For once, i agree like 90% with Arlo's last video. I think he's not considering the effects of covid on BOTW2's development and the game will probably have a lot more than BOTW's original map, but my hype for the game is basically dead right now (though i of course respect those who still feel hyped about it)

I know it's sacrilege to speak of such things but I really appreciate Cosmic Star Heroine for its brevity while still keeping a lot of the things I like about RPGs. I think I’m gonna take around 10-11h for a fairly thorough playthrough and it’s great. It’d be a little bit on the low side for a full-priced game but I wish more RPGs didn’t take 30h+ unless you rush through them.

what statue’s belly / cursed basketball did you rub to gain your power? because I think I need a little dash o’ that

especially since I’m no longer working on just one game…

I haven't played CSH yet but I actually do appreciate brevity in video games. Sometimes I just want an experience that is all killer, no filler.

I had no prior art or coding skills (still none actually) but over the years I started learning UE4 blueprints and I feel like I finally grasp it in a way that clicks in my head.

It's really just about having absolutely no life outside of parenting my kids and doing work. And not playing any videogames.

Edit: also finding a free template that does somewhat similar things to what you want to do

This is why the Mario and Luigi games. 20-30 hours and you don’t have to rush through the game to see most of it.
 
I'm going on vacation soon, and I want a long, meaty game, any recommendations?

I was eyeing 13 Sentinals and the Great Ace Attorney.

Sounds like me and 3D modeling back in highschool(well and somewhat now but it’s on my own terms when I get something I feel like making less than being pushed for a project) too bad I suck at rigging and textures… and anything without some reference. Actually DM me I may be up for lending some asset work if you’re interested. I do simpler stuff but it might be fun to chip in on a project again

No prob, wouldn’t mind messing around with some environmental modeling(which seems to be something you need) and it’d be good practice for figuring out how to properly do collisions for unreal on the export side. Just know that unless I make something to render or model some details in don’t expect the textures to be very good. That’s a weakness of mine

Mario Strikers.

Why is your shooting and Passing buttons in reverse!?

My mind won’t accept it. Please allow us to change jt in the game release NLG.
 
Going to visiti Bydgoszcz in Poland in one week. I'll stay there for three weeks for work. Gonna discover the record shops there for some digging, but maybe Polish fami know more spots to visit?

I don't think 20 character slots necessarily means 20 characters total. They could have just extra slots just in case plans change and they want to do more.

Missed the beginning of the UCL final, i was too entertained with the KK Slider concert (i was in the mood for KK Disco)
 
Can’t believe Liverpool didn’t score a single goal in every final they played this year.

Congrats to Real Madrid. Played 4 tough opponents in the knockout rounds.
 
I’m not a fan of the Metal style for Mario Strikers Soundtrack. Hopes there’s a lot more variety.

But in all honesty, I don’t think the Mario Strikers game had good soundtracks. There’s like only 2 tracks per game I enjoyed. But mostly in the end forgettable.

I think this will be the game where the music improves. Already looks much better visually. The first 2 Mario Strikers game were always a bit ugly, even charged.

There's nothing wrong with enjoying shorter RPGs, a lot of SNES RPGs tend to be on the short side after all. I hope you're looking forward to Live A Live since I've heard that is a pretty solid 30 hour adventure.
 
I’ve been on a game buying spree lately. I got Planet Robobot, preordered Card Shark, bought Kao the Kangaroo for PS5, and got NFS Heat on sale for PS4. My backlog is screaming.

I wanted to like this game more but I didn't really enjoy the writing. It has that self-aware "This is a videogame" indie humor that I think is way overdone in this game.
 
Yeah, Live Alive is a very exciting release. If it were 2 weeks before Xenoblade 3, instead of one, I might even manage to finish it beforehand...

Oh yeah, the writing is definitely not its strongest suit. Luckily it wasn't quite as bad as their other games (Breath of Death VII, Cthulhu Saves the World).
