News Nintendo Direct announced for June 21 (40 minutes long, focused on games releasing this year, 7AM Pacific, 10AM Eastern, 4PM Central European)

The rumor is that DK is being developed in Tokyo (which is believable given a hiring call for a 2D game there in 2020) whereas (2D) Mario is being developed in Kyoto (based on a hiring call for a 2D game there in 2019 and 2D Mario has only ever been developed in Kyoto)
 
My hopes and dreams:
  • after yesterdays talk I want chrono trigger
  • xenoblade x
  • astral chain 2

I know I wont get anything of the above :cry: I will be satisfied with:
  • dq 3 hd
  • baten kaitos
and the rest? Well, nintendo has to surprise and delight ;)

I haven't listened to them for a long time but Kit and Kyrsta are fine sources when discussing how Nintendo operated during a certain period (mainly from the Wii/DS era to mid-Switch era). However as former Nintendo employees they are probably more limited in getting information compared to others like Nate since it'll be easier to trace any connections they may have in the company.

I really hope they'll revive Super Mario Land type gameplay in this new 2D Mario game. Some stages closer to Yoshi's Island structure, moves along both y and x axis and enemies were nothing like Mario has today. Bees, Moai heads, mummies etc.
 
The question remains: will Nogami the nameless Squid Research Lab technician deliver a new pose at the Direct?

I knew in early June. A few days prior to casting my vote, as I knew my vote would be taken as a hint. People will recall I avoided voting in the past for such a reason, but this time I figured it'd be a subtle tease.

Between the Fate game and DW10 likely being announced at TGS, I'm not sure if Omega Force has the bandwidth to announce anything else, yet.

Be it Zelda (likely), Fire Emblem (possibility) or Mario (my fondest desire), I don't think we'll hear about anything of that sort 'til next year at the earliest.

First of all, i of course have to give @LukasManak22 a heartfelt congratulations. But not just Lukas, i also want to congratulate my other team June comrades. Some of us may have been here since the beginning, some of us may have joined very recently, but we did it together. Thank you, team June. I'm so proud of you all.

As for the other teams out there, well...There's a Nintendo Direct in less than 24 hours, they may have lost but i would hardly call this a L! You all did good.

Okay, now that is out of the way...
YES, A NINTENDO DIRECT WOOHOO!!!

Obviously i am very excited for the Direct. I will be watching it live and i can't wait!

This will also be the first ever Nintendo Direct i will be watching alongside Famiboards. I'm quite curious to see how something like that plays out on this site, excited to watch it alongside you lovely people.

My point is...There's a Nintendo Direct tomorrow. We all won. Well... Except our wallets!

My Predictions. I'm feeling optimistic

  • Starts with Pikmin 4
  • Goes right into Quick Everybody 1-2 Switch
  • 3rd party headlines( Sonic, Prince of Persia, Persona 3, Mario Rabbids)
  • Sonic and Mario Olympics
  • F-Zero GX Remaster for August
  • Pokemon segment( Recap of DLC and detective Pikachu)
  • Another round of headlines
  • Zelda thank you for playing and amiibos announced
  • 2d Mario for November
  • One last thing Metroid Prime 4 Spring 2024

It was wild, I never thought I will once again have that much fun in a Direct thread. Thanks to all the quotes, tags, mentions and who knows what else. It's not my victory, everyone wins. But the people who always believed had a special place in my heart. Some even did not left after Grubb said July. It's finally over, the best and funniest battle of all time, my last and funniest bit, ended on "who the fuck is that?". I am not doing this ever again.

To be fair this direct date and time is almost the same as Xenoblade 3 direct last year
