Dunno how credible the 2d Mario rumor is, but if that's the holiday game then I have to assume Prime 4 is Q1 2024. It's really hard for me to imagine the Holy Trinity all in one calendar year.

Zippo’s very first leak I remember was Metroid Dread. He was the first to say hands down that it was a new 2D game and not a remake. Other insiders seemed in the know that MS was making it, but some thought a Super remake. Definitely remember Zippo leading the charge there about a year before Dread’s reveal.

He also knew Paper Mario in 2019. Though he did say return to form, but honestly there are aspects of Origami king that on paper could look like that despite the game obviously not returning to TTYD style, so I give him the benefit of the doubt there. He really was just one of us at one point, a NintendoERA member who enjoyed getting excited for directs and speculating with the community. I do think he has connections and didn’t start with bad intentions, though he’s kinda run away with it at this point and clearly went too far.
I had no idea Zippo was the origin of the Dread rumor. Crazy.

I just think every Nintendo fan on Earth is Bound to have a good time this week

It was definitely a weird day when he started claiming he had info.

I just don't know if he had any original claim.
Yeah, Nate was one of the people that said the 2D Metroid is Super or Fusion remake, but there was other sources outside of them claiming a 2D Metroid is coming before them.

I will say that he definitely has some genuine SEGA connections because he shared some Sonic stuff with me a good while before it was announced IIRC.

If it's a General Direct, yes, tomorrow. If it's a smaller Direct, those have been dropped without announcement. People expect a Direct of some kind to happen on Wednesday. All dates will depend on your time zone; I've answered as someone in the United States.
In general Directs are around a Thursday, most of them are within Europe timezone on a Thursday.

He have zero credibility and was never responsible for any credible rumor whatsoever

Anyone can see he just repeat what credible leakers say for clout. He's straight up a liar and a deceiver from the get go

That makes sense. I see that the February 8 Direct was at 5 PM ET, which would mean that it was late at night for some parts of Europe and then on a Thursday for places further east.

Why are people talking about SMRPG remake specifically? I did catch the SNES remake thing, but back then (a few hours ago lol) the consensus was FE4 or Chrono.
Well the leaker in question posted a pic of beeg yoshi from SMRPG, and then was liking tweets about SMRPG. Separately, someone on Era is claiming their own source mentioned a Mario RPG remake, even posted saying they should announce a remake 30 minutes before Pyoro's tweet.

That pyoro guy was claiming there's an SNES remake and then posted fat yoshi.

Other than that, wishful thinking.

I don't really trust that guy.

It is interesting that both Emily and Liam have gone to bat for Zippo, but until they actually get something definitively correct that originated from their blog/posts/whatever, I don’t see any reason to put stock in what they say.

I guess maybe 2D Sonic can be attributed to them? But they still got quite a bit wrong, so I dunno.

If Zippo has some connections, is probably sega people, hence sonic and camelot stuff (former sega people). But I haven't seen Golden Sun yet so when people mentioned his name I go "Who?" 😅

Imagine thinking Nate would have a Patreon and not a streamlabs dot com forward slash natethehate forward slash tip where you can donate a dollar to ask a question or donate 100 dollars and he’ll dedicate the episode to you

It shouldn't be surprising to see multiple Nintendo titles confirmed in a June Direct.

Between the February 2023, September 2022 Directs and TGA combined we had four titles announced (Metroid Prime Remastered, Kirby's Return to Dreamland DX, Fire Emblem Engage, Bayonetta Origins). By way of comparison, the February 2022 Direct alone confirmed four Nintendo titles plus the timed exclusive Live Alive. Go back to February and June 2021 for further Directs were four or five titles were confirmed at a time (maybe more, in February 2021's case?). Those three Directs were all announcement heavy because Nintendo's confirmed software slate was thin, like now.

That doesn't mean go in expecting every rumour to be true; but it does mean multiple Nintendo titles being announced is fairly likely. Maybe that includes timed or third party exclusives; maybe it includes eShop only titles; maybe there's a Pokemon spin off coming in 2023 and therefore that particular game doesn't feature.

But it's not unreasonable at this point to think that something like 3 to 5 Nintendo reveals happens.

Hey all, glad to be with you even in spirit even with all the crazy shit I’ve been though and all the bad headaches I still get and they’re not hundred percent gone yet. Getting there but not quite. Thank you @Raccoon , @Dragoncaine, @LukasManak22 , @VolcanicDynamo , @Aurc , @merp, @Derachi USER=46]@Brofield[/USER] , @xghost777 , @Skittzo and @Plum for staying in contact with me. Really appreciate it.
Glad you're around to hype with us, buddy! Hopefully those headaches get the swift kick in the ass they need.

Shamsa and The Zelda Sensei be like:

Why would you waste your effort on remaking Mario RPG instead of just making a new one

Its not like they need to test if the serie have potential and I doubt thats their intention to begin with

I really can't get excited for Remakes anymore.

I think a lot of people a jumping on remake because SMRPG is not on NSO yet, when you figure it would be.

It's not like Zippo has never been right. Some of Zippo's info is credible.

It's just such a scattershot of valid, fake, already claimed and unproven that he's not particularly reliable.

And yeah, Zippo wasn't the one to break Dread, his claim is just the first that gained substantial traction. The first Dread leaks popped up wayyyy before Zippo.

Regarding this Zippo fellow:
Having a few legitimate sources and being a bullshitter most of the time ARE NOT MUTUALLY EXCLUSIVE.

Case in point, over in PC land, there's that Moore's Law Is Dead guy. He actually does have an occasional source (he has one in Intel foundry side). But most of the time, he's spouting crap and/or doing things like plucking from speculative forum posts and respin them as 'leaks' (...aaaand his ability to analyze what legit info he does get can be considered dicey at best).

Because Square Enix has had a lot of success remaking/remastering many of their 90's classics for modern audiences. For millions of gamers these games are brand new to them since they released 10-20 years before they were born. Complaining about remakes of games is just a sure fire sign that you're old.

The Pyoro guy was only liking tweets that mentioned Super Mario RPG. Nothing about Chrono or FE4. And then he randomly posted that Fat Yoshi meme.

Honestly? Super Mario RPG remake. I think I like Chrono as a game better, but it’s far more likely to get a remake on it’s own than SMRPG (and also the very low possibility of Geno and Mallow amiibo being made for it is very very exciting)
a Crono Trigger remake is more likely to happen, since Square Enix own the rights of Super Mario RPG, making a remake of the game very unlikely to happen

I had no idea Zippo was the origin of the Dread rumor. Crazy.
He definitely wasn’t the origin of the 2D Metroid rumor in general, but he absolutely was the most confident that it was Metroid 5.

I vividly remember this because I was so worried it was another remake and he was the only one who was giving me some solid hope lol.
