It's still shitty for Nintendo to do that, especially with how Switch is selling. Clearly, that marketing office did their job very well.
 
Fucked up to just close an office with 100 employees. I hope that everyone who is willing to make the move can relocate to Redmond and everyone else lands on their feet.
 
Hell yeah, my N64 monstrosity has been delivered! As soon as I get back home I can indulge in all the nostalgia I can handle!
 
Yea that’s pretty fucked-up of Nintendo =\. Here’s hoping those laid off get picked-up very fast.

I hope remote work would be viable in the Covid-stricken 2020s, but Nintendo isn’t a cutting edge business in many ways. Moving your family across multiple states is a huge burden.

but if you have to ask, the answer is always “don’t fucking do it” and also probably “don’t joke about it even with fictional characters”

Edit: Sorry if this is extra hostile but I think the joke was in really poor taste and we shouldn’t make light of that shit, here or anywhere.

Or they might be closing down the the office because of remote work. Having an office in the Bay area can be pricey if things can be handled remotely, companies will often close regional offices and consolidate in one, cheaper location. I had a friend move to Texas because his wife's company closed down their Northeast office and moved everyone to the Texas HQ.

I'm finding this a bit weird because the director said they were gonna support the game for 3+ years iirc?

Yeah, major content is apparently done with the 5th November update + Happy Home Paradise. But I believe they will support with seasonal events for years to come.

Big same. Felt good going into the eShop and just hitting that download button since I have the NSO expansion pack. The update + HHP gonna give me another couple hundred hours of gameplay.

I don’t have the Expansion Pak. I bought it and it let me preload. I happened to be playing and a message saying “hey you can preorder and preload the new DLC” came up on my Switch’s newsfeed.

I’d imagine they’d let Expansion Pak owners preload, the news article seems to say as much.

One of the oddest omissions in Smash Bros was that it never had a Mario Party stage. Like there's Mario Kart stages and there's stages based off mini games like the Wario Ware ones but never one for Mario Party. Could have made for a fun gimmick stage.

I haven't booted up AoC yet but I have had this problem before. Have you tried checking for updates, closing and restarting the, and finally turning off your switch?
 
Why did I buy the Smash fighter pass 2?

I haven’t touched it for more then 10 minutes. Haven’t downloaded Kazuya or Sora even lol

It sucks having to backtrack to the previous floor, it sucks using the black light to find the damn thing, and it sucks to fight. The whole thing is unfun. I told myself that for this playthrough, Polterkitty wouldn’t bother me, it’s just another part of the game. But by the end of the first Polterkitty section, I was just as pissed off as I was the first time I encountered this damn cat.

What an awful way to add padding to your game.

And like, Luigi's Mansion 3 just doesn't need the padding anyway imo.
 
Despite being a musical person, and hearing Jump Up Superstar! approximately 500 times, I JUST NOW realized that the background instrumentation at the beginning of the "Odyssey... YESSEE" section is riffing on the original Donkey Kong arcade music. Starting at 1:25 here:




My mind is slightly blown now, sorry if this is old news

I’m reminded why I love and hate Mario party at the same time. Had one of the most unluckiest games so far, lost half of my coins to bowser(had around a hundred), had a Star stolen twice, had bad rolls all around. Only won really due to the bonus stars and getting them.

This is the Mario Party I remember. This game is much better than Super

I don’t hate them, they’re just a fun little whatever to bring you back through an area

but I also don’t understand all the hate around the concept of “backtracking” unless it’s somehow extremely tedious and unfun, which… hasn’t happened to me in a game yet tbh

If it's still not working, I guess my only other advise is to start up another game and close out of it. Then try AoC. If not that, just keep opening and closing AoC until something happens. I think I had this issue with Smash before and it just randomly started working at some point.
