Why is JRPG Twitter just people constantly saying "you like [ANY FRANCHISE] so you are a pedophile" to each other.

Social media was a mistake.
I'd say it's a mix between people going to extremes quickly because it's more fun and JRPGs often having questionable aspects to them

I can personally say the more time passes the less tolerant I am of a lot of the stuff going on in certain JRPGs and anime

How can it already be 1 year here at Fami?
I'm not the most active member here but still feel like I belong. Thank you to everyone that have made this to the welcoming place I think it is.

TWEET: "I like Persona 5"
REPLY from a random person: "you also like children"

It doesn't seem a good time to have to be honest.

Yeah I don't get it with JRPG franchises

I do get it with anime avatars though :p

In all seriousness, the amount of times I'll click someone's profile on twitter, scroll down 5 tweets, and find them proudly proclaiming themselves to be a lolicon or fan of young boy or other questionable content is 🤢

So.. is there a way to activate immortality in Final Fantasy 7 on Switch or something? if so I seem to have done it by mistake?
After I booted the game up again, I dont take any damage at all lol. I also seem to have unlimited special attacks to..

I don't know how it works, but I know there are cheat codes in that version of the game. Shoulder buttons or clicking the sticks maybe?

Yeah there's 3 different cheats: Speed up, no encounters, and full bars (limit/life/mp). They are activated by pressing the left stick, right stick, or both at the same time. There are indicators which one you have activated on the bottom left of the screen (square logos. the shape, not the company).

Do you guys think we will see TotK again this year?
The Game Awards doesn’t seem out of the question as a possibility for more Zelda.

People love to say Nintendo and Geoff had a falling out (while ignoring they still show up every year), but Nintendo also never had a Zelda close to completion and in need of advertising since Breath of the Wild.

Enjoy your weekend squids

I've been hoping for that, these teaser trailers are killing me. I want to know moreeeee

It's the Fami Anniversary + Spoopy Season new thread!!

Yeah, that's just so easy accessable that I most definitely did it while playing.
Thanks

Holy shit! The Seattle Mariners have finally ended their 21 year playoff drought. The last time they made it to the playoffs, Leonardo DiCaprio’s most recent girlfriend was 4.
Yeah'd for the joke, sad cause that means the orioles are officially out.

October is the Pokemon and Sonic waiting room

also GOW for people who are so inclined
Hey it’s me, the person this post is describing. I’m not buying anything this month, but next month is Sonic, Pokémon, and Ragnarok!

I think if you click the right stick that turns on full bars. Left stick is speed up. I’ve been using speed up for basically every random battle so far and I absolutely love it.

How far are you? I just got to Aerith’s house after blowing up reactor five, so I’m not very far yet. But I’m really enjoying the game! I think this might be the time that I finally make it all the way through FF7. It only took me twenty years and half a dozen attempts, but this is gonna be the one!

Just because Nintendo has people show up to accept awards each year doesn't mean they always have new announcements to show. 2021 they didn't show anything, same with 2019 I believe.

2022 will end, and all I have to look forward next year, is the promise of a hypothetical Donkey Kong game on Switch.

Sure, I'll be getting Zelda too, but it's more like... "I liked Breath of the Wild, the sequel may be cool too"; Not exactly the game I'm dying to play.

... I still need to buy Pac-Man World Re-Pac by the way..

2021 was Monster Hunter Sunbreak. 2019 was Bravely Default II, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 DLC, and No More Heroes 3.

Nintendo always brings something.

The PS5 honestly has me more hyped for next year than the Switch does. Final Fantasy 16, FF7R2, Spider-Man 2, Street Fighter 6, Tekken 8 (maybe, lol), and Like a Dragon Ishin are all on my radar for 2023. Not to mention PSVR2.

I'll be getting Street Fighter 6 on the PS4, even though I don't feel as excited for it as I was with past entries (it's all comes down to the current artstyle);

But it's cool that the PS5 finally may be getting out of cross-gen purgatory next year.. well, at least for people that got one! I currently don't feel there's much incentive to get any of the newer systems, and I only got a PS4 back in 2020, so.. no rush from me!

Are alerts screwing up for anyone else? Twice now ive seen it say that I have 4 new alerts, and when I look there is only one in the list, all my previous alerts are gone as well.

Quick question, what's a good cheap third party switch controller that would be good for a 4 year old? Single joycons aren't cutting it for her.

Hilariously none of those are on my interested list XD

I dont even own a PS5 but the lineup there next year does look exciting. Capcom's games especially look incredible.

Hard to feel excited right now about Switch 2023 when we've seen so little of Zelda but that will probably be my game of the year anyway lol

You guys are thinking about 2023 already, meanwhile I’m still dealing with my backlog from like 2005
Hey I spend much more time playing (and purchasing) decades old games than current ones! This year especially was a good time to go into a buying spree of Wii U games..

I am actually scared of a price hike once the eShop closes next year...

Now I know why Disney reopened so soon after Ian, it was so they could rake in all the money in the world from EPCOT 40th anniversary merch sales today. The line is apparently 4 hours long.

I'm thinking about 2023 already because it kicks off with a new Fire Emblem in January and Octopath 2 in February. Normally those two months I use to catch up on the previous year.

What am I meant to do this time? Actually be finished with Xenoblade 3, Sunbreak, Splatoon 3, Bayonetta 3, Nier Automata, and Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope by then?

Kinda wish the early 2023 slate was spread into 2022 a bit. Nothing really stands out to be as a must-buy for the rest of 2022, but 2023 opens up with Fire Emblem Engage, Like a Dragon Ishin, Octopath Traveler II, Rain Code. Tears of the Kingdom, and probably more. Not to mention Resident Evil 4 and Jedi Survivor, two games that I’m willing to wait on for a sale but am still very interested in.

January and February are wildly stacked next year.
Fire Emblem. Kirby. Octopath Traveller II.

Really? Like ... what do these issues look like? Genuinely curious here, never been using a TV as my main monitor!

Generally I agree, yeah, PC on TV isn't the same as console on TV, and I do think a PS/Xbox has the edge over PC in one's home entertainment center. But I also wouldn't want to main a home console on my desk and monitor, so everything's got its specific purpose anyways.
It’s usually resolution scaling issues. I’m using a 4K TV. Sometimes the windows don’t scale properly. Sometimes the text is microscopic. Sometimes games have the option to increase the text size, but then it causes all kinds of text wrapping issues. It’s not ideal.

Buddy of mine had kids around that age and he was having them use the PowerA controllers you can get at.. I think Target or GameStop? Wired ones are pretty cheap (though that could create another type of problem I guess 😅).

Also overscan, its 2022 and they still haven't make a fix for the goddamn overscan.

October thread already, happy spooky season for everyone

This is already happening here unfortunately and they know it, "well you won't be able to buy it digital now, so its crazy price for used game"
I'm very glad I bought all the Wii U games I wanted last year. Even then the prices seemed pretty high.

Yeah wired presents a problem. I'll just go cheap and if it sucks I can return it.
