My question there would be: Are these Persona ports considered one of the anniversary announcements? There was no mention of the anniversary in the trailer. Which doesn't mean anything, but I do have to wonder if the "June anniversary announcement" is either something else, or if they're waiting for the Direct to make that clear

That would be weird if they weren’t for the anniversary. “We’re celebrating all things Persona! But not those first ever non-PlayStation console ports!”

Until Teddie and Morgana look me in the eye for their Announcement 5 video and say otherwise, I’m convinced these Xbox ports alongside the unrevealed Switch ports constitute announcement 5.

Yeah, there's nothing to indicate that. It's very usual for people to have info on Sony and Xbox but not Nintendo.

The anniversary celebration itself seems to be very japanese centric so I wouldn't be surprised if they don't view this as an anniversary celebration. Considering how well xbox ports do in Japan.

Yeah I’m taking that angle into account here. It’s why I’m not considering this the full announcement 5 until Switch, or at the very least PlayStation, ports are announced.

I think the thing more likely to rule out June 30th for the Direct is the launch of MHR Sunbreak.

My concern with Snitch is that if they have access to YT videos pre-publishing like people suspect, they may well leak the Direct. I'm hoping Nintendo has thought of that and has a workaround.

I hope that too. Tbh, as soon as I see the announcement of the Direct I'll just stop using everything to avoid spoilers lmao.

Yes, but Nintendo uploads the trailers in advance. When Direct end the trailers are just visible.

NGL I wish I was watching Elder Scrolls VI gameplay instead of Starfield gameplay. Starfield looks great, but it's pretty much just No Man's Sky with Fallout mechanics. Skyrim, on the other hand, hasn't been matched in the ten years since it released. It's been too long.

Direct will probably be Thursday this week. We’re taking our kids down to see family and will be on the road all day. Between that and buying a couple of games a few days ago I’m really doing all I can to jinx myself guys.

You know, a lot of people on this forum were expecting a ton of Switch versions to be confirmed around the same time as the Xbox presentation but of course we didn't get see too many. I would think that after 5 years people would learn their lesson by now. There are many games that simply won't be coming to Switch or announced coming to Switch immediately.

We might still get announcements of ports like for the Persona games but I don't think people should expect these announcements to occur during an Xbox presentation. Don't just automatically assume that something is coming to Switch until it's confirmed by the developer/publisher or posted about by Nintendo themselves.

I really hope P5R comes over. I’ve held off on getting it on PS4 since I played the base version and just do not want to do it again not on a handheld. My fear is only that because it is more work scaling down in spots it won’t happen less than it can’t happen.

Excited we are so close to knowing either way. I know it is early in Japan still, but I find it interesting the Persona 25th anniversary website still hasn’t updated yet. Further makes me think we still don’t have the full story this month.

Also, if I remember right, Catherine Full Body runs in the P5 engine, so technically is possible for the game to run on switch. I don't see them launching 3 & 4 but no 5.

Persona is obviously coming to the Switch. Xbox doesn't see them as real competition so there's no reason they would pay for exclusivity. Now I could see the switch announcement being delayed a month or two so that it doesn't take away from Xbox's hype though.

Honestly, I don't usually post much on fami (might be my first post on here) but I feel like being a doom poster right now. I figure that with P3, P4, and P5 getting put on Xbox gives Switch the best shots of it happening now. I just hope Atlus isn't stupid enough to do P3P, P4G, and P5R as Cloud releases like Square did with the 3 KH releases earlier this year. If there is one way to anger a large majority of the fanbase (imo), it would to do what Square did to KH fans.

Since if P5R is revealed for Switch and is cloud only, I would be sad but I'd at least understand it. If P3P and P4G are real and also are made cloud releases though, then Atlus has made some very questionable choices in my view. I can only hope if all 3 do come to Switch they all run natively. I haven't played any Persona games but if they come to Switch, I'd probably dip on them.

At this point, I kind of expect Atlus to be entirely stupid and release all 3 as cloud ports on Switch because its par for their very unusual decisions tbh.

If he’s really a YT employee (and not just an alias for Tom Henderson as some people suggested), Nintendo could do something about it, I guess : my understanding is that, since the Direct is live, it’s not uploaded on YT servers prior to diffusion (as opposite to a Premiere video for instance). A leaker could still guess most of the announcements from planned videos for trailers that are uploaded on the various Nintendo channels. So Nintendo could upload these during the Direct. It’d result in a slight delay and more work but still manageable, I assume.

Or Nintendo could just send them a cease and desist like they did with Sabi. Either way, I hope they stop him from leaking or that they simply won’t do it. I know it’s just marketing, but it’s always a bit of a bummer having some major announcements revealed in advance.

I am simple man, when I see Direct announced I will just turn off Twitter and everything. That way I don't care if it's gonna leak or not, I will be surprised and that's beautiful.
