Good that you brought up 3DS and Switch co-existing for a good while, but I was actually referring to their home console devices. Should've noted that!

Yeah, but the thing about that is the Wii U was dead long before the Switch was a thing. They'd obviously stopped greenlighting new projects in any serious manner by late 2014 at the latest, there could never have been a cross gen period with the wii u, because the platform was one of the most abysmal sales failures that the industry has ever seen.

How confident are we about Direct this week, give me your temperatures!

If the way people whine about PS5 games being cross-Gen is any indication, it's going to be annoying when the Switch 2 finally drops.
I mean think about TotK if it were a cross-gen game. Even if it literally had zero improvements in terms of textures, models etc., simply having it run at a consistent framerate (especially if that were 60fps but even if it were 30) and look a little less blurry would make it feel an awful lot better. To be honest for a lot of Switch stuff (especially third party), for me it's just more about getting that improved performance rather than pushing graphical boundaries.

I highly doubt that there will be a fully new artstyle for 2D/3D Mario. It'll just be a nicer version of what we already have. Anything else would clash with the current brand image of Mario in the movies, on merch, and at the theme parks.

I don't know about a complete new artstyle, but I'd definitely go for the next game looking more like the 3D world artstyle from Mario maker 2 than another NSMB game.

Got to say the vibes do feel good for something this week. I still think there is a possibility of it being a partner or Mini, but I'm going to hope for a full fat general detailing the rest of Nintendo's 2023.

98% chance of a Direct this week for sure, and considering Nate already said this past weekend he's uploading his next video in the next couple of days, he must be confident in knowing when an announcement is coming in order to strategically drop the predictions episode, and Minis/Partners aren't announced in advance. General Direct announcement tomorrow at 10am ET, 98% likelihood, book it

The direct is definitely happening. You can put money on it. Nate isn’t going through the trouble of doing a predictions video if he didn’t 100% know a direct was happening this week.

I have been begging for a new Mario Baseball game, but Nintendo including Mario's Sluggers art at baseball games is not confirmation. It's at Seattle Mariners games which I believe Nintendo still owns a small piece of. They've used thjs Mario art at Mariners games for a whjle.
Can confirm. It was confirmed already that it was an old Mario Sluggers asset but I wanted to add to this that Nintendo of America owns a 10% stake of the Seattle Mariners and they've been running ads there at the backstop for I don't know how long now (only started watching baseball last year). I tried to look for them hastily and here's what I found

(not trying to be a party pooper, just trying to temper expectations with what the ad means and I also want a new Mario Sluggers because I haven't gotten to play one yet since being a baseball fan last year)

Wow, they redid their whole backstop.

I think we should get, at very least, one between 2D Mario, Metroid Prime 4 and DK, with two of the three saved for september announcement and 2024 release. add 2/3 minor announcement (remasters, casual/AA) and we are in for a good one. hope to see some third party aces, but I think most of them will be also saved for September.

I have a better track record than a Zippo or Markomaro and am not even pretending to be a insider because unlike them am a real insider.

Necrolipe from Universo Nintendo, who has posted some reliable stuff, posted this:
"Damn, i really smash a mini hamburger, but the normal sized one is way better. But when i'm hungry any of them are good lol"

Alt translation with Deep L
Pow, I really like mini hamburgers, but the normal size ones are much better... there's no way (But when hungry, whatever you have is worth it lol)

Nintendo promo.

However, since when does the switch have mario baseball?!?!

Coming soon? Nintendo Direct? Zippo being right? It all makes sense

Isn’t it just because NoA owns one-tenth of the Seattle Mariners?

the GOAT better show up in the direct
I love when Nintendo devs/producers show up in high-profile events to talk about their projects, like Aonuma for Zelda, Nogami the nameless Squid Research Lab employee for Splatoon, and the developer stories at E3 2014 and 2015.
Mario Super Swing revealed (rhythm game featuring music from Super Mario 3D World and new big band arrangements from across the franchise), coming August 25
FTFY
It's still fucking bullshit Mario Super Sluggers never released in Europe. I never knew this game existed until a couple of months ago, then I saw the roster and almost started crying

The way these characters are ordered is messing with my mind 😂

You are different from the average insider because you actually conjure Directs into existence from sheer willpower alone.

I think this is just a "full or mini I'll be happy with a direct" comment, and not an actual hint at what kind of direct it'll be.

Hey RTG, you should sign into your burner account and apologize for disrespecting our spiritual leader @LukasManak22. You may make 465k subscribers, but there are tens of millions of Lukas devotees who don't take kindly to your heathenness slander.

And update the video on your home page. 2022 preview? It's 2023 damn it!

We started with sacrifices and now we have a shaman. In two years we will be like the spanish people of Resident Evil 4

If it is a Mini what can we expect.? Mario tennis and DKC TF was announced at the 2018 Mini and I believe club house games was announced at the 2020 Mini. So my guess would be small spinoffs and a remaster with 3rd party updates too.

There is very little chance that we would get Prime 4 or 2d Mario/DK if this is branded a Mini.

I just hope that we don't get Tears of the Kingdom DLC. BOTW's DLC was so lame, and I don't want to get an expansion pass for TOTK only to be told years later "Haha yea most of our DLC ideas actually ended up being made into a full game enjoy the tricycle tho lol"

If it is a mini, it will probably get shadowdropped on Wednesday as opposed to being announced tomorrow.
