tears would be delicious.

The teaser-y nature of the reveal makes me think this game is not coming soon, it was just shown off to capitalize on Mario movie hype. I wouldn't be surprised if it was fall 2024.

Honestly, the announcement was so weird. They could have waited for the September direct to announce it. We don't even have a proper logo or title 😭
But it definitely screams late 2024 to me

I would think Nintendo has learned by now that the best titles to launch with that sets the system in motion and off to a strong start is Zelda or 3D Mario and I fully expect the new 3D Mario to be there day one.

And because of that, I would not expect this new Princess Peach game to be a cross-gen launch title. It would sell, but would largely be overlooked. It’ll likely release before the new hardware does.

What is the point of launching a 3D Mario game on a relatively empty park of consoles ? Usually Nintendo waits 6-12 months before launching Mario 3D

For the very reason I just said. You have to launch with something, and that something has to be big. It doesn’t get much bigger than 3D Mario and Zelda, and it’s clearly not Zelda. Who wouldn’t want to buy the next hardware to play the next big 3D Mario adventure?
