The last episode of this season is also 2 and a half hours long. I love Stranger Things but come the fuck on this is ridiculous lol
 
The second stream of indie live expo 2022 was very good, it had more games than yesterday. Also they had live perfomances and they had a cover of the Cuphead Intro with a shamisen and enhu, and now I want a cover for all the soundtrack with those instruments. You can see it here (2:28:14 if the timestamp doesn't work)

So all GCN era games are bad? The difference between GCN and most Wii games that don't rely on motion controls is almost 0.

You're really gonna say that the entire NES/SNES/N64 library, half the Gamecube library including Pikmin, Metroid Prime, and Windwaker, GTA Vice City, Half Life, etc, all suck? Bruh.
 
What really hurts me is that if we get one more 3D Mario this generation is will for certain not by Odyssey 2, which is kinda disappointment for me since I think Cappy mechanic is just too great for one game only.

If any publisher were prepared to spend 5 years or more making a direct sequel, it would be Nintendo. Just look at Zelda.

I wouldn't rule Odyssey 2 out yet; though it will be interesting to finally learn more about EPD 8's activities.
 
Made my likely last Wii U purchases. I picked up

-Pandora's Tower
-Sin and Punishment: Star Successor
-Metroid: Zero Mission

Now I got to think about my 3DS purchases. I'm probably looking at
-Pokemon Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire
-Dragon Quest VII
-One or both of the 3DS Kirby games

Edit: Actually Kirby Triple Deluxe is cheaper physical since it got a Nintendo Selects release.

All I'm saying is that I started gaming in 2011 and every single game I've played released before the PS2 era I've dropped it for various reasons (more often then not high difficulty and the lack of "guidance" on what to do next), the only exception being SM64.

Replying to Magic-Man specifically: I don't like any of this games except for the Black Mesa remake of HL1, the original is in the pile of dropped games.


Before somebody asks, no, I can confirm I'm not Jim Ryan.

Not even Chrono Trigger? That’s a very snappy and streamlined game. Other then That racing mini game.

Specifically: I tried Pikmin 3 Deluxe Demo and I respect it for being original and different but it wasn't for me, Metroid Prime I played it at a friends house on Wii as a teen and I had no idea what I was doing (I later gave Metroid Dread a chance and that wasn't for me either, I never managed to beat the final boss on normal mode and I don't have the time to replay it on easy mode), Wind Waker HD is my brother's favorite game and I've played it but I didn't went further than the dungeon with the guards and lights where you have to stealth your way in (I also tried MM3D, dropped, and TP on Wii, dropped. I do love BotW however.) GTA VC looked ugly but I played and liked doing weird, stupid stuff in GTA SA, the OG Half Life was too hard for me but HL2 is one of my favorite games of all time.

Revise this to “I don’t personally like games from before 2004” and maybe I’ll recover.

(wtf how can anyone say this about Metroid Prime AND Super Metroid)

I know, but at this point am not really sure. Zelda games takes forever and they are always delayed. With Mario it's little bit different, with also smaller team working on it, not as massive as open world Zelda etc. But we will see.

Older games, especially RPGs, can be pretty obtuse at times. The most annoying lack of QOL thing from older generations was the lack of save points, or rather save points that were very far part. Thankfully this is alleviate with sleep modes on modern systems and rewind features on the NSO.

Frankly, I recommend just using online guides to play through older RPGs. It will cut down on the frustration and you can get to the good parts much quicker.

I see. You might like that one. Well, the introduction is a bit shaky but gets better after that.

Paper Mario on N64 is a classic that’s the best in the series so that one can’t be written off.

Your compliants on Prime is one of the reason the series isn’t that big. It’s rather a gamer oriented series speaking to a very specific niche. Original Prime is a masterpiece but not for everyone.

I tried to play most of them and I could't finish any of them. With Mario 2D especially there is a strong skill issue as I'm currently stuck on world 6 of NSMBU too.

I did play and complete the remake of Pokémon later.

Usually I recommend Mario World as the "beginner's Mario game" since 3 is harder. But is your difficulty with the game the platforming or getting hit by enemies? Because what I recommend changes depending on that.
