Why are details of this game 100x more secure than US government documents?

I bet May 12th doesn’t have anything to do with the game, that May 12th 2023 date is just the release for the next trailer.Nintendo doesn't want people to be excited or hyped for the game.

Because Nintendo terrorizes their employees to stop leaks. They take it surprisingly hard, at least from when Kit and Krysta talk about it. And it does seem that Nintendo has tightened the ship even more. Why are details of this game 100x more secure than US government documents?
I just watched that video from Kit and Krysta and it’s an interesting take of what it feel likes at Nintendo before a big game releases and just how threatened the employees feel. It’s funny they even mention the Nintendo ninjas several times when they were worried about potentially leaking info on Smash early.Because Nintendo terrorizes their employees to stop leaks. I have the same thought. I also think it is just a placeholder for now and only when they show the box in a Nintendo video of sorts or when you can finally preorder it on the Nintendo shop, will we actually know for sure what the cover art will be. It might end up being this current one, but I still won't trust until Nintendo officially shows it off lolI have one question regarding the cover: Do we have any confirmation that the key art we all know is the final cover?Because I still have in mind the possibility that it is just some kind of placeholder, given that it's the only official artwork of the game that has been published.
not suprizing at all. Just think about how much hype control, marketing push, marketing deals, etc are connected to stuff like revealing smash characters, the new zelda, etc.I just watched that video from Kit and Krysta and it’s an interesting take of what it feel likes at Nintendo before a big game releases and just how threatened the employees feel. Yeah, that was really great.I really hope they do a 'the making of TotK' youtube series again

I had to go watch a video to work out which hand Link uses in BOTW and it's his right hand.Nintendo Australia released this yesterday, kind of neat.

Oh, that was not meant negative. On the oposite, without any changes, just putting BotWs loop but on islands would work perfectly fine. You should let your imagination run wild. The risk of exploration is higher in the sky as you can fall off or have some king of flying device like in the trailer to traverse big distances. It changes things up plus I like the feeling of exploring small patches of land in the sky. Don't know what it is but it gives me a cozy kind of feeling.
I've been to Japan once before about 5 years ago. I've been excited to go back for a while now. I've had plans to go in 2020, but Covid-19 forced me to postpone it to 2021, and now finally I'm able to go. And yes, I've already gotten my tickets for Super Nintendo World!
That's just at thing with me and movies. Unless there's something I'm super interested in, I feel like I want to know what happens in the movie without sitting 1-2 hours actually watching it. The last time I was invested in a movie was probably Avengers: Endgame. But I'm not a movie connoisseur and was only really interested in Marvel movies for a time.
Anyway, yeah, my hype for the game is subdued, but for sure it's my most anticipated game of the year. I'm sure when the Direct is announced I'll be more visibly excited.
We've got a lot of food places on our list! Midnight/early morning runs to 7-Eleven were great when I went to Japan the first time, haha. I just hope my small appetite keeps up with the many things I want to eat.
I agree and another GDC presentation about TotK. Here is the BOTW one:I really hope they do a 'the making of TotK' youtube series again
Speaking of this. It's on the Switch news app. The image would make a really cool poster, that aside I love how Link's name has like five origin stories. LolNintendo Australia released this yesterday, kind of neat.

Thread's dead, baby. Nintendo pls move the February 8th direct to this week thx
Actually its about the only thing worth contributing to everyday, since we are forced to come up with our own Marketing and own ideas for the game.Thread's dead, baby. Nintendo pls move the February 8th direct to this week thx

New?Yeah. It’s odd that we haven’t get a proper trailer but we already know the exact release date.
Guess this is some new approach and they may try in the future for some games, regardless of the name or the franchise.
Splatoon 3 appeared in two 2021 Directs, then again in February last year, then it got a Twitter-dropped gameplay video and another trailer in September, plus a dedicated Direct in August. And some of those were pretty lengthy. TOTK has three teasers so far.New?
Have people already forgotten Splatoon 3's weirdo advertising?

But Splatoon is not Zelda. If there was E3 lat year we probably would have got longer trailer + demo already. When next Zelda is announced it will be once again 3+ years before it's release and people will say that it will release soon.Splatoon 3 appeared in two 2021 Directs, then again in February last year, then it got a Twitter-dropped gameplay video and another trailer in September, plus a dedicated Direct in August. Just to get out from under the Nintendo Ninjas as well, it’s got to be like being released from prison almost. I’m always thankful and greatful for the Devs who deserve every penny they earn. Can't imagine how must it feel for developers when the game is finally released.

Yeah it did. Zelda is far more cryptic and everything. Going to sell the game that is sequel to one of the greatest game of all times is far more easier than sell you a sequel on multiplayer shooter that already had one instalment on the Switch. We don't know if it would've unfolded that way or not. But that's not the point. The point is: there's a huge difference between these two games on that aspect. Splatoon got a lot more exposure, period.
I think it also depends if there is something Nintendo and the Zelda Team think there is something truly groundbreaking in this game on rather they will have it playable at PAX, it could go either way. If there is something completely new and different, it makes sense that we haven’t seen anything with that in mind. Splatoon was just more Splatoon with some cool new features, it needed the Marketing to sell it all over again IMO.This has been weird marketing cycle. With out E3's I'm curious how they go about showing gameplay. Will this even be played by anyone before reviewers get their hand on it? Will this be at PAX?
If that's what one means: Breath of the Wild's wacky advertising happened.?
Splatoon 3 showed a lot more before its release, than TotK has so far. And that’s without counting that Splatoon 3 was announced way after TotK and has already been released.
Because it got its own dedicated direct and a pre-release advertising bash.We don't know if it would've unfolded that way or not. But that's not the point. The point is: there's a huge difference between these two games on that aspect. Splatoon got a lot more exposure, period.
Oh godSplatoon 3 was pretty similar to TotK's cycle. A hype trailer announcement, radio silence, two boring teasers that revealed very little (the campaign and Salmon Run ones), then a gameplay sequence to reveal the release date that once again showed almost nothing of the new stuff. And a month before release, the community was angsty because they didn't know what the game actually was in terms of new stuff. Then the direct happened and finally revealed everything. The only thing it had over TotK is a semi active japanese twitter account that would tease some stuff.
New Horizons was even worse. It released in March but until February we had nothing since the E3 showcase. Those are the last three big releases from EPD.
I'm still shocked at how we don't have TP/WW HD on the console by it's sixth year. The franchise exploded and they are already remaster AND they love porting Wii U games on Switch. Literally why hasn't it been done ?
There will be no Kirby's Return to Dreamland trash talking in this thread or so help me godMake of it what you will but it seems like the bulk of the most requested ports are the ones Nintendo has consistently ignored. Zelda: Twilight Princes, Zelda: Wind Waker, Metroid Prime Trilogy, Super Mario Galaxy 2, Yoshi's Wooly World, several Paper Mario games, etc. So many games are constantly asked for almost daily and Nintendo has consistently ignored the pleas while giving us stuff nobody has asked for like Kirby's Return to Dreamland complete with remade visuals. Why? I have no idea but yeah it sucks.
There's a myriad of reasons. For one it was never a guaranteed thing, people just kept "leaking" it because it makes sense since they're "already remastered." However that's not really the best reason to assume Nintendo would waste the time to port them, as while they are already remastered you can't just press a switch and put them on the switch. They have to be retailored for the systems different architecture, and elements exclusive to the Wii U Remasters need to be removed or changed like the Tingle Bottles and Stamps. Ergo they'd have to spend some level of time and money on them, and it simply just may not be worth it to Nintendo when they know they probably can't or at least, public image wise, shouldn't, charge people $60 for each of these games again, meaning a lesser profit for them for work that is frankly not super important or crucial. Moreover the 3D Remasters honestly don't feel like they were made as ports for money or anything, they're more of a anniversary thing, I mean:I'm still shocked at how we don't have TP/WW HD on the console by it's sixth year. That's what I'm thinking, itll show what you can or cant phase through, like how stasis highlights objects you can stop/freeze.Looks like another optimization method, used for drawing transparent objects while reducing processing load.
Guessing they want to express transparent surfaces to indicate which parts of a wall you could enter?
