I know I'm really late to the party, but holy shit Hollow Knight is awesome. I tried it out before, but couldn't find my way around and fell off immediately. Metroid Dread gave me the urge to retry and now I'm loving it.
 
I didn't have a ton of time to play SMT V yesterday because I stayed up the whole night before from being too excited, but I am really loving the game so far. Only five hours in and already gotten two Game Overs 😍
 
Me and a buddy are going to see Eternals tomorrow. I’m pretty dang excited even knowing most people seem to be less-than-impressed by it. (I’m not a very tough movie critic, though, so I’m assuming I’ll enjoy it.)

It’ll be my 3rd movie theater trip since the pandemic started (Black Widow and Shang-Chi being the other two.) Already decided on Skittles and an Icee as my movie treats.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend doing the things you enjoy and enjoying the things that you do!

Disney: The Owl House doesn't fit the Disney brand!

Also Disney: Shows a main character getting stabbed through the chest in the season 2 finale, then has that same character get tortured and painfully possessed in her next major appearance. All on screen. With sound. Jesus.

I beat Sunshine 100% for the community challenge. I am free. And just before Pokémon comes out, too. I got a bit of free time. Not enough for a completely new game, especially since I'm still playing Happy Home Paradise on the side. But...I did get this in the mail not too long ago.

I know DQXI leans hard on being the "old school 90s JRPG" almost to a fault, and even I have thought at times while playing that this was more how I had hoped a modern Final Fantasy would be, but goddamn yall, another lunar whale????? 🤣
 
Overheard at Walmart: "I think they wanted a Nintendo for Christmas this year...........Switch. I think that's what it was called. We should order one now because it might be out later..."

It's comforting knowing that no matter how many years and generation pass, there will always be folks talking about buying "a Nintendo".

My favorite thing about this (overall surprisingly sad and affecting scene) is that it nails one of the things I love about DQ11: Everything is explained and has a reason for it, even things that in other games would just be handwaved away:
My first reaction when the world tree was destroyed was “wow shouldn’t everyone be dead? There’s no way they survived that, realistically speaking”. Of course they did survive, but I just wrote it off as the heroes being resilient and the usual video game “heroes always live through giant falls and explosions somehow” trope. EXCEPT much to my surprise this scene actually explains how they survived, and it still had consequences but all makes sense!
It’s moments like this that I love throughout act 2 and 3.

P5 vanilla took me almost half a year to ultimately complete, and I seriously regret playing it that way. It definitely took away from the experience for me. But that's simply how these things play out in my case as well with long ass home console titles. Everything that's longer than, say, 50-60h is a serious commitment of my time, and I can't say that most games have been worth it.

DIC was such a big part of my childhood. The Mario cartoons, the Sonic ones, Inspector Gadget, ugh, those were some good Saturday mornings.

I remember absolutely nothing about Inspector Gadget besides the ludicrously catchy theme song. Which is actually a pretty common pattern in kids cartoons of that era, now that I think about it.

Yes!! It clicked on my second try and holy hell I love it. The Mantis Lords fight is what sealed the deal for me. Incredible game.

..the sequel title is something more Nintendo-y like "1-2-Switch Up!" ....because it'll release alongside the Dane model which will be called the "Nintendo Switch Up" with the "Up" in a spiky word balloon like they did with the "New" in NSMB.

Don't jump to conclusions. Nintendo has produced a lot of mediocrity over the past 20 years.

Maybe you're getting a sequel to Flip Wars.
 
Imagine making a 1-2 Switch/Flip Wars/Amiibo Festival sequel when Nintendo Land is a thing that exists and is currently forever trapped on the Wii U.
