Seems like Dragon Quest Treasures Deluxe just comes with early access to some monsters? And Crisis Core Deluxe just has an artbook and OST? Seems like a good way for me to shave off $25 by going with the standards unless I’m wrong

Ok, where the hell is Sam & Max Season 3 Remastered? Both previous seasons were released on Switch on past Decembers. It's December 2022 and I want my Season 3 remastered. It was the only one I haven't played...

$70 game everywhere was inevitable. These companies were just waiting on someone to make the first move, get the PR backlash, and condition everyone to normalcy. They can also now use inflation as cover to explain their reasons for increasing prices.

With that said, I don't expect Nintendo to raise prices on Switch games. They usually wait for new hardware to do that so I think we'll see $70 come with the next Switch.

Having some excellent success with my whole "combat traits" function. After I'm done implementing all of them I might make an arena combat demo build, see if anyone likes that.

Funny you say that, OST and Artbooks are like the only thing I care about in collectors editions lol Or are they digital? Then it's much less interesting

Yeah, digital. An extra icon on the Home Screen basically.

Hey all, quick q about sending in Joy-Cons to get them repaired. Gonna be sending in my launch blue/red joy cons for the drift (and also some rail issues on the right side?). I'm not too fussed if I just get sent back grey ones (fully intend to mod the cases for both if that's the case), but how often do they just send new joy cons rather than repair your old ones? My girlfriend has the animal crossing joy cons and they've been drifting pretty hard as well, but she doesn't want to send them in if she can't get the same ones back
From my experience, they’ll replace any Joy-Con (R) and repair any Joy-Con (L), for whatever reason. Also, they’ll tell you which colors they can send you while setting up the repair/replacement order. I recently sent in 7 pairs of Joy-Con for running (the term Nintendo uses internally to describe the drift issue) and every Joy-Con (R) was replaced with a brand new one, while the Joy-Con (L) were just repaired. And they’ll likely only have the Neon Red, Neon Blue, or Gray colors available for replacements.

  • NSO N64 Service Launch - October 25, 2021
    • Dr. Mario 64
    • Mario Kart 64
    • Mario Tennis
    • Sin and Punishment
    • Star Fox 64
    • Super Mario 64
    • The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
    • WinBack: Covert Operations
    • Yoshi’s Story
  • Paper Mario (December 10, 2021) 46 days - Second Friday
  • Banjo-Kazooie (January 20, 2022) 41 days - Third Thursday
  • The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask (February 25, 2022) 36 days - Fourth Friday
  • F-Zero Zero X (March 11, 2022) 14 days - Second Friday
  • Mario Golf (April 15, 2022) 35 days - Third Friday
  • Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards (May 20, 2022) 35 days - Third Friday

  • Pilotwings 64 (October 13, 2022) 55 days - Third Wednesday
  • Mario Party/Mario Party 2 (November 2, 2022) 20 days - First Wednesday

Odds for a December game release on Wednesday December 14th/Friday the 16th? Or was it intentional Nintendo released two games in November to tide us over until January 2023? We boutta find out if Goldeneye was scheduled for 2022 at all or if it is just a non-descript 2023.

Maybe it's not such a longshot for Goldeneye getting a multiplatform release date for both Nintendo and Microsoft consoles at a global event that both will be attending simultaneously later this week. It's at least better odds than me to stop being a pattern mfer 🙃

Replacement sticks are only 10 bucks and the process is rather easy (maybe not the first time, but there are plenty flood videos).

I wouldn’t send in my AC Joy Con or any other Special Edition one.

I guess they collect all drifting Joy Con and send out the repaired ones. That’s faster than waiting that your set of Joy Con is repaired.

Duly noted, thank you both! Worst case scenario I'll wait until those gulikit Hall Sensor control sticks for joycons and replace them myself for her AC controllers. Yeah, for sending in my launch controllers, I'm not too fussed. I'll be a little more hesitant and just do the job myself if it comes to my orange/yellow/green/purple/Mario Odyssey pair of red controllers, though

Well, this isn’t a “Tune into The Game Awards to see a new trailer” or whatever so I’m taking it to mean they’re not gonna have anything to show.

Have they ever Tweeted saying to tune into the Game Awards for a trailer? I don't recall them doing so.

Tune into the Game Awards to see Nintendo's developers fight to the death for the Best Family Game Award!

I feel like I’ve definitely seen more than just this one, but here’s the only one I can find off-hand.
Maybe I’m wrong!

They will probably make the tweet one day before, as usual but that is also not set in stone, remember patterns are long dead. And no, they will not say "watch tga tomorrow for a new trailer for ToTK!" that would ruin the whole suprise, we are no longer in year of 2016 when they needed to hype it up by mentioning specific game.

Keep the faith, we're proud of you. Here's hoping!

things we know about zelda:

  • aonuma, fujibayashi, and seemingly much of nintendo cared deeply about the botw award
  • totk was dated for may with yet another teaser
  • i.e. the game is out in six months and we know nothing about it
  • botw's first gameplay was at the game awards

if they don't show it this week they must either really have bad blood with geoff (in which case why promote it at all) or they want the first gameplay to be on new hardware they aren't ready to reveal yet

...candidly I haven't entirely ruled out a drake reveal either

Considering the "this must be on new hardware" response that Mario + Rabbids 2 got, they could show it off on new hardware without revealing the hardware itself because, I mean, people are gonna insist it's running on new hardware either way. 😅

Actually wasn't that already a thing with the first big sky trailer? Because the clouds looked too good?

let me be clear. zelda is 99%, new switch is 1%
I think they would never unveiled new hardware at TGA, not even a slightest. Even when they where at a time low they revealed their new console month before TGA because you want all the people talk about you and not other things. Microsoft is weird in this way but they are also not a japanese company. But the XSX reveal was hype tho.

I’m like “I’ll play FFVIIR until my PS5 controller runs out of battery, and then I’ll do some homework.” My battery has lasted since 11AM this morning and now it’s 5PM and it’s still not out. Why does it only last this long when I have other things to do

Just imagine if they announce Sportsmates for Smash Ultimate and they get all the sports-based moves that the Miis should have gotten

It was a thing with Monster Hunter Rise's reveal back in 2020. Eurogamer even went so far as to ask the game's developers, in an on the record interview, if Rise was running on a more powerful Switch.

As for Nintendo and TGA, I honestly wouldn't be surprised any which way at this point. They have stuff either confirmed - Zelda - or heavily rumoured - Metroid Prime HD - which are good fits for the audience. Zelda is announced and nominated for a gong at TGA, too, which I think nudges the odds higher.

They'll have some sort of presence, I think. They may use TGA to give Xenoblade a bit of a boost by announcing the story DLC, or the third wave DLC. Or we'll get a complete curveball, like a new exclusive from a third party or a brand new Nintendo title that's even more surprising than Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 being a Nintendo published title.

because FFVIIR deserves all of your time 😈

at this point I think I might never beat the hell house on hard. Wtf is the last phase

Man, coding all these traits and stat changes and all that is incredibly easy but figuring out how to communicate all of it to the player via UI or effects is tough. Kinda crazy how much we rely on UI in games.

Well, can't say they aren't tweeting about TGA at all. Still doesn't mean anything, but at the very least it's free exposure and promotion.

They separated their Bayo support tweet from the family games support tweet, huh? 😅

They're not gonna show Zelda at the Game Awards because I'm gonna be in bed when it airs.
Not if you crack open a cold Mountain Dew and just, like, stay up 🤷‍♂️

The more I advance on RCG2 the more bug starts to appear. Going to be interesting if they don't manage to patch it before the western release

Nah, Miis are so much more than Wii Sports and making them just a Wii Sports rep in Smash would have been an awful decision. I believe Sakurai was right to make Miis be customizable fighters as they are in Smash, because that’s much more true to the spirit of Miis than just making them all based on sports just because they debuted alongside Wii Sports. I do like the fact that the introduction of Sportsmates makes it possible to have a Wii/Nintendo Switch Sports fighter in a future Smash game, though!
