Dang, I’m actually really hyped for this potentially happening this week. Would be great for Wednesday or Thursday showing. If it’s Wednesday, it’ll likely get announced in the morning right when I’m off work. :p

Yet people try to claim Nate doesn't know what he's talking about smh my head

Edit: shit I initially read that as "not just sexy" and that's what I was responding to but now I disagree dammit

Kinda like the equivalent of having a big lunch and then just a snack for dinner

That's right, my expectations are nonexistent
LOL. Search deep in your heart, you know it is true.

Mario Sluggers? No! Mario no Natsuyasumi, where it is possible to catch and raise slugs probably? Yes!

Free Yeah! for anyone who includes Style Savvy in their predictions.

Which is basically no one so far.

Style Savvy: Fashion Warriors, a new collaboration between Nintendo and KT.

So, I don't get this concept that 2D Mario is small in any way. New Super Mario Bros Wii and New Super Mario Bros on DS sold 30M units each. New Super Mario Bros 2 on 3DS sold nearly 14M. New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe has sold 13M as of March 2021. A new 2D mario sale would easilyyyy sell 20M, it would be a juggernaut.
I don't mean in terms of sales alone I feel their heavy hitters are treated as an event and besides the Wii U launch of NSMBU they haven't treated it in such a way.
this direct has SO MUCH potential
Tbh it's the first direct with much left unknown in awhile

im shocked that Style Savvy is seen as beloved by people on these boards and is it first party or third party?
I think for most people its a meme, I think the more unironic fans are me, @Tangerine_Cookie and someone else I'm forgetting

It's done by Syn Sophia (who funnily enough used to do wrestling games) but Nintendo gave the previous games decent advertising in the past. It tends to get a bit more love in Europe than NA, IIRC one of the games was held back in NA compared to Europe

they haven't treated it as an event since... the last time they made one?

I feel like this past week has helped me finally understand Einstein's Theory of Relativity.
Cos the last 7 days have felt like 7 years.

My prediction from last year was kinda off, not even Advance Wars had been released. So let's try it again.

February - Nintendo Direct / Advance Wars 1+2 Reboot Camp (Shadowdrop)
March - Ring Fit Horseman;
April - Link‘s Horse Ride Training; Mariokart Wave 4
May - The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
June - Rythm Heaven: on the hooves;
July - Nintendo Direct Mini, Nintendogs + Cats + Horses;
August - Pikmin 4: Captain Olimar on Pony Island; Mariokart Wave 5
September - Nintendo Direct, Tomodachi 2 - now with the horse introduced in Miitopia for Switch
October - Metroid Prime Remaster; The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom: The Stable DLC; Bringing back the Stables from BOTW
November - Red Steel 3: Kong Attack; Detective Pikachu 2: Ponyta on Fire
December - Super Mario: Let's get this saddled Mariokart Wave 6

Hmmm

I’ll be incredibly disappointed if Prime 4 shows but it’s only cinematically and not gameplay. You can’t go this long showing absolutely nothing to then have the long awaited showing not even show what the game looks/plays like.
well they would at least give it a release window if they do that

Unfortunately Style Savvy repeteadly gets heavily disliked with many comments about "Why is Nintendo wasting money on a girl's game" so I don't know if that game will ever get the Direct treatment it deserves. Too many people are just too childish about a video game company.

I'm prepared for this kind of thing because a) there's no reason to give us too much more while "Tears" will continue to dominate most of the marketing focus for the next few months anyway and b) at least showing us SOMETHING, after all this time, is enough to whet our appetites. I just hope it's "in-game engine", at least.

After that, they could elect to show us more at a later date. June at the very earliest, but I lean more towards September. Maybe even December, if Doritos Pope was able to hustle.

Meaning 1,Wii,2 and the switch port weren't really treated that way
I'd argue that NSMB1 and Wii were treated like big events. The former sold itself on being the first new original 2D Mario game in over a decade (huh, sounds familiar) and the latter sold itself on being the first 2D Mario game with 4-player co-op, even getting a big E3 reveal and marketing campaign highlighting that.

I mean, seven years after Pikmin 4 was announced, they gave us a screensaver for its re-reveal, lol.

hahahaha I love that these stupid AIs are perfect emulations of human bullshitters

paragraphs

"that's wrong though

"yes of course sorry for the oversight, I meant to say" paragraphs

technology is amazing

You're wrong because human bullshiters don't ask for apologies even when being proven wrong

Watch retro studios do exactly that and still make everyone thirsty for the game lmao (mp4 was the most talked nintendo game of e3 2017 on twitter and the second most talked game in general)

People want to see two things mainly: how the game looks and how the game feels like. As long as the cinematic trailer show the game's vision, how the world might be and what are the game's pretensions towards narrative nobody will mind.

Furthermore im expecting mp4 to be a late 2024 release so i bet it will look very unfinished and gamers dont understand "work in progress" (luigi's mansion 3, dead space remake, gta 6). In a game like this its very important for it to look as good and as finished as it possibly can.

Advance Diplomacy
Plays like Advance Wars except every unit is some form of lawyer and they do battle by engaging in Phoenix Wright style debates. You need to gather evidence from specific points on the map. Oh no I want this.

"Why is Nintendo wasting money on a girl's game"
I don’t think this will be a problem for Nintendo who was quite willing to dedicate a chunk of their Direct to DC Superhero Girls

Someone, anyone needs to make this game a reality. Call it Advance Peace.

I hope that it dosen‘t get announced today and that we can make 69 pages until tomorrow. I really want that gift card.

The last direct wasnt that bad but the amount of farming sims backfired, made it seem lesser. I wonder if nintendo will ever do somrthing like that again
Either September Direct or June if there is one...
I can see them showing again whichever one of those that is already announced, probably 2D Mario, on its blowout trailer, that's the holiday game. Then there's a trailer for the next 2.5D Donkey Kong Country game, full of fresh ideas, references, mechanics, maybe some 3D sections, that's what EPD 8 was cooking. (Idk maybe a world map that resembles a hub world of a 3D platformer or like that of Forgotten Land). Coming spring or summer 2024. Either a big DLC or a more of the same game for Kirby and the Forgotten Land, coming in February! Super Mario 3D Next revealed with a 2024 release year.
Boom, Nintendo platformers galore Direct.

(Also features late port announcement for Psychonauts 2 and something Yoshi).

That's the secret for Nintendo's next hardware. They needed to delay it because there's been a Pikmin shortage
Let‘s hope those Pikmin are only there for aesthetic reasons. I‘m still convinced that the WiiU Menu was so slow because the Pikmin couldn‘t keep up with managing the storage with their short legs.
