Maybe Nintendo have a great line up of games ready to be released for Switch and that's why they're delaying Switch 2 launch

I don't think Nintendo likes the ideas of cross-gen titles especially if there's too many of them. It doesn't make sense to make all the upcoming games cross-gen. I don't think Switch games benefit that much from a resolution bump imo not enough to be a driving force to upgrade to Switch 2

Nintendo will push Switch 2 with original titles where the jump from Switch is very apparent and can be advertised

Being hyper negative just because of a podcast and speculation seems excessive to me. Asking for the closure of a thread because people express pessimistic opinions there seems to me just as excessive.
That's actually not why I suggested a thread be closed but alright. I literally listed my reasoning in the thread itself. It's gotten too toxic(besides being useless rn). How that can be conflated as "pessimistic opinions" is so insane it's asinine.
Yep, i feel like thats a slippery slope to “only positive nintendo opinions are tolerated here”
Isn't putting words in someone's mouth also a slippery slope lmfao?

Yeah this place is not fun right now lmao. People are literally digging into their preconceived beliefs, especially in the hardware thread, and being weird. I have no clue why it's(hardware thread) still allowed to be open but whatever. I genuinely think the mod team should reconsider leaving it open for the time being. Then again they may think it will keep the hardware talk there, which definitely doesn't happen haha.
it's 2023 with no sign of new hardware. bad vibes on the nintendo forum are not a policy failure

On the other hand, we're three weeks into 2023 and every HD system that isn't Wii U went 7 years (8 for Xbox 360) before a successor launched. Perspective is definitely skewed on these parts (not that I advocate closing the hardware thread at all).

Regarding the Direct, I hope we get to see the Switch version of Marvel Midnight Suns in action. Been holding off on that for this version in particular.

yeah I'll happily entertain metacommentary as a community on what we should and shouldn't focus on but implying the mods are neglecting some sort of issue rubs me the wrong way

Yeah I'm not talking about "bad vibes," just pure toxicity. The thread is also pointless.
for the most part they're discussing a nvidia leak and have a great community. calling another thread pointless in the annual "wow the direct was in february again" thread is silly

I really don't feel like derailing the thread with a silly argument.

I use to be on that horrible place called era and i wanted to find somewhere for fellow Nintendo gamers alike! Everyone here seems nice : P

Hi there, thank you for the compliment We are glad that you are enjoying yourself here. Just so you know, we would prefer if everyone avoided taking shots at other communities. We like to keep Famiboards a warm place and open to everyone.

Hope you stick around for a long time:)

You know what, I'mma allow myself to hope regardless of impossible likelihood. Gamecube remasters/remakes/NSO emulation/in some way accessible on my Switch that I would love to see. Not ordered beyond Custom Robo at the top because A) it's the best, and 2) I can't be arsed to go nitty gritty on details

Custom Robo
Chibi Robo
F-Zero GX
Luigi's Mansion
Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door
Pokemon Colosseum
Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness
Pikmin
Pikmin 2
Starfox Adventures* (higher priority to me than Assault)
Starfox Assault
Super Smash Bros Melee (strictly for casual play; this is not to make Melee purists happy.)

Third party games:
Amazing Island
Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg
Freedom Fighters
Phantasy Star Online: Episode 1 & 2 Plus
The Simpsons: Road Rage (I know Hit & Run is more popular, but I liked my Crazy Taxi re-skin more)
Sonic Adventure DX
Sonic Adventure 2: Battle (With connectivity to the NSO GBA app with Sonic Advance/Chao Garden)
Soul Calibur II (HD with all three guest characters, Bamco. Fuck. Why am I still asking for it now a generation later after it released?)
SSX Tricky
Timesplitter 2
Timesplitters: Future Perfect
Worms 3D

I think that covers everything that would get me to shut up about Nintendo supporting the Gamecube and keep me quietly sedated on nostalgia.

Agree to disagree. I'm not going to bother further if people just want to misconstrue when I'm saying.

And yet you felt like putting words in my mouth, which I'm obviously going to call out. So to save us from continuing this I'm just gonna use the ignore feature.

Hey Josh, you're very welcome. My bad on that, it won't happen again. It does seem like a cool place!

I wonder how many additional switches the Mario movie will sell? I’m sure there’s tons of people out there who do not own a switch, who may be interested. Wether that be due to nostalgia for the brand or newcomers.
Also, I think it's almost guaranteed that the Switch itself will appear in the movie.

Yes i think thats a good idea for us both, hope you enjoy the rest of your day : )

The Mario movie boost followed up immediately by the TOTK boost will be a sight to behold, yeah.

Close that thread and you close the only place on the internet actively discussing and asking questions about the NVN2 leaks and other puzzle pieces detailed in the OP. No where else cares.

To make it little less harware heavy here, I present you the video of all "skits" during Directs in the Switch era, constantly updating it when something new appears.

* I know that E3 2017 Spotlight and Switch Presentation are not really labeled as Directs but I wanted to have it as a complete package.

You are absolutely right. If Nintendo's next piece of hardware came out in, say, the spring of 2024, then Nintendo would just be adopting the same generational gap that currently exists between the PS4 and PS5 and between the Xbox One and the Xbox Series.

You always find people to respond that we haven't had a mid-gen model, but as far as I know there are no PS4 Pro nor Xbox One X exclusive games, which means plenty of people have played 7 years on the PS4 or on their Xbox One without that length of time being an abomination to either gamers or developers. As you say, it's good to put things in perspective.

Very excited to see Iron Man's Air Superiority card on Switch, given that it tanks the framerate on PS5 lol

I do wonder if Switch 2 will have new style controllers or stick to joycons?
I have a feeling they'll make some minor adjustments to the interior of the joycons, but nothing that would really break compatibility with the old controllers to be used. At most I earnestly expect they'll be using magnetic hall effect sensors with JoyCon+, and less likely (but a welcome change) would be the return of analog triggers to it and the pro controllers.

If they really wanted to impress us though, they'd follow up on that patent years ago with the scrollable bumper trigger. I envision it as a rubber tread on a track to minimize how much space it takes up while giving the illusion of being a tactile full wheel hidden inside the controller.

finally, every bearable moment of the switch era

Dude SAME 😂 Neon red and blue at launch, yellow/green from Super Mario Party, Odyssey Red I imported from Japan through PlayAsia, and orange/purple with Luigi's Mansion 3. Tacking on to that list is the Smash Bros Pro controller, another pro controller I bought from a friend used and modded with green and purple reflective handles and magnetic sticks, and the NSO N64 controller (...do we also count the ring-con from Ring Fit Adventure?), I've never spent so much on hardware accessories before in a single generation and god help me they all better work for the next console 😂

We're the same XD! Honestly i've spend so much on JoyCons than any other controllers and don't get me standed on case either XD! Please work on the next Switch please LMAO

I hope they do. Or at least options for different shapes/sizes. The joycon are so small they crampy hands, and I got silicon covers for them that sorta thicken them up in the back so they're more comfortable in my palms. Still fits in the carrying case just fine, obviously still fits in a dock, so I see no reason why Nintendo couldn't do it as an option. New official joycons that have a slightly bigger, fuller shape would be great.

After playing tunic some while ago they really gotta release a new top down zelda. Been really craving a new adventure. Yea I know tears of the kingdom is coming but announcing a new top down Zelda adventure at the direct would be ace!

Soul Calibur II (HD with all three guest characters, Bamco. Fuck. Why am I still asking for it now a generation later after it released?)
Honestly, after the game got delisted on Xbox, I wouldn't be shocked to see this get re-remastered. The only problem is I just see them doing the original GameCube release with tacked on online play. A definitive version seems like a pipe dream at this point.

It's a very lovely Place with kind and nice people. Just make sure that the Raccoon Is regularly feeded.

Don't worry. I am sure Grezzo is making it by using the Link's Awakening engine and art style.

Please be true.
