Nonsense, it’ll be Prime 4’s time to shine!
So today, I have been informed by me source that Prime 4 is a game, my source saw it played and it looks good, the name is Metroid Prime 4.

But joking aside, the DK will probably be just right after that, altough this one will be held by false hope spread by the people like it's Open world/3D.

Trailer #3 tying the disparate elements of the other trailers and teasers together to finally make a congruent whole, with a mild amount of new revealing footage and a banger new piece of music would do just fine, please and thank you.

Also gentle reminder that kids who played BotW as 12-year old whippersnappers are now adults. You're welcome. Don't forget your dentures on the way out.

Tears of the Kingdom will release 6 years after Breath of the wild. That is more time, than the time between Majoras Mask and Twilight Princess. And during Twilight Princess's release, they shortly after had retro games up for sale in the Wii virtual console. Which included Majoras Mask. In another time, BotW would be available on a virtual console for $10.

Don't know enough dungeon music by heart to make a top 10 list. I just want to say that Skyward Sword's soundtrack - even the non-orchestrated tracks - is incredible. Skyview Temple, Sand Sea, Ancient Cistern, Sneaking Around Eldin...

Tinfoil Theory: Cutting loose from on-board MIDI did wonders for the arrangement quality, even if they're still essentially using stock Garageband sounds.

Final Trial is also a delicious slow burn, and despite what I just said about Skyward Sword's non-orchestrated tracks being great, the jump in quality audio-wise from SS to BotW is RIDICULOUS. How they made such an enormous jump in production values from SS to BotW in general is beyond me.

Also: Lorule Castle.

THE PAIN and this is without handheld entries even xD

Crazy how much less productive gamedev has become over the decades because of the endlessly rising costs of development.

Look how far we've come. 8 years ago.

It was also announced the same day that it will not be at E3. Next update was 8 months later in November with 14 second teaser.

I hope y'all charged up your inner Ted Lasso's over the weekend, it's time to believe in this week. My gut told me, and my gut and i have a very deep connection.

Disclaimer: I know nothing and am not an insider/leaker or in the know or anything. I just believe.

Honestly at this point if the ST title isn't:

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom |ST| From the lands of Hyrule to the skies above

Then I am going to be severely disappointed. I mean, it's fitting and it's a meme; what's not to love?

Do we know who's making it so we can badger them about it? :p

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom |ST| AAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa puff

Oh, I posted on the wrong thread, so here goes a copy&paste.

For me, that "change the world" is the entire reason why they are reusing the same map. At this point of time, with 6 years of development, it's obvious that they are not reusing the map in order to save costs or shorten the developmeny. They are doing it because the entire premise of the world only works in an already known environment. I'm 100% convinced that it would have been much easier for them to just replicate Breath of the Wild in another map, but Aonuma and his team is aiming for something bigger and we will realise when the game is in our hands.

I'm a bit skeptical about this whole concept of "changing the world" and how far it can go, not because I have no faith in the team, but because I have no faith in the switch hardware...The development team must have done some magic work in order to make it happen I guess.

Six years is a bit of a misnomer since COVID undoubtedly had impact on development. I still wonder if there is a universe where TotK comes out in 2021.

I think everyone is setting themselves up for some big twist like two worlds, time travel, Minecraft-sequel terraforming etc, but it’s very likely that they really aren’t hiding anything huge like that. You will explore the sky and ground (and maybe the underground) and do the typical exploration stuff with shrines/dungeons scattered about.

Personally I've never considered "two worlds" and "time travel" as big twists since they've already been done before, and both of them could harm the seamlessness of the open world experience, so I don't actually like those ideas too much. As for the "Minecraft-sequel terraforming", I don't think switch can handle that.

I do think Nintendo is purposely hiding the potentially enormous underground area tho.

It's April 12th, Nintendo uploads finally a new trailer for tears of the kingdom, aonuma appears in a black screen.
eiji-aonuma.jpg

It's finally happening, he starts to talk and then,

That was the final trailer for tears of the kingdom releasing may 12th, in this game you'll nit only be able to explore the lucius land of hyrule and it's vast sky but you'll be able to change the world as you see fit.

I think Nintendo would find a simple enough solution for terraforming that would run on Switch. Maybe you can’t do it whenever but just at predetermined points, idk.

Please don’t invest yourself in this “change the world” tagline before anything substantial is confirmed, y’all.

My theory on "change the world" isnt some crafting or Minecraft level of world building. My theory is that the game involves time travel and as you conquer areas and remove Ganondorfs influence from the world you are returning chunks of it to its pre-calamity time where Hyrule was intact and prosperous. So parts of the map will exist in the destroyed state while others will be restored and their past infrastructure and people brought back.

Yeah, that's a reasonable theory. I think that the Zonai could play a key part in this as well, assisting Link in his restoration of Hyrule.

I think people misunderstood Aonuma's words. What he wanted to say was heal the world, make it a better place, for you and for me and the entire human race

Just a heads up for anyone who is waiting for some info today/this week or any other potentital day/week.

The tweet always comes hour from now (22:00 JST) or (23:00 JST). It's always random and the "General Direct is always announced at 23:00 JST" does not really apply here. It's either one of these two, nothing else.

Changing the world or not, I feel like it should be fairly obvious that the team didn't take the "reuse the map" route because it was safer, for the simple reason that it isn't safer

One of the things I'm thinking about is that, if the landmasses of Hyrule is supposed to be in some way taken over now completely by malice in this game, which is sort of implied (though not necessarily true), I would want Hyrule to look like literal hell. While some footage looks a bit moodier than usual, in a lot of shots Hyrule just kinda looks...the same? In OoT I imagine it was a lot of technical reasons why the negative effects of Ganondorf's takeover of Hyrule felt slightly constrained to a couple of areas and aspects of the world, and in BotW they had a sort of valid story reason as to why most of Hyrule was fairly peaceful (though I wish more people in the world talked about the Calamity). Here, though? If Ganondorf and his malice has taken over I want the apocalypse.

I just realized the funny thing, after TotK comes out, Nintendo YouTubers will lost most of their rumor content so suddenly they will start to care about Pikmin, the game most of them didn't care at all.
Let's be realistic; they're going to nitpick every single TotK technical shortcoming and bitch about how we don't have a Switch 2 yet and how Nintendo is waiting too long. There will be some partial truth to that but it'll mostly be hyperbole.

The Switch has access to over double the RAM and twice the raw performance of Wii U, with far more modern features, and is easier to work with.

It'll be fine. It might even be a reconstructed 1080p a-la Nier Automata.

You first need to tell me what this "tomorrow rumor" is! ;D

Apparently someone at PAX told Nintendo Prime and some other Nintendo YouTubers to expect TotK news (we have no idea what) tomorrow.

Hard to say if this rumour has any merit, but the most likely thing to announce is the OLED, and an announcement tomorrow made calendar sense, even a few weeks ago. I think we could certainly get more than just the OLED announced this week too.
