Betting that one of the newly announced games for the Summer Direct will be SNES Remix.

If I keep saying it, I will be right eventually. Right? Right?

I loved what they did for NES Remix and would kill for an SNES Remix, but I think they’re done with that idea.

It was very much of-its-time. The gameplay/scoring model (get 3 stars on every level) was just what every mobile game (angry birds) was doing before they all went f2p. Technically, it was an interesting way to repackage NES games with some simple emulator tricks (overlays, patching sprites). But now with NSO they have a subscription service for these games and regularly add SP versions. It’s clearly not the same experience, but I think it scratches the itch of sampling old games without playing all the way through.

Still, I’d love SNES Remix.

Yeah, if it doesn't happen within the next year or two, I will probably be convinced that this is the case.

Was thinking of how I would like to see a new Fire Emblem in the next Direct and was reminded of the idea of a space opera Fire Emblem that has been floated in Direct Speculation ST1 by @Ozzie, iirc.

Space opera, or steampunk, or more a mix of magic and high-tech could be really cool

Something like the magic/tech mix that you saw at the end of the golden deer route, for example. But not really a secret or hidden, just integrated into the world this time. People can have mechanical weapons/rocket glaives/whatever! Fun stuff!

Mix of magic and high-tech immediately sounds like Star Wars to me, which is not a bad thing. While Star Wars is more high-tech in its setting, with magic/fantasy serving as a background, FE could easily go the opposite direction, imo.

Steampunk is another direction they could take inspiration from, and they already have with FEH. But I would like to see it in a mainline game as well.

I said it on multiple occasions on this forum. But a NES/SNES Remix 99 makes so much sense for me. I would kill for something like that.

Nate promised us a new Fire Emblem in space.

Speaking of new FE, I really hope we get some more info on that soon. Its been too long since the last mainline, and as much as a Iove Fodlan, its definitely more than played out at this point lol. Hope we hear about it in the coming days

So far we only have this

“Correct. It's a new mainline game. Some FE characters will return, in some way. Very ambitious in scope. It's not a 3H sequel.”

Three Houses was really my first attempt at Fire Emblem and I loved it. I love the monastery. I want some kind of hub like that again.

It’s too early for me to get hyped for a new FE when I haven’t decided whether I’m getting Three Hopes or not. Everything hinges on how important strategy is going to be. I enjoyed Age of Calamity but I’m not in the mood for another Musou game where I can just mindlessly rip through everything.

Just make the new hub better in the new Fire Emblem and I’ll be excited. Too many repeated activities and I got done leveling everyone up where I needed them way before the game ended.

I wouldn't mind a reduced emphasis on the hub or an improvement of it, either way. I just hope we get a good set of characters/plot and better map design that TH, the map design was that game's biggest flaw(along with how easy it is to cheese)

Oh yeah better maps too I agree.

Triangle Strategy's maps were great and offered good variety. Granted, that game plays very differently overall with its bigger emphasis on unit positioning, but 3H had rather bland, less interesting maps in comparison.

I know you are not making much of 4Chan BS Leaks, but check this out... this has to be the supidest "4chan Leak" I ever seen.

• Banjo Tooie, Jet Force Gemini and DK64 are all coming to Nintendo Switch online in the next few Months.
• Bayonetta 3 is currently slated for a Q1 2023 release.
• Castlevania Synphony of the Night is Coming to Switch in October
• Crash Bandicoot Wumpa League is coming to the Switch among other platforms and will only retail.for around $29.99 but will be filled with IAP's. Will be out in November.
• Ridge Racer will be returning to multiple platforms including Switch to commemorate it's 30th anniversary. A new f2p game will be coming "relatively soon"
• A new kirby collection is coming and will be out before his 30th anniversary celebrarion is over. Most likely early next year.
• Nintendo Selects will be making a return this Summer and will include games such as Mario Kart 8, Luigi's Mansion 3 etc games will get a perrmanent price drop to $39.99
• A megaman gameboy Collection will be coming in the fall and will include the gameboy versions of megaman 1-5 and well as 3 bonus games.
• Metroid Dread will be recieving a Master Quest style DLC which will cost around $10 will be out end of June.
• Skies of Arcadia Remastered coming to PC and Switch.
• Yacht Club games is working "closely" with Nintendo on a yet to be revealed sectet title.
• wind waker and twilight princess HD are coming in February 2023 but will not be the same as the Wii U versions. Those who purchase both games will get access to a demo of the BOTW sequel.
• Metroid Prime Remastered has been in development since late last summer and will likely release by next year. Developed by Grezzo and Nintendo
I know I'm late to the party on this but I had a good chuckle over WW/TP being split purchses, and making people buy both games to gain access to a BOTW2 demo.

Like holy shit that would work on people like myself who thought "Well, I already played and beat them on Wii U, why do it again so soon?"

Yea, my one complaint with Three Houses is how much things dragged between chapter battles. It makes multiple playthroughs tougher.

Fire Emblem in space

And yes, I know this video is from the modern remake and not the original series but I'm too lazy to scrolls through the old OPs

Announce the damn direct Nintendo or else I would be force to post a thread on Era on how Zelda lost its magic with Breath of the Wild and how it needs to learn from good games like Elden Ring.

🤪

I don't know if Treehouse is a given if this isn't an official E3 event
I’d be surprised. It’s easier to set up Treehouse without E3 being involved. They’ve had no issues doing treehouse outside of E3 before.

It’s a tradition I wouldn’t stop. It’ll always give some unique insight for players to delve into stuff like BotW 2 way before it comes out. Plus I like to be advertised too!

If there were no treehouse it would feel incomplete to me and show how important E3 is to me I guess. Ever since they started it in 2014 I loved it. It’s so perfectly complimentary to a Nintendo Direct and I wished they did it for their February and September Directs. They could do a much shorter version for those and I’d be happy. I love seeing gameplay.

I can't wait for them to do gameplay demos of all their games rated E to T and then do another, completely separate stream directly afterwards for Bayonetta 3

Nintendo is not dropping Mario Kart 8 DXs price to $40. It still sells millions upon millions of copies a quarter at full price. 4chan posters could at least try a little bit.

Nintendo has done Treehouses streams outside of E3 before, but idk if they'd do one after a Direct in the Summer without it being attached to E3 somehow.

I guess it depends if they were planning to do it before E3 was cancelled.

Hasn't there only been like one or two non E3 treehouse streams, and they were during the peak of the pandemic. I wouldn't say they set a precedent, this June will set the precedent for Nintendo's June presence without E3

I don’t agree a precedent will be set. One time doesn’t really mean there’s a precedent set. Also, E3 should be back in full force with public coming out in 2023.

I think we have to get new information about Grezzo/Good-Feel games if they are published by Nintendo at this point, Grezzo hasn't released a game since 2019 and Good-Feel 'Yoshi' team isn't the same that the one that made the Monkey game iirc so they should have been working on something (probably the 'goemon' game) during this 3 years, and probably Nintendo is the one who publishes the game if it does get a WW release.

The goemon-like game is developed by the Osaka office while the Yoshi series is from the main office in Tokyo. The game was supposed to be released last year according to an interview with Famitsu. Maybe Nintendo was impressed by the project and decided to help with development? we will definitely see it in the June direct.

Oh yeah lol. Awakening originally was set on Mars but they scrapped the idea and went to traditional medieval fantasy as the final game in the series. I speculated the next FE game could be set in space because of Nate's hint (red and blue) but he said it isn't lol.

The only hints we got for the next mainline FE game is red and blue, returning iconic characters and during his speculation videos, Marth was on the thumbnail with red hair.

Hope this means we get a new Yoshi game soon, (Crafted World was one of my favorite game of 2019 at least top 4 even if I know it wasn't that well received) , I'd love them to be able to deliver another Yoshi game but that it doesn't follow the Wooly World / Crafted World formula, I want them to make something different it doesn't need to be 3D though I think Yoshi 3D would be weird to use. Maybe a game more focused on platforming like the latter Crafted World stages?
