how do we keep Square Enix from fucking up??

Just picturing vampire space jellyfish invading earth and Metroid Prime 4 getting delayed another few years. That would be some bad luck.

idk, in its own way Advance Wars is pretty darn poor taste - it makes war seem like a lot of goofy fun, when historically it's only rarely like that.
I always viewed the AW CO’s as a group of war game playing cosplayers personally.

Well you are right in the fact that the final boss fight is not fun, or at least not compared to the high standard set by the rest of the game. Calamity Ganon is by far the biggest disappointment of the game imo.

As a parent gamer, I admire the ability to disconnect and go to YouTube for content you don't necessarily want to complete in-game. Even on games I sour on, if I reach a certain point in progression I will basically force myself to push through until credits roll.

Tales of Arise is a recent example. I should I have youtubed that game from the halfway point 😂

I used to be that way as well until my son hit an age/ability when he could beat those annoying bosses or areas with insane difficulty spikes for me, which I readily let him do until he went off to college! So, a habit was formed of not dealing with those things myself and once he left I just stopped when I’d had enough and either watched a video of the game’s remans or just went on to another game without looking back. It’s quite liberating to be able to love a game up to a certain point and then just walk away when it stops being fun.

how would you guys like a new Wario Land?

I kinda think Nintendo is working on one because Takehiko Hosokawa was only an assisstant director on Dread.

Probably wishful thinking tho.
I have written this a few times already, but I am super ready.

If it's along the lines of 2 and 3, I will burst through the roof with joy. If it's along the lines of 4 and Shake it, I will be slightly less enthusiastic, but I will still celebrate wildly.

I have always considered Advance Wars games to be more based on board games than real war, probably due to the cartoonish style + strategy battle system
Curiously, the only time the game tried to lean a bit more heavily into the brutal side of war, critics hated the change in tone. I still like Days of Ruin, though. It has the best plot in the series.

I just started to wonder.. does the No Man's Sky release date trailer have any implications on the Direct next week? I feel like they might've used that one in a smaller Partner Direct as a headliner, whereas now I wouldn't be opposed to think they already announced the date because it's just gonna be quickly highlighted in the infamous 3rd-party highlight reel they always show prior to a big announcement.. well, maybe!

To be honest it's now much higher on my radar aswell.

I think a proper higher budget Advance Wars could evolve the series in many areas.
I'm not saying they should make it overrly edgy, turn it into an action game or bank on Waifus and Husbandos like Fire Emblem, it's not like the series ever had much of a japanese audience really.
They didn't seem to know what to do with the series looking at the last game anyway, a remake is a safe bet, but this whole situation is almost worse than them releasing a game that was too different for the OG fans.
Fire Emblem just doesn’t bank on waifus & husbandos. They help pool interest in the games though. An area which AW seriously lacks in & no the COs do not compare.

Define “proper high budget” because they can do better with the modest budget they have now. Something they really haven’t over the course of the series.

Wario Land with an more ambitious overworld would be really cool. Finding secrets and hidden paths.

It’s so odd for Kit to say he believes Nintendo could be changing the dates because of how people predict things. But then he won’t believe in the 29th because that wouldn’t make much sense with how we got Xenoblade this week.

Wouldn’t that be Nintendo changing itb
I am seriously suprised that he thinks that. I am sure that NCL basically don't care who predicts what, Direct are watched by hundreds of thousands of people and it's job is the tell and show new content that's on the way. A lot of people don't predict and don't look for rumors all together.

I think the PR issue with Advance Wars is not it coming out during the war in Ukraine, but the fact that they already delayed the game and now have to release it during the conflict while it's clear that it's not going to end any time soon. Since it's not like the situation is not still going on. If they don't delay it indefinitely, they will face some level of "people only care about conflicts when they're in the news" claims.

lol @ playing games. My Switch literally gathers dust since day 1. In fact I have two Switches because I need more storage for all the dust.

They won't care one bit about the last point.

The reason they delayed the game is because they couldn't market it in March/April as war was all over the news 24/7.

Right now the news cycle surrounding it has already heavily subdued and the conflict will be even less prevalent in the coming months. That's when they will start to market and release the game.

I'm buying and playing a videogame tomorrow. Some people would even that the game is very anime. And you people will be too busy crying about a Nintendo Direct to stop me.

To be honest with you, am just buying video games and never opening them. These cases are just sitting there and collecting dust, I just want Nintendo to make profit from me, nothing else.

But what if new Wario World?
What if new Wario World plus old Wario World on NSO via a GameCube emulator?

I skipped it back in the day due to the mixed reviews, and now I regret that decision, especially since used copies of the game tend to be awfully overpriced.

The weekend is going to be long, but everyone just relax and wait until at least Tuesday morning before you start dooming, okay? Please? Go play some video games! I hear they’re pretty neat.

Nintendo should make something called "Nintendo Direct Retro" where EPD employees would be talking about past Nintendo systems and games for it. All the memories from years ago. From NES to Wii U.

For example:

Tune in for 50 minutes of Mr. Miyamoto talking about why the Wii U was such a piece of shit.

*Retro name does not mean that Retro's cancelled games would be covered.

There's no reason to rush and force out predictions early. Wait and let the show be announced. Early predictions for an unknown show reek of desperation.
I'm totally with this. I hate creators who rush to make video and video about things that have not yet been announced (and which turn out to be wrong too), so I'm glad to see you think like me
