Man instead of that garbage 1-2 sequel we’re about to get Nintendo really should’ve done a sequel to Nintendo Land. It would do so good on Switch. Nintendo Land was a really great multiplayer experience and used Nintendo’s IPs.
One of the most under-appreciated games Nintendo ever made. The Pikmin and Zelda subgames alone are extensive and compelling.

Quick poll, when will next Fire Emblem be release?

Option 1: Q4 2022 (october-december)
Option 2: Q1 2023 (january-march)
Option 3: Q2 2023 (april-june)
Option 4: +Q3 2023
Option 1 feels super optimistic. If I'm throwing money on it, I'll say 2 or 3.

Option 2. I firmly believe the big holiday game is DK or Mario, which leaves Fire Emblem for February or March depending on when they want to release BOTW2.

Something like this :

  • August : 3-4 Switch
  • September : Mario+Rabbids 2 / Splatoon 3
  • October : Bayonetta 3 / DK
  • November : Metroid Prime / Pokémon
  • December : Style Savvy ?
  • January : Nothing
  • February/March : Fire Emblem
  • March/April : BOTW2

I’m looking at what brand new game announcements could Nintendo announce for this year in the direct. The 1-2 switch thing I think will be it own thing. We know about the ports/remasters MP, TPHD, etc

As far as new that can come this year I see Fire Emblem, DK, Mario or a surprise F-Zero game.

Fire Emblem feels like a 2023 game. Hey I’ll be happy if it comes this year, but I really want a new DK game too lol. I don’t think Nintendo will have 3 more new $60 games coming this year.

Fire Emblem I'd put in early 2023 but I still think things are difficult to judge without knowing the launch date for Zelda. It sounded like Nintendo have games that are ready or nearly ready and therefore aspects of the schedule can be flexible; we've already seen them pull Advance Wars at short notice, and bring Xenoblade forward. I wonder how much more shuffling is going on behind the scenes.

I'm thinking/hoping for option 1. But then again they've already got one big JRPG for the holidays with Pokémon so it's possible they wouldn't put FE there. In which case option 3 seems likely to me

Option 1 because Nate said it was completed or near completion earlier this year, and that late 2022 was certainly possible.

It's not like there's no room. If Nintendo was going to release Breath of the Wild 2 and moved it out, it was either because it needed more time, or because the schedule was already busy. Either way it's cleared space for more than just the releases we already know about - Bayonetta 3, Mario & Rabbids, Pokemon

I wished Nate would tell me more about this new Fire Emblem game. I’m so hyped up for it and I’m afraid I won’t get to see it until September.
We've got a decent list already:
  1. Completed/Near complete - could release H2
  2. Very ambitious
  3. Art style differs from Three Houses
  4. Developed with KT/Gust
  5. Some returning FE characters
  6. Not a sequel to Three Houses
Anything more feels like it would just be better suited for the trailer no?

But does it take place in…space…I’m just joking around lol

I wonder if June will finally bring about Sonic Frontiers gameplay. Really curious to see that running on the Switch.

Look at the bigger adventure games we got from Nintendo this year. All of these have bigger environments and some open world. It feels like a whole different world from the Wii U with 2D platformers complaints. We have no 2D platformers from Nintendo this year lol.

Pokémon Legends Arceus
Kirby and the Forgotten Land
Xenoblade Chronicles 3
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet
Mario + Rabbids SoH (Ubisoft)

Unless I dreamed it, I think they said that Sonic Frontiers would be at the Summer Game Fest? I definitely expect it to show up soon.
Geoff featured it in the trailer for the big IMAX SGF event, so very likely to be there.

I'm currently replaying Three Houses, and yeah I'm down for more Fire Emblem. That game really got me through the first few months of the pandemic.

I just so desperately hope BOTW2 is finally shown off properly, the endless wait for it has become nearly unbearable, and it seems like a very "Nintendo" thing to do to withhold the thing people want to see the most.
Can we rest easy it will be there?

My final prediction for fire emblem is that it will release either early december (2nd or 9th) or by late january (27th).

as Nintendo theorically has various products for fall period (late september to early december) like Bayo 3, Mario + Rabbids SoH, MP1 Remaster, Pokémon S/V and 1 2 Switch Sequel, I inclined to believe more on a late january date.

I was rewatching some E3 2016 reactions for the title reveal of BotW and came upon this funny Rogersbase quote: "Breath of the Wild? The leak was wrong! That's good I didn't like King of Dawn as the title".

Zelda and fake lame titles are a neverending cycle.

I still say my favorite "leaked" Zelda title was "The Unbound King," which was the most widely-circulated title I saw before Zelda WiiU was finally named Breath of the Wild. And in my headcanon there's a chance it was an actual title once under consideration (referring to King Rhoam) that they might repurpose for BotW2 (this time referring to the goddamn King of Thieves🤘)
"King of Dawn," though.. ouch. 😅

Coming soon-ish.....

For some reason read this with a british accent:

I never played a fe game for more than an hour, and three houses doesnt gets my attention due to how ugly it is. Some may call this a petty reason but visuals are important for me, so im excited to see the next FE, based on those rumours that say its going to be a looker :).

It doesnt mean i will never play three houses tho. Just... not feeling it.

Yeah the Niðavellir in FEH were cool, would be nice to see them in a proper game as the cavalry class. My boy Fafnir was wasted on a mobile game
