Be honest with me: Is Raccoon actually a raccoon?

Real talk though, 2023 was always going to be a down year. There's so much DLC coming next year it's insane. And the Switch is slowing down. Don't expect next year to be big.
Honestly the fact that it has Zelda and Pikmin already puts it above 2018 for me, first party wise. Smash was the only above-average game they released that year outside of ports, IMO.

If 2023 was so empty I feel they wouldn't put a completely new FE in January of all months. Maybe it won't have huge megatons but I doubt it'll be such a quiet year...

... inb4 they release 2 new FE games in 2023 (the other one being the FE4 remake) for some reason.

Real talk, what exactly is considered a big year for Nintendo? What's the definition of big? Is it the number of titles Nintendo publishes? Number of 10 million sellers? Total number of software sold? Or does the definition change depending on how optimistic or pessimistic you are currently feeling at the moment?

2017: New 3D Mario! New 3D Zelda! Big Year!

2018 - 2021: No 3D Mario, No 3D Zelda.

Eh, they were okay years... I guess.

Did not manage to finish Dragon Quest IX before Pokémon 😔 But I'm at the last dungeon so I might do it next week

On the evidence offered by gaming discourse in 2021 and 2022, it's the type of game rather than the number of games and new software especially counts for more. 2021 had more games from Nintendo but 2022 is talked about as the busier and bigger year because it was all new stuff and it came from high profile and fan favourite series.

Nintendo could release more games in 2023 than 2022, but if Zelda is the only really high profile new game, then Nintendo only have Zelda in 2023.

Added SNES violet and SNES lavender to the Famicoin shop username color options.

Playing through Xenoblade 2 right now, and I think one of my biggest pet peeves in games that this one is making me realize are mid-battle cutscenes. Like you’ve beaten a boss to a certain health percentage than the game kicks you out to watch a 5 min cutscene of the characters fighting, then puts you back, sometimes with the boss at full health again if it’s a new “phase”. It just completely breaks the flow of the battle especially with a game like XC2 where setting up attack chains with various meters is the biggest part of it.

Does XC3 also do this crap?
Yes.

But they take it a step further sometimes. You sometimes fight beat them in full health but fight again! Lol

Ya know, a US SNES color theme for the forum would be great. Dare I say maybe even better than the Wario Time theme!?!

One hour left before I'll be meeting my precious spriggy and smolivs, ONE HOUR.

The wait is agonizing!!! Atleast the cool new Fami feature is keeping me entertained in a good way!! Seriously the potential with this new gimmick is insane!!
Looking forward to how this will develop as time goes by!

Just bought Metroid Dread on ehsop sale. I have to say, it's sad that Metroid 1-4 and Metroid Prime Trilogy is not playable on Switch. I think Metroid could sell better than ever, if there only would be a way of buying the complete series. Huge missed oppurtunity.

Hope they will change that one day...

Type of game makes the definition even more nebulous. If people only consider Zelda, 3D Mario, Smash Bros, and Mario Kart as big games, then yeah, I can see how people would consider years without those releases as not big. Outside of those titles, what people consider big games is pretty wish-washy. At the start of 2022, the only big game that we knew about as Splatoon 3 and let's be real, a lot of people don't consider that a big franchise despite Splatoon 2 selling over 10 million copies (most of which were at full price). I don't know how many times I've seen people say that Nintendo doesn't have a major title for the holidays when fucking Pokemon, the biggest holiday seller, is on the calendar.

What people haven't realized yet is that your name color determines what teams you'll be one during the team mini games in the Famiboard's Mario Party Squid Games.

I haven't been following God of War Ragnarok too much but from the random takes I've seen online it sounds some people think it's the most Sony game that Sony has ever created but this time they may have Sony'd a bit too hard. Is that correct?

From the impressions I've read it's just like the 2018 game but they ramped up the talking, cutscenes, talking, slow walking, talking, NPCs solving puzzles for you, and talking up to 11
