I still don't think we'll get DK Mountain in MK8D. The DLC already will have two DK tracks. A third would be excessive.
Setting aside the fact that we don't really have any idea whether the "DK" track will actually be Donkey Kong related (or even an actual track), 3 tracks out of 48 is not what I would consider excessive. We got 3 Wario tracks in the original set of 48.

If you don't think that's a DK track, I have a bridge to sell you. And it would be 3 DK tracks in 3 waves, which would be a lot. Dino Dino Jungle makes a lot more sense.

My point was more in regards to it possibly being a battle map than a track. I’m guessing it’s DK related too, although we still don’t know for sure. Might not even be in the BCP.

Regardless, I doubt Nintendo really cares that much about having “too many” DK tracks, especially if they’re all fairly different, which Summit and Mountain are. There’s been a pretty heavy focus on tracks that were in DS and Wii, and GCN DK Mountain is one of the fan favorite tracks from Wii, so I doubt they skip out on it unless there’s a BCP2 in the works.

DK Mountain looks a lot nicer visually than Dino Dino Jungle if anything; just comes with showing up a lot later into the game’s life. Being an early Tour track isn’t stopping Toad Circuit or Rock Rock Mountain though (remains to be seen if the latter has any major visual enhancements coming; we can hope).

As for which of them makes it into 8DX, i’m still giving Dino Dino the slight nod, since we’re already getting A LOT of tracks with cannons (Waluigi Pinball, Maple Treeway, DK Summit, Wii Rainbow Road, Vancouver, Singapore, probably Airship Fortress) and possibly two DK tracks depending on what mobDK is. DDJ just adds a little bit more variety; but jury is out on if Nintendo care about that.

If this isn’t in BCP i’ll be furious; better be the wave 4 GBA track…

Omg I want Riverside Park in the BCP!! If this would be the last GBA track, it would be so hype.

Give me a SNES Bowser’s Castle or something, but right now I really don’t want a GBA Bowser’s Castle anymore ;)

Also, the further we come on this BCP cycle, the more I’m sad about some choices made (especially in the first wave). The new tracks coming up look really slick and unique. That’s also why I really hope Alpine Pass gets a good make-over. Otherwise I think that we could’ve gotten so many better updated tracks down the road…

Holy shit, that tour is going hard! Riverside Park looks fantastic!

Kinda sucks to know that we’re gonna be missing out on multiple high quality GBA tracks though. Fingers crossed for BCP2.

Riverside Park looks awesome, but I really wanted Lakeside Park instead. That track is brutal in Super Circuit, but would be amazing to have in Mario Kart 8.

I didn't comment earlier, but I would generally like to see DK Mountain over Dino Dino Jungle, but I'm definitely torn since DK Summit is getting in and sort of covers DK Mountain's niche as a downhill track. Dino Dino might be the better pick for variety, but that grumpy volcano is compelling lol. (It would be funny though to have Dino Dino in the same game as Ice Ice and Rock Rock lol)

DK Mountain looks gorgeous in that cartoon visual style. Should look great when it comes to Switch. Riverside Park I only vaguely remember; sure would be nice if we'd have GBA NSO by now for me to revisit Super Circuit!

Do we have any idea which courses are coming next? They should be here by Christmas, more or less?

Yeah they have to be here by Christmas with Merry Mountain. Most people here are thinking end of the month. I’m guessing December 1st personally.

The current rumored line up is:

Rock:
London Loop
Boo Lake
Rock Rock Mountain
Maple Treeway

Moon
Berline Byways
Peach Gardens
Merry Mountain
Rainbow Road 3DS

The previous datamined lineup had a slightly different order with Waluigi Stadium featured instead of Maple Treeway. A toss up then for whichever one you want to trust. I’m rolling with Waluigi personally, but I think most people here are rolling with the new one.

I hope it's this. But isn't the last SNES track rumored to be Vanilla Lake?
Only thing pointing to Vanilla Lake (and Dino Dino Jungle) are the Coconut Mall adverts, which aren’t really all that reliable considering that there are also adverts for characters not in MK8D.

Of course, this doesn’t mean that those two tracks won’t show up, but considering that GBA Snow Land fills a very similar niche, I’d say it’s pretty unlikely for SNES Vanilla Lake.

God I hope so Vanilla Lake is dogshit

The music would sound lovely, but otherwise I’m mostly in agreement. There’s a custom track for Vanilla Lake 1 that is really impressive, but the chances of Nintendo putting in that type of effort for the BCP are pretty slim.

I’m still expecting SNES Koopa Beach myself, although I’d love to see SNES Bowser’s Castle make a return.

The next Mii Costume is a Rocky Wrench. Doesn’t bode well for a Holiday Tour, which would in turn likely mean Wave 3 will be pushed back a couple more weeks into December. It’d line up perfectly with the Game Awards, actually.

Unfortunately I don't think this makes it in. We need a Bowser Castle track sometime.
We just got (a) SNES Bowser Castle datamined from Tour, so I really think there's a good chance of that happening over GBA Bowser Castle at this stage. Only evidence for Vanilla Lake and Dino Dino Jungle are the adverts on Coconut Mall, which come from Tour anyway. In my mind Snow Land and Boo Lake are essentially stand-ins for other SNES course themes, Vanilla Lake and Ghost Valley.

Only other competition for the second SNES slot in my mind is Koopa Beach, but it's entirely dependant on what the remaining GBA course is.

Temporary update to the image; feels good to finally have a GBA park on there.

Oh well, guess I'm tuning out of here for a while.

I mean, the Moo Moo Mii Suit is irrelevant for this upcoming tour outside the fact the tour is called the animal tour so I don't think the Rocky Wrench Mii Suit means much.

Sure, it’s not impossible, but I really struggle to see how a Rocky Wrench can be related to Merry Mountain, or the holidays in general. The Moo Moo suit at least checks out with the Tour theme.

Although I’m really curious with which new track the Rocky Wrench Mii Suit fits. We already have Airship Fortress in Tour.
Rocky Wrenches show up in Bangkok Rush T, so it could be Bangkok Rush 2.

Could also be a Bowser thing, and they’re just adding a random mook.

I'm not gonna start massive hopium, but Merry Mountain usually sticks around for the tour after it's featured right? This next tour is the exact slot the Merry Mountain tour would usually be featured in, so what if instead, we get Merry Mountain in this tour, the tour BEFORE it's featured. Therefore, they could still put in the little advert for the BCP in the game since the wave's featured track will be playable in Tour at the time

A whole 1 second of new Merry Mountain footage in a Nintendo UK advert! Wave 3 is bound to be shown off very soon.

This week has no shot. There's typically about a week of marketing for the new waves and they're not going to release it with Pokemon coming in four days.
Not release this week, but I expect a wave 3 trailer this week for a release for the week after.
Ah, well we’ll see I guess; at the very least a reveal this week might happen. It’s rare that these events add new games or DLC in the middle of the event, but it does happen sometimes, and I guess they’ll still have Waves 1 and 2 of the Booster Course Pass to show off regardless.

Holy shit, actually Nintendo employee on Fami we’ve finally hit the peak

Question: What random bug do you want Nintendo to randomly fix in the Wave 3 update? Like how Nintendo randomly fixed the repeated character voice clip bug in time trial replays after 5 years in the Wave 2 update.

Given that the event is going on from November 18th through December 27th, and the obvious assumption that Wave 3 is clearly going to release sometime within that window, there’s no doubt that Wave 3 will be featured at the event once it releases—the question is, will it be there from the beginning, or will it only be there after it officially releases?
