Did you know that Skull Kids are referencing...skulls?wtf I never made this connection

Yes, I reacted similarly last week when I made the connection too.
Ganondorf: I HAVE RETURNED TO CLAIM MY BIRTHRIGHT AS THE DEMON KING OF HYRULE!!!Basically this Ganondorf is old as fuuuck. But we knew that already.
I can see there being flying enemies that swoop down and do just that. I’m not so sure there will be enemy camps on the islands like the surface, the islands themselves are more of a Devine and spiritual nature were I think we will be mostly puzzling, fixing the master sword and warping to who knows where. The 2nd teaser were link is fighting the ceiling worm, seemed like it could be inside one of the islands, but I’m hoping for some sort of civilization being on the islands as well so I’m guessing no.Imagine the cruelty if there are enemies on the sky islands that try to throw or push us off an island.

That's a good question. I just want to point out (no pun intended) that OOT Ganondorf only has round ears at the beginning of the game.Random observation - why does this Ganondorf have rounded ears?
The Ganondorf from TP and WW had pointed ears. Oddly enough, OoT Ganondorf (the same person) does not. Feels like a retcon.
Maybe the Triforce made his ears pointy, but he had pointy ears in his execution scene in TP, before he got the Triforce of Power.
I guess there's a difference between his ears being 'pointed' and his ears being 'Hylian' though. Hylian ears are long and pointy. But ToTK Ganondorf's ears have no point at all, they look like normal human ears.
Since Ganondorf in TP and WW are both dead, I assume ToTK Ganondorf is a reincarnation, so different features makes sense... but it's interesting that with all of the Gerudo in BotW having pointed ears, this version of Ganondorf does not.
We already assume he's ancient - older than the 10,000 fight between the high-tech Shiekah and Calamity Ganon. Nabooru and other OoT Gerudo are drawn with round ears, so the OoT-era Gerudo do not yet have pointed ears from co-mingling with Hylians.

Regarding lore, I’m of the mind that there’s two separate distinctions here.Re: Zelda lore.
Tbf, I don't think anyone in the Zelda team huuuuugely cares about it, and inconsistencies has been all over the places for years, so I wouldn't really look too much into it (and I think no better point to prove it that they happily swapped Kakariko and Great Hyrule Forest locations close to development's end) . Anyway, if someone wanted to go down the rabbit hole, even though the OoT Temple of Time would be the same place as the Sealed Grounds, I mean, canonically the Wind Waker's flood is part of BOTW timeline, so there are several Hyrules. Both the Forgotten Temple and the Great Plateu could have been the place 'were the Kingdom of Hyrule was born' (gosh, BOTW is so far on the timeline that it could even be several other Kingdoms of Hyrule we don't know yet or even ever will).
The sky islands will probably feature different enemies from those on the surface.
The surface has Lynels, I hope the sky island have Iron Knuckles or Darknuts.
Michael CeraI'm scared to find out who voices Ganondorf.
I think I have the perfect spot for that statue on my front lawn. That green arm is going to take some time getting use to tho. I think I will add to Link holding my count down calendar so my neighbors know not to disturb me from May 12 till Christmas of 2023.I had been wondering if we’d see something new from the game at Nintendo Live. This is already nice. Maybe there will be other stuff if we’re lucky.
Looks like they merged the classic tunic and the champions outfit together.
The nose is a bit too realistic a shape, I think. And to some extent the lips as well. It's throwing off the soft, Ghibli-esque vibe.Best Link design? Best Link design!
The face of the statue looks way off tho
here's the thing: how do you make the soft ghibli man realThe nose is a bit too realistic a shape, I think. And to some extent the lips as well. It's throwing off the soft, Ghibli-esque vibe.
With a slightly more triangular nose and not quite so luscious lipshere's the thing: how do you make the soft ghibli man real
The statue reminds me way too much of Hyrule Warriors and I loathe the Link from that game. The nose is a bit too realistic a shape, I think. And to some extent the lips as well. It's throwing off the soft, Ghibli-esque vibe.
Yeah that's what I'm getting at, it looks like Link but not BotW Link. The statue reminds me way too much of Hyrule Warriors and I loathe the Link from that game.
Wow I never closely inspected the trailer to spot that. I wonder if Ganondorf uses magic to round out his ears since he has qualms being part Hylian.Random observation - why does this Ganondorf have rounded ears?

Nintendo has seemingly taken quite some cues from Ghibli's Princess Mononoke (pic)It's kind of insane to me that they gave their hot protagonist a creepy ass possessed arm. I mean that's gutsy, right? I think it's pretty gutsy.
Since we are going to be in the skies, I really want them to do cool things with the clouds. How awesome would it be to see some lenticular clouds over Mount Lanayru, something like this
It's a skeletal figure, so, it wouldn't have ears, just more skull, and earholes. Have a feel around your own ears, or Google and observe an image of a skull - Unless that part was mummified, you don't typically see the ears. Of course, this isn't a human being, but the skeleton of a fantastical one, but the point would remain that the outer structure of an ear is comprised of flesh most of the time. The part where it might've been pointed is flesh, which, along with the rest of his body, would've decayed over a long time. If you also observe the heads of a Bokoblin and Stalkoblin, for example, you'll see that this is consistent, as the latter doesn't have pointed ears.
Sakurai vs Link
iunderstoodthatreference.gifI'm only more intrigued by Link's "God Hand", now.
