This is going to be a really meaty Ask the Developer and then after release probably making of videos BOTW style. Not to mention the japanese CEDEC or GDC presentations down the line that will be even more detailed.

We were talking about the dungeon themes the other day, just asked chatgpt to list the 10 best Zelda dungeon themes and it seems that it's pretty fond of Ocarina of Time...XD
The top 5 order isn't the same as mine but it's a good selection anyway.

Here are ten more of the best Zelda dungeon themes, without including Gerudo's Fortress:

To be on topic, the hype level is good. We know we've got a nintendo level quality game coming up. In the meantime, revisiting botw is my main focus as I'm sure part of totk strength will be to leverage the changes made compared to the first map. Some posters talked of confidence on nintendo's side. I'm inclined to agree as if I were in their place, I'd love to flex a surprise really late reveal of "well you see, it's not really the same overword map after all..."

What do we think are the chances of there being a DLC pass at launch?

BotW had one, but that had been finished for quite some time when it had launched with the Switch.

If so, what could it include? Can’t get away with another Switch shirt!

Just thought it could be an interesting discussion to fill half a page!
 
I'm 100% expecting the next Game Informer cover reveal to be Tears of the Kingdom, whenever it ends up getting revealed.

If we do get the GI cover story there could be some there, but yeah I’m not expecting as much as BotW got for sure

The March one was revealed on the 7th

If it’s around that timeframe it’ll be before the April 12th date we’re predicting, which’ll be interesting because I think Nintendo would want the final trailer out before the GI cover story goes in depth. So maybe we really do get this week

They've revealed covers in the late month before, it all depends on the timing they set with the publisher in case the publisher (in this case, Nintendo) wants to do something before or after the cover reveal so there's really no way to tell when it will happen if it happens.
 
Doesn't looks like there are other releases that could claim front page instead of totk. So yeah, really depends on nintendo's schedule.

Anybody know if it has ever happened that we get the cover before the trailer, but GI releases after the trailer?

I just looked at the last few cover reveals, and it either happens on the last week of the month or the first week.

EDIT: Or the second week, wtf, why is nothing consistent...

Oh, that's the cover reveals but I meant when the actual magazine releases, this at least needs to be consistent.

You know, while I'd omit the OoT Fire Temple from at least the top 5 (and perhaps from the whole list, to be honest), I agree quite a bit with that list. Those other four from OoT are the best themes in the game, in particular from the Forest- and Spirit Temple, and IMO the best in the series.

I somewhat covered this topic in the prediction thread. But, when Sonic Frontiers was the cover reveal, GI had articles, gameplay, and small reveals throughout the month. Elden Ring also had staggered announcements.

So they can most definitely do a cover reveal and article with the magazine, followed up by bigger GI reveals after Nintendo does their thing.

Thanks. I still definitely won't think they will get as extensive look at it as for BOTW. They can show some new screenshots, interview with Aonuma/Fujibayashi and that's it. The fact that even Skyward Sword had it's Game Informer cover makes me think there is no way TotK won't.

I only agree if they are talking about the original fire temple song. The "new" one doesn't work for me.

1. Stone Tower Temple (normal and inverted)
2. Divine Beast Vah Rudania
3. Divine Beast Vah Ruta
4. Spirit Temple
5. Lanayru Mining Facility
6. Water Temple
7. Divine Beast Vah Naboris
8. Sandship
9. Lorule Castle
10. Hyrule Castle BotW

Some from ALBW I’m prob forgetting and I haven’t listened to TP’s in a while so
