i guess to explain my reasoning for being team February is because i'm expecting the final Mario movie trailer around the super bowl and a direct seems like a good place to show it off

Patterns and logic - two things that have certainly never stopped Nintendo in the past - point to Jan 25/26 as the first statistically likely date for a Direct (following the "week after release of a major title" logic), but...like...it's gonna be February. I'm penciling in the 9th at 5pm EST.

Oh damn, caught in 4K lmao, I didn't even notice that. Logic points to anything around the Wednesday/Thursday after Engage comes out, but that's not going to happen. Patterns in the Switch era point to Feb. I always follow Nintendo patterns - this is how I win lose every time

  • F-Zero Ultra GP is slated to appear with a long trailer , with a tentative release of summer, 2023. Other games of the series are on the way.

  • Pokémon Conquest 2 is presented with a long trailer , and it will be available Q3, 2023. DLC and more content is being planned for this title.

  • Pushmo for Switch is announced with an overview trailer , and slated for release Jun, 20 2023. More info will be given in an upcoming Direct.

  • Excitebike Switch is announced. I don't know how it will appear, but I've seen a surprise trailer . Release date is shown as Q2, 2023. DLC and more content is being planned for this title.

  • Super Mario RPG + Desolation of Wart, remake of Super Mario RPG for the SNES, is announced. I don't know how it will appear, but I've seen a trailer , and slated for release Q3, 2023. Other games of the series are on the way.

  • Donkey Kong Country Trilogy HD, remake collection of Donkey Kong Country Trilogy for the SNES, is first shown in an overview trailer , and slated for release Q3, 2023. Exclusive to the Switch Pro.

  • Kid Icarus Uprising Definitive Edition, remake of Kid Icarus Uprising for the 3DS, is a new title in the series, announced in a short teaser , and a release date for holiday, 2023. No more information is given.

  • Final Fantasy XV is coming to Switch. It uses a special 64GB cartridge. To be released 2023

It's also a still from a video, so folks would have had to take similar stills before for them to even show up in the image search.

I don't personally think it's real, but it's easy to reverse search so I popped it in just in case, and lo and behold my fashion icon for 2023 has been chosen.
 
it goes against my belief that in direct time everything should go in the direct thread but "4chan user shops takahashi in a new suit as a direct leak" deserves its own thread
 
I feel like the "leaks" where they post an image from a direct are the weakest. If you're going that far with a genuine direct you've gotten your hands on early, wouldn't you just post the whole thing, or at least something more exciting than a title or a picture of the presenter?

If you obtained a Direct video early and just fully leaked it, you have 5 minutes of internet fame, but when Nintendo gets you, there's a big chance an asteroid strike on earth leaves you less wasted than Nintendo.

If you leak little things no one's interested in, Nintendo might let you have your own money again in 10 years!

Now, I have some good news and bad news to share with you today.

First, the good news. Yes, we have been preparing a Nintendo Direct to share the latest news on upcoming Nintendo Switch games and more! Now the bad news is that I lost the USB stick with the file of the recording of said Direct. I must have dropped it at the Pakistani restaurant I visited recently. Because of this, we decided to cancel the upcoming Direct. I haven't told Takahashi-san yet, but I'm sure he will understand... Please understand, Takahashi-san.

But rest assured! I have called the restaurant and went to eat there again last night. I can proudly announce that the biryani is very good!
It has given me some new ideas for my next game, so stay tuned for that... If I ever decide to make a new game that is.

But that is all for today, thank you again for your undying support, despite us not listening to our fans and refusing to announce our next system. Bye-bye!
