.... but you just said that the new stuff was ''Pokemon ''new'' ... pick a line..This is why I said that Scarlet&Violet looked more interesting than Splatoon 3.
(Although that game is also not including the gameplay improvements from Arceus. The Pokemon way again).
I don't think there's reason to fear the sales performance of this game. It's got the biggest hype cycle ever for the franchise (1 year and 7 months, against only 6 months of 2 and 11 months of 1), is releasing on a huge install base and receiving a lot of marketing. Also it's releasing close to the holidays and will receive 2 years of free DLC.I just... didn't get excited. I fear that this game will not do well in comparison to 2.
I just said that..... but you just said that the new stuff was ''Pokemon ''new'' ... pick a line..
The artstyle on them is dope. Also, it is playable against others online right? Or just against Inkopolis NPC's like Sheldon? Also, I have zero (0) interest in the card game because I hate card games like that (it's because I suck at them), but I NEED to get all the cards. They know how to get me.
Tbh from what the direct showed , it only seems like NPC's (maybe after launch they will also make it online), which is a bit sad. My local Nintendo twitter account also mentioned that the mode is ideal for ''On the road'' (my inkling about this, is that you don't need internet for it)The artstyle on them is dope. Also, it is playable against others online right? Or just against Inkopolis NPC's like Sheldon?
Someone might know for sure, but I'm fairly sure it was online against other people too. I'd like to know if I'm wrong though. The artstyle on them is dope. Also, it is playable against others online right? Or just against Inkopolis NPC's like Sheldon?
Of course it does. It’s a great game, and if they keep improving a great game, it has all the benefit. Plus as usual, they keep giving us a single player story mode.Splatoon 2 was a launch window game and was also a sequel of a game that released on a dying console. People were mostly expecting just a way to play Splatoon on Switch and that's what they got.
Splatoon 3 doesn't have that benefit.
Don’t worry about that. Whether it does as well as the 2nd in the west or not is irrelevant. The series is here to stay, especially with how big it is in their native land.I just... didn't get excited. I fear that this game will not do well in comparison to 2.
Official Direct recapSo is there a recap post?
I wouldnt say generational leap, but it surely does look nice. Salmon run looks worse because of the grey esque colours and more same colour textured floors i guess. Is it just me or anyone else is thinking the game itself, city, battles, etc look amazing graphics wise but Salmon Run looks... Rough to bad??? As in, the whole game looks like a generational leap over 2 but Salmon Run looks the same as 2? Maybe it demands more of the console or something.
Nicknames
You'll need to pick a nickname when registering your Splashtag. This is different from your user nickname on the Nintendo Switch system and will only be used in Splatoon 3. Your nickname can be updated, but you'll have to wait a bit before changing it again.
You'll also get an ID number that will help identify you to other players. Even if you have the same nickname as someone else, your ID number will be unique.
Changing a nickname will also change the ID number.
I agree with this. It's hard for me to be disappointed in what they showed for the story, only in the sense that the first and second games focus has always been the online play. The story modes seemed like just some side content. The problem is that the potential for a big story mode and a grand adventure is clearly there, so it's disappointing that it hasn't happened yet. But, when I think about it, should they do something like that in Splatoon 3, or should something like that be it's own game? I honestly don't think there is a right or wrong answer here, but it would be cool to get a "BOTW" moment for Splatoon with the same multiplayer on the same cartridge, but I also wouldn't be upset if it was it's own game, and they kept the two seperate. I don't know if that makes sense business wise though, but that's why I'm not a business professional man person.About the lack of story mode spotlight: I was expecting it and don't think we should doom and gloom about it a lot. I mean, the very first trailer of the game had somewhat of a story theme, the second trailer was a story mode trailer, while we didn't see much of the stages, we know it'll have a "grand finale" so maybe they just didn't want to give away many spoilers?? Or, you know, maybe the game will receive a final trailer or a Direct trailer on story mode.
The game is not releasing bare bones nor "just this and the rest will be updates" like 1 and 2 were criticized for, so it seems like a very big and complete game for day one. After they made Splatoon, 2 and Octo-Expansion, I'll only think that the story mode will be substantial and fun as the team knows what fans want. I mean, let's remember the "Breath of the Wild has no towns" and "Odyssey is an auto-runner" nonsense we've been through in the past lol.
More than that just by December 2022. Save this post.4.5 Mill sales lifetime. Save this post.
You mean at launch week?4.5 Mill sales lifetime. Save this post.
Zelda fans complain about every Zelda sequel to be fair.zelda fans complaining about an iterative sequel is pretty rich right now
when zelda gets re-re-revealed with the same overworld and no dungeons you better believe I'm gonna go in the thread saying "2 million lifetime sales, bookmark this post"Zelda fans complain about every Zelda sequel to be fair.
To be honest nobody says that, here they do that but with japan lolGame is doomed to sell. Remember, only 'Merica sales count! Does not matter if half of the population of Japan buys it. Be USA or GTFO!

A lot of which just don't make sense for a mainline Pokemon game where the goal isn't to catch as man of each Pokemon as possible. Different kind of games deserve different types mechanics. This is why I said that Scarlet&Violet looked more interesting than Splatoon 3.

You're right, they're not comparable. Splatoon is actually fun to playPFFT! Comparing Splatoon 3 to XC3.
Ah, now I understand why some Splatoon 3 fans were complaining about XC3 early on. Predicting the reactions for this game. You're right, they're not comparable. Splatoon is actually fun to play

This. Could totally have been a big update to 2 lol.First thoughts after that Direct were disappointing, I was expecting more new modes for the main multiplayer game. Was hoping for a local game mode as well, also Salmon Rub still only being playable at certain times is such a backwards decision I just don’t understand.
A lot of these tweaks and updates could have been implemented into S2 and saved releasing 3 until they more ideas. Don’t get me wrong, I am looking forward to playing it but my first impressions are it just looks like a slightly updated 2.
As I said the other day:a little surprised at the number of people who seemingly don't understand the idea of a multiplayer game
NGL, I do get a little annoyed when people complain about MULTIPLAYER FOCUSED games not having good single player options. Splatoon, the Mario Sports games, Mario Kart, Switch Sports. Like that's not the focus of the games lol. It's like complaining that BOTW doesnt have multiplayer or that Mario Odysseys multiplayer sucks.
