When will the next Direct air?

Does anyone else think "The Insider" and "Practical Brush" could be the same person? I'm just saying... I've never seen them in the same place at the same time...

Some of my predictions for the direct:

Opening with MK8DX DLC Wave 2. Release in Mid-Late July 2022
Metroid Prime 4 announced for 2023. "We are aiming for a 2023 release. In the meantime, Metroid Prime Trilogy HD is coming September 2022"
New DLC for Mario Golf or Strikers
Bayonetta 3 Trailer
Sizzle reel with random games
New 3D Mario trailer, looks similar to Bowsers Fury but way bigger. No title yet. 2023 release date.
One More Thing: Aonuma shows up with the black screen, talks about BOTW2 a bit, then a trailer is shown. We learn that Zelda is not playable, there are many dungeons in the sky, and changes in the overworld below. Title is Breath of the Wild 2. Release date March 2023.

Nono, you’re absolutely correct that gaming outlets and media journalism in general works like this, where companies can exert an (imo) unreasonable amount of control. Sadly it’s also affecting a lot of other non-media journalism as well.
 
Nate has had his misses but he and others have typically been pretty spot on with Direct dates so I'm not really doubting that week at this point. Seems pointless to get your hopes up for anything before that.

I dunno I actually got the impression that the bolded was exactly what happens.

Maybe select journalists get a peek at specific games, but unrelated to Directs.

Pretty sure gaming journos were shown the 2019 Direct ahead of time but it didn’t include the BotW2 teaser. I remember reading something like that at the time.
 
I’m just…so not ready for a legit successor. Everything is so expensive right now and I want no part of the insanity of trying to find a new console. A Pro model? Whatever. A successor? No thanks.
 
I'm not into FE but I'm kinda fascinated by the leak itself. Am I right in thinking this is the first leaked screenshot from Nintendo since BOTW?

Certain things some outlets get ahead of time. Others are written on the spot. Direct news is often written on the spot (most outlets use multiple writers to cover it quickly), but potentially a big game or two from it is previewed ahead of time.

Some journalists, for example, saw the contents of the E3 2019 Direct (except BOTW2) to get articles ready
 
The Snitch does seem to wait until 1 or 2 days before leaking something, so as soon as a Direct is announced I will not be on the internet lmao

Close to the inverstors.

Later than usual, similar time to the Lite and OLED announcement.

They can really push two or their core games like XC3 and Splatoon 3.

That's my read on it, while I don’t think it would happen.
 
If a switch pro really is coming this year then I have to respect how closely guarded Nintendo kept this thing compared to the oled and lite.

Oh, neat. Thanks for the info. I guess it's been a good few years since a screenshot leak, then. And I guess that also means BOTW was still the last internally developed EPD game to leak. (My selfish intention here is that I'm trying to keep hopeful and rationalize that no other Nintendo announcements will leak - it's more fun to me personally if they don't...I guess I want the first time I learn about a game to be the way they intended to announce it.)

I mean everyone who has info will miss at some point as well because plans change,stuff happens etc. so its ridiculous to be upset if something ends up wrong it likely was true at some point.
