I wouldn’t be surprised if Fire Emblem doesn’t appear in this upcoming direct.
Yeah it could show up in the September direct but I think having it in the direct right after Three Hopes releasing isn't a bad idea. Might be preferable tbh.

I feel like now that this is leaked out Nintendo will probably just want to reveal it, especially if it was finished late last year and this is showing an old build
Nintendo wont rush their marketing and change their months of planning due to a leak

I think after the FF7 Event airs and the Dragon's Dogma videos come out we will finally start to hear big rumblings about the direct and hardware.

We're not getting hardware announced in the next few weeks, unless you're referring to a special edition Switch for Splatoon or Pokemon.

I mean ...could be. But I give this scenario a 0,5% chance of happening. The game is finished according to Emily and the newest leak and a Summer Direct would be the optimal chance at revealing the game.

But it is Nintendo. So who knows 🧐

Hi I saw you quoted my post but was that an accident by any chance?? Because I can't see a correlation between my post and the others you quoted :)
Ah sorry, tried to respond to too many people at once!

It was just to point out to you the threadmark about now tagging insiders :)

A new pokemon or splatoon edition makes a ton of sense, I'm kind of expecting one or the other at this point. Or even both.

Listen, normally I don't riot about directs but a "one more thing" being a fucking movie trailer would send me. My god what a horrible decision that would be

do it. I want to see the internet burn

but it wouldn't be a closer, it'd be right in the middle like the previous movie news

Was referring to what Sony does. These massive "cinematic" action movie games that have to sell 5+ million units just to break even much less be a massive success. Most of nintendos output isn't anywhere near that expensive to make not even their most ambitious titles.
Yeah but it's still been sustainable was my point, despite what Nintendo does being more so.

Is this a personal opinion of yours or do you know something about this?

For me it would make sense to introduce GCN , since they want to grow this as big as a Game Pass system or PS Plus system…

Opinion.

Do you think GB/GBA are the final console additions to NSO?
Unlikely. They could partner with external companies for additional retro consoles.

And that 4chan rumor is terrible. Why does it lack 3rd party games -- except Rabbids 2? Make some random stuff up.

I imagine this later than usual direct may result in the Fall one being a bit later, too. Whether it be late Sept or early Oct.
It's only two weeks different than usual, so not a massive difference. Fall Direct will still probably be before Tokyo Game Show, which starts on September 15th.

Reminder that Super Mario 3D All Stars leaked 5 months before release and Nintendo said nothing until the actual release month.

That being said, even if there's no room for Fire Emblem on the 2022 release calendar (maybe there is, maybe there isn't!), a reveal this month makes sense to me. Three Houses had the proper gameplay and title reveal in June 2018 ahead of a planned spring 2019 launch, after all.

Here is a far better tales from my ass leak then this nonsense.

- Donkey Kong: Kremlings Revenge is a new 3d DK platformer. You play as DK, Diddy, Dixie, and Cranky in a game that looks heavily inspired by Mario 3D World. Game has 4 player drop in/drop out gameplay. Coming spring 2023

- Tactics Ogre Reborn coming to Switch fall 2022, an upscaled remaster of TO LUCT with a new campaign that also remakes Knights of Lodis from the GBA

- Bionic Command Collection shadow dropped the day of the show, includes every Bionic commando game including Rearmed with new features like rewind and art galleries.

- Eiyuden chronicle gameplay trailer

- Sonic Frontiers gameplay trailer, confirmation of exclusive Switch level that can only be access via the Sonic amiibo, new Sonic amiibo to be released with this game

- Fire Emblem Trials of Destiny announced, see all the stuff emily and nate have posted, coming October 2022

- Trek to Yomi port coming August 2022

- Nintendo exclusive costumes are coming to Among Us, free for NSO+EP members

- Gameboy/Color and Turbo Graphix 16 arc coming to NSO and EP respectively. Games shown include Kirby's Dream Land, Metroid 2, Pokemon Puzzle League, Bonk's Adventure, Alien Crush, and Neutopia.

- Mario Kart 8 deluxe 2nd track pack revealed, dropping after the show

- Deus Ex remaster coming to Switch in September

- Mario movie trailer, along with a tie in f2p mobile game inspired by the film

- Fire Emblem 3 Hopes season pass revealed, free to NSO+EP members

- Free update to Mario Strikers, Daisy is coming in July

- Paid expansion for Mario Party Super Stars to add 4 new boards, Mario Party 3's Chilly Waters and MP2's Bowser Land shown off. Free to NSO+EP members coming Fall 2022

- It Takes Two coming to Switch this holiday, includes a new level that takes advantage of the joycons.

- Genshin Impact for Switch shadow dropping after the show, anyone who downloads in the first month will get a free Samus character.

- Metroid Prime 4: Annihilation gameplay trailer, coming Summer 2023

Someone post this on 4chan for me so someone else can screen cap it and post it here :p

Yeah I saw RGT85 tweet something to this effect which made me sigh.

It’s not like Nintendo isn’t giving us a wide variety of games Switch - heck, already this year we’ve gotten the long-awaited return of the Wii Sports franchise, the return of Mario Strikers (which many thought was impossible nowadays due to Nintendo’s strict control on the Mario IP), the first ever 3D Kirby game, and the first fully open-world Pokémon game. Getting new FE or Xenoblade games is not coming at the expense of a new Star Tropics or Mother 4, ok?
He probably only said it so he can make a video out of it, I would say pay him no mind, but apparently he’s a pretty big Nintendo YouTuber so it’s unfortunate he has a dumb enough audience that’ll agree with him. I’m more confused why people make these complaints without saying the real reason they feel this way lol.

Granted, it’s more-so amusing then anything else.

Probably. But it’s me being more pessimistic cause it’s the game I really want rather then using my logic lol.

I’m not seeing Nintendo revealing Fire Emblem because a handful of pictures leaked lol. They’ll announce it if it was in their plans. If not we’ll see it in September

Basically hoes mad that Fire Emblem is more popular and sells better then their favorite abandoned ip. Not that you or anyone here needs to hear this, but games get made often because a producer/director or studio has a passion for the ip and a good vision of what to do with it. I've used this example before, but nobody at Nintendo thought the 5 Chibi Robo games we got would have sold better then a new F-Zero or new Wario Land, but Skip had a passion for CR and wanted to push the character, trying to help him break through the glass ceiling.

The direct is almost assuredly already finalized and just sitting on a hard drive waiting for Nintendo to hit the upload button on. If there's any last minute work happening it's just doing the translation/localization into the various languages they present the show in.

He already did. His argument was that Xenoblade and Fire Emblem already have a ton of games on Switch, so he'd like to see something else from the developers. For Monolith Soft I get it, but Intelligent Systems has already released two non-Fire Emblem games in the past two years and the latest FE game isn't even made by them lol

- Fire Emblem 3 Hopes season pass revealed, free to NSO+EP members

The warriors games and Xenoblade have had season passes in the past, it will be interesting to see how Nintendo will handle these new ones (if they have them). Will they add them to NSO right away or not? it would sure be nice for my wallet if they did!

Warrior games are 3rd party games with Nintendo IPs like Mario+Rabbids so I don’t think they will be added

It's still a Nintendo IP though? I'm pretty sure Nintendo gets final release decisions. And there's already third party games on NSO.
This is true but I think it would still be considered more third party and I’m sure they would have final say what they want to do with any DLC. My guess is FE:TH DLC wouldn’t be added to NSO but a Xenoblade one might be

So are we still on the June 29th train? Did Miss Pearce say something else or double-down further? I'm kinda out of it.

I think they will, I imagine Nintendo would "foot the bill" to let those season passes on NSO+EP. We're in the great subscription content race/war, it's why my totally legit leak above that you should absolutely post on 4chan as real included both another 3rd party console and several new expansions for free :p

A few other outlets/insiders came out right after to confirm date. Then we had the entire FE leak from a Emily then these alleged screenshots. Nothing pointing away from that date. Apparently some Sonic Frontiers embargo until the 29th as well, so who knows if that ads further credence.

It's pretty embarrassing tbh. Like I don't need another Xenoblade game but I don't care because there's plenty of other games for me to play while people who do want Xenoblade get to play it. People are just way too selfish nowadays and think video game companies should revolve around them.

I give this a 9/10. It just needs GoldenEye!

Twitter mario fans are going crazy rn.

Maintenance really isn't interesting in isolation most of the time. You can only really predict things off of it if you're already expecting something interesting to happen that would require maintenance.

TBH in spitting out tales from my ass I forgot Goldeneye coming to N64, Persona 3-5 ports, and Final Fantasy Pixel remaster ports, all things I actually think we could see in 2 weeks. This is why I don't fake leak for a living it takes too much effort to remember all the shit that you think/"know" will show up 🥵

We need a Splatoon 3 match in the next Direct played by the NCL leads, the same way how Switch Sports was showcased in the last Direct.

I can see…

  • Square-Enix headlines as dual FFT/Tactics Ogre ports, based on PSP versions for summer/fall
  • Capcom headline being Megaman (hopefully)
  • Sega headline being a new remake (wish: nights) and Humankind mentioned on sizzle reel
  • Atlus headline being Persona ports.
  • WB would be Batman collection
  • Konami headline being either a new Bomberman or Castlevania
  • Really don’t know what to expect from Bandai-Namco
  • Unless there is a miracle port from Koei-Tecmo latest new game, I think there won’t be anything new from them
  • Activision-Blizzard would be COD coming to Switch in some capacity. I think there is the only thing that can be announced and generate hype.
  • If EA will be part of it, the most I can see happening is mass effect legendary collection or a miracle port of Sims 4. Maybe it takes two ?
  • Ubisoft already has Mario + Rabbids 2. There is reliable rumors I think of a new PoP 2D title that i can see being announced either in june or september direct.
  • Maybe Take-2 gives us the surprise with impossible ports like borderlands 3 or mafia.
  • I think Microsoft will save Goldeneye 007 remaster for september direct as a shadowdropped
  • I wouldn’t discard a kingdom come deliverance miracle port reappearence in either 2 directs.
There is a good chunk of material if different rumors, speculation and leaks starts to become true
