Nate is just a voice without a body. I don’t think he can play videogames he just talk about themYou have to look at it from Nate’s perspective. Don’t you think he also wants a big General Direct??? He plays games too. He’s a huge Nintendo fan like the rest of us. I’m sure he doesn’t want to believe from what his sources was telling him that we were getting a partners direct of all things.
Towards the beginning he seemed more hopeful and kind of pointed towards a general. As we got closer he definitely became more weary. He was becoming more open minded to Mini or Partner. And I told people to now open your minds after I saw Nate started to waffle. Because he probably got new info and nothing was pointing to anything big as a general direct.
I just ate KFC does that count?all I know is someone better start eating cardboard and soon
this is a possibility too, and frankly it's probably the funniestWhat if on Tuesday there is nothing at all? Due to recent events in US.
I hope you don't mind me bothering you but is this post still accurate? There seems to be a lot of doom and gloom around here at the moment but even if it's third party only it sounds like it could still be pretty full? Should we be expecting a fairly long partner showcase? If the Direct I have knowledge of is a Mini... then they should use a different term.
Unsure. I've heard a few things that I have not yet been able to confirm but I'm thinking a first-party Direct may still come this summer. As to why they are spacing things out... who knows.
Place is already on the verge of civil war, don't make it worse. What if on Tuesday there is nothing at all? Due to recent events in US.
Automotive lobby is as powerful as NRA. Good luck with that.I am once again advocating for nationalized US rail in this time of unprecedented thread viewership
All I need is Splatoon something, it's simple as that. I would trade Splatoon Direct over Partner.this is a possibility too, and frankly it's probably the funniest
"I'm not owned! I'm not owned!" the Direct continues to insist as it shrinks and transforms from an E3 replacement to a general to a Partner to nothing
me too man, me tooAll I need is Splatoon something, it's simple as that. I would trade Splatoon Direct over Partner.
Mario + Rabbids, Splatoon and Bayonetta will be on shelves alongside Pokemon.I didn’t think of Luigi’s Mansion or Hyrule Warriors as holiday games either, but Nintendo still went with both. They just like to have something on shelves alongside Pokémon, and I think Metroid Prime HD fills that need. Plus, the anniversary lines up nicely.
I could also see them doing a Zelda collection though. The important thing is that, while it won’t be a blockbuster, I still think Nintendo is gonna have something else in store.
thank you, I'll need itAutomotive lobby is as powerful as NRA. Good luck with that.

I know it’s only a matter if time but I’m curious about this too.I hope you don't mind me bothering you but is this post still accurate? They didn't last yearTo be fair Nintendo always have a Holiday period game that is NOT Pokemon
The only once that film the bill for now are new Fire Emblem and Prime HD bacuse they are finished
hahaha you'd think they would've caught on in the US by now on name alone, huhI got an idea...
Well like I said next week will be fun lol
I think in the absence of information, it should be okay to just say you don't know. If Nate had definitive information that there was a general direct, and then that changed, then I would understand why he was reinforcing what was said. However, I'm pretty sure he's implied that the information on his end was on the third party side of things, which is in no way a guarantee or even indicator of a general. To be fair, Nate always said he's unaware of what type of Direct it would be, but speculated it wouldn't be a smaller one because he had no reason to believe that at the time.
If people are going to hang onto his every word, then they need to be able to separate what he's reporting from a source and when he's just giving his opinion. As part of this community, he should be able to have fun and speculate with the rest of us without it coming back to haunt him if he's wrong. He's made it very clear that he was unsure the type of Direct.
Splatoon isn’t a holiday release though, and Mario + Rabbids is Ubisoft. That just leaves Bayonetta, which isn’t impossible as a holiday release, but it then leaves a pretty noticeable gap between Splatoon.Mario + Rabbids, Splatoon and Bayonetta will be on shelves alongside Pokemon.
Granted, I also think Prime will release this year, but they surely have other big games out for the holiday timeframe.

While I did think Nintendo might have something else, realistically there's the potential combination here for Nintendo to have plenty, commercially, when you factor inTo be fair Nintendo always have a Holiday period game that is NOT Pokemon

I'm betting on closer to 15Why is no one predicting how long it will be? Something like 25 minutes?
I still think it's a regular Direct, but with smaller first party presence. I'd say 35 minutes. Why is no one predicting how long it will be? Something like 25 minutes?
There are good things in the show. Big is up to personal opinion based on whether or not you like the game/games.Nate, does this still hold? Like in the sense that it’s a partner direct, but you think the reveals are pretty exciting and could be compared to the reveals of a big direct? Or are things getting shuffled around and what you thought would be there won’t be?
I consider Pikmin to be big so to me everything is bigThere are good things in the show. Big is up to personal opinion based on whether or not you like the game/games.
20 minutes, with the last 5 being dedicated to Mario + Rabbids. Why is no one predicting how long it will be? Something like 25 minutes?
Square will dominate this direct. It'll be a feast for any jrpg fan. There are good things in the show. Big is up to personal opinion based on whether or not you like the game/games.
So you think all the knowledge you originally had when you said that was for this partner direct and not another potential direct some time down the line? There are good things in the show. Big is up to personal opinion based on whether or not you like the game/games.
So I guess these things are that good, that earlier when you haven't been given a branding of the Direct you just though this is General. Is that right? There are good things in the show. Big is up to personal opinion based on whether or not you like the game/games.

You can’t really think from a commercial perspective though. Nintendo could scrap everything besides Pokémon ScarVi and be more than set between that, Pokémon Legends, and Mario Kart 8.While I did think Nintendo might have something else, realistically there's the potential combination here for Nintendo to have plenty, commercially, when you factor in
Splatoon 3 - 10 to 15 million seller
Mario + Rabbids 2 - 5 to 10 million seller
Pokemon - 20 million plus seller
Bayonetta 3 - 1 to 2 million seller
Advance Wars - 500k to 1 million seller
I thought there'd be more than that, sure, but commercially in that September through December window they'd be fine. They have two big sellers of their own plus a notable Mario release; they'll have at least a couple of smaller titles along side that.
There's also still plenty of time for further announcements. Throw in a 1-2 Switch sequel, for example, being announced through social media.
But he did say he doesn't know. He gives warnings time after time that plans can change, information is scattered, not all the puzzle pieces are in, etc etc. He usually makes it VERY clear when he's speculating and when he isn't, but people just hear what they wanna hear.I think in the absence of information, it should be okay to just say you don't know. That's why in my post I talked about it being fun to have inside information and engage in leak culture. If he wants to assume it's going to be a general (or larger mini) that's alright, but don't be surprised when people reference your own words to ask questions. There's a difference between blaming insiders, and understanding what's going on communication wise. That's why I said we should manage our disappointment as individuals.
This with Bayonetta 3. Mario and rabbids. Silksong. And we get a very solid DirectHonestly, if we get Persona and Batman Arkham, including non-rumored surprises, I'll be completely fine with it.
This is actually WHY I thought they needed a direct lol. The last 5 games listed all need new info (not Xenoblade anymore after it’s direct I guess) and that’s before taking into account new announcementsIdk how you can look at this list of 2022 games:
Pokemon Legends Arceus
Kirby and the Forgotten Lands
Nintendo Switch Sports
Mario Strikers Battle League
Advance Wars 1+2
Fire Emblem Warriors
Xenoblade Chronicles 3
Splatoon 3
Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope
Bayonotta 3
Pokemon Scarlett/Violet
.. and think they NEED a direct this summer. Nothing on the level of BotW2 or Odyssey but it's still far from a terrible lineup. We've had similar lineups in past years. September is in 2 months and we'll probably have more substantial updates then, including about 2023.
