Lol I know right? E3 2021 was a bit of an outlier with so many new game announcements, but let's use it as a reference since it's our most recent summer showcase. There were 4 new 1st-party games and a new Smash character reveal:

  • Kazuya
  • Mario Party Superstars
  • Metroid Dread
  • WarioWare: Get It Together
  • Advance Wars

Smash is effectively a slot that could always be used for another game announcement, as far as the amount of time it takes up. Now that Smash is done, I'm personally expecting to get at least 3 new game announcements (one being Prime HD, another likely being Fire Emblem) and another BOTW 2 showing. The list I wrote out is definitely dreaming big, but I don't think the number of new announcements we're hoping for, whether they're MP4, Nintendogs, or something in between, is too unreasonable haha
Was it an outlier? The last Direct had 4 1st party games we well, as did the Feb 2021 Direct. Your list is very reasonable.
Nate already said it’s coming this year. It’s probably the September or October game
I don't think Nintendo thinks like this. They don't dedicate games to specific months.
@NateDrake out of all the first party Switch games currently in development, that have been announced, leaked or teased. Which one would you say are you most excited to finally see spring forth?

A confirmation?

We’re two weeks away. Nintendo likes to announce summer directs 2 weeks in advance.
Only when connected to E3. There is no E3 so the Direct is likely to be announced the same way as normal.
Hello I'm new here, but I always had lurked those threads, but I was too shy to make an account cuz I'm rather insecure, what would people think about me sometimes...

Anyway
Games I really love are Pikmin (hope Pikmin 4 will soon be announced), FE, Xeno, PlatinumGames mostly, Rhythm Heaven, Ninja Gaiden & mostly rather weird stuff too.

I also love shitty movies like Megapiranha or obv. Sharknado.

I also love to write Songs.

Thank you so much, that you are such a cool community & I hope, i can fit in here.
Welcome!

I do think they announce the direct next week, 2 weeks ahead is a bit much, but I can see them doing it a week in advance

Nintendo has embraced pettiness and is thinking: "You nerds know when the Direct will air because it leaked, so I am going to go ahead and delay the announcement for as long as humanly possible to make you suffer. Also, Breath of the Wild 2 is canceled because of your bad behavior".

Waarom is dit bericht in het Nederlands voor mij? @bellydrum heb je enig idee? De quote in de andere post is in het Engels

Hi I saw you quoted my post but was that an accident by any chance?? Because I can't see a correlation between my post and the others you quoted :)

Maybe i am the only one in this topic. But i don't want the fourth fire emblem game. The serie have enough games on the Switch. So i am not happy with another game in that franchise.
There is only one mainline title FE on the Switch, and FEW was a new3ds ‘cross-gen’ game. I dont see why you would think we have got too many FE games

That's still only one mainline FE game. A second one would be welcomed.

If we count spin-offs, then saturation would be reached way more on Mario/Zelda/Pokémon.

One is enough. We have already so much Jrpg games on the Switch. Plus a overkill Fire Emblem characters in Smash so i think enough for Fire Emblem.
Nintendo only has three active JRPG franchises and some notable RPG developers skip the Switch so Nintendo has to provide where 3rd parties skip

yeah, it's like I started to see a lot of this after Direct date broke when new people come in. It's like, what is a point of doing this, I still don't figured it out. At least I can say that I never tagged an insider here lol
It's not just new people, either

That's not how things work. Fire Emblem fans get Fire Emblem games and non-FE fans can avoid buying them.

Not sure if you’re a parody account or not, but it’s impossible to have enough JRPGs on the Switch.

Bring ‘em all. I’ll buy all of them.

One is enough. We already have too many platformers on the Switch. Plus a overkill Mario characters in Smash so I think enough for Mario.

I must admit I probably have tagged Nate unnecessarily in the past, but I'll refrain from doing so in the future. Last time I did that was asking him about first party stuff, for which stuff he's most excited to see and all that

We already have too many F-Zeros on the Switch. Plus a overkill Captain Falcon characters in Smash so I think enough for Captain Falcon

Even if the direct is on the 28th/29th I find it weird that Nintendo (nor America nor Portugal in my case) made any post today.
NoA almost never posts until 2 or 3 hours from now nowadays unless they have some sort of news to drop

So Nate Drake keeps saying he hinted at the June 29th direct, can we refer to this to defend him from accusations of piggybacking? How was he hinting?
He talked about St Elmo’s Fire and a user correctly figured out it released in theaters on June 28/29. It’s multiple pages back by this point.
I think there was also at least one poster who predicted 28th/29th in this thread, ages back, and their post was the only one with a date prediction that Nate Yeah!ed. I forget the name, but I think it was someone with a skull kid avatar?
