So there are rumblings of a Paper Mario remake and a Super Mario RPG remake?

On one hand, Mario RPG fans might finally be happy after years of suffering. On the other hand, I will be that guy and be slightly sad we are getting two remakes instead of an original.

Hope 2D Mario doesn’t mean no DK. I’m going through the seven stages of grief waiting for this Direct.

I however will be very happy if it means Wario’s triumphant return to mainline Mario

I have doubts about dropping the "Bros." moniker, especially with the SMB movie this year, but it would be interesting.
 
Jokes aside though, as a big Mario & Luigi fan it is a bit disappointing to see literally every Mario RPG series out there get a game on the Switch (if the SMRPG rumors are true) except Mario & Luigi.

I  like Paper Mario, but i love Mario & Luigi. So i'd love to see a new (or even a remake, i'm not picky!) M&L game on Switch.

I'd be very, very surprised if they went all in on wacky Mario for the big 2D Mario. Honestly I don't even know what to expect. NSMB has been 2D Mario's identity since 2006, and its look is core to the brand. It's hard to see what they would have in mind for a new title.

But to be fair, I think that makes it all the more exciting.

You're right, my bad. That came up yesterday when people were discussing him in the context of him being an asshole, but a joke about his appearance is tasteless regardless.

I liked how Nate felt offended MVG brought up the possibility of Everybody 1,2 Switch! appearing in the Direct

I listened to Nate’s podcast, but I didn’t catch the Mario Party predictions. I think I might’ve not paid attention lol. Did anyone catch the Mario Party part?

Not listened, but yeah, that’s completely incorrect if what you say is true. Everyone on my friends list, including myself, is playing it as much as ever. I’m even avoiding the final temple in order to drag it out. It’s also clear from forums and social media that everyone is still completely on board.

The version they puts on the TV is different than the version they posted online, the TV commercial only listed XBOX due to the marketing deal.

But my thinking was that the Flower was Pikmin, so then I was trying to figure out what the other emojis lined up with.
 
We got a name for a Mario game that might not even exist! This thread is wild.

...well, hey, I'm not complaining, this is gonna make coming up with an ST title way easier!
 
I’ll forgive Nintendo not doing stuff with DK if it means they’re actually going to do something cool with 2D Mario for once.

Besides, with the theme park coming soon, DK is inevitable

legitimately a new 2D Mario which embraces the handheld legacy and the variety/spirit of the 3D games would be a dream come true. Wonderland would be a much better name than my 'New Super Mario Land' title.
