Eli should block him
The answer to someone treating someone poorly is not “they can ignore it”. If blocking all of someone’s content over one disagreement is our first course of action here we are doing something wrong.

Eli hates Brock so much that he can't bear to reply to him to the extent he has to announce it

I also didn't say "ignore being treated poorly," I said "block people you dislike instead of making a scene"

Anyway, not the place for this in the first place– any of this, my post included.

My support for all the people of ukraine 🇺🇦 Makes me sick to the stomach this is happening in modern times fuck Putin he is full on insane and lost his complete mind.

Seen so much heartbreaking footage that it was hard to keep it all together last day mentally. I can't even imagine how hard it must be for the people there. My thoughts goes to you all 🙏

I've seen it on twitter so I'm really not sure about this, I was wondering if you were aware of the issue. There are some ukrainian twitter accounts saying this info is not true, like this one for example :

(But this one in particular sounds fishy because this same account is also denying the fact that "Azov battalion" is a neo-nazi unit, which it clearly is.)

On the other hand you can find lot of people on twitter claiming that Army SOS do have ties to neo nazi and far right groups :

Yeah, we don't need donation links for any military on this site anyway.

I've removed the links and am only going to spotlight fundraisers for humanitarian aid

That's a good call. I have not seen any reputable source push any funding link for the military. I've been following many Ukrainian reporters or reporters who specialized in Ukraine/Russia since the invasion of Crimea.

Weapons have now been handed out to civilians:

As Russian forces advance on the Ukrainian capital, the authorities are calling on the population to do everything they can to resist the invading troops.

Both the Ministry of Defence and the Interior Ministry are appealing to Kyiv residents to "inform us of troop movements, to make Molotov cocktails and neutralise the enemy".

A leaflet with step-by step instructions of how to make petrol bombs has been posted on the Ministry of the Interior's social media.

Interior Ministry adviser Vadym Denysenko says 18,000 machine guns "have been handed out in Kyiv to all volunteers, all those who want to defend our capital with weapons in their arms".

"Ukrainian military equipment is entering Kyiv now to defend it. I am asking all residents of Kyiv - please do not film it, do not film its movements. This is necessary to protect our city."

Choosing this moment for an "I told you so" is in very poor taste. You are receiving a one-week threadban from this thread. -blondkayvon, Donnie, hologram
Anyone really want to argue with me again, that Putin is insane and has lost his mind?

The fact that Putin is telling obvious lies doesn't necessarily mean that he's "insane" you know (I'm not saying he can't be)

He has prepared this war since several years and is the unchallenged leader of a mafia state since 23 years. You make a huge mistake if you think that he lost his mind.

Praying for the people of Ukraine and hope that anyone from Famiboards who is from there or has family abroad manages to stay safe. This is terrible.

China abstained in the UNSC vote, rather than support Russia.

That is significant.

This is HUGE regarding world politics: The voting of China is no surprise but India/UAE? This invasion is really the beginning of a new world order and the complete end of the American hegemony.

You read this wrong, China didn’t vote no because Russia has the veto power. The entire vote was just symbolic because it was clear that Russia would strike it down, it was about showing your side. These three states have sent the message that they agree or have sympathy for Russia.

It was largely expected China would give a show of support to Russia, and western leaders lobbied them to abstain rather than show public support. So whether or not there is sympathy, the voting result shows that aside from the aggressor nation, everyone has either voted against them or at least not for them. It’s incredibly important because it lays bare that Russia is politically isolated.

I think you've rather misread this. The whole concern in recent days was that of a Russia-China axis of autocratic states in opposition to the 'rules-based order'. The fact China abstained - rather than voting against the motion to help Russia - indicates China is still ambivalent at Putin's course of action. Don't forget Ukraine is a major trading partner for China - and Chinese diplomats were repeatedly insistent no invasion would happen, despite receiving intelligence briefings from the US from November onwards. The China-Russia relationship is more complex than simple opposition to the West.

India is no surprise - they are heavily reliant on fertiliser imports from Russia, and they also receive large amounts of military hardware from Russia. The military supplies further indicate how complex the geopolitics are here - India's chief military rival, after Pakistan (a country which has also avoided condemning Russia, PM Khan was even in Russia when the war began), is China; in other words, India relies on Russian hardware to bulk up its military in response to border clashes with China, while Russia hopes China's largesse and tolerance will aid it in conflict with the West over Ukraine.

This. India is just playing the middle. As for the UAE, I believe their leader or someone significant is about to meet with Putin on Monday. UAE is also going to be apart of a resolution involving Saudi Arabia and the Houthis, so the UAE doesn't want to ruffle Russia's feather when they don't have to.

Fighting going on in Kyiv right now apparently. Shit.
Yup. I believe in North-Western and South Kyiv there are multiple battles. A metro station is on fire. This is likely Russian paratroopers trying to gain a foothold in the city. I haven't exactly seen video of heavy armor.

By current reports, Ukraine has been able to take down two Russian IL-76 planes, which are estimated to carry an average of 150 paratroopers each.

The city of Nikolaev/Mikolaiv was also successfully defended.

Yeah, there has been a lot of miscalculations on Russia’s part, but one of the biggest ones has been the false assumption of air superiority.

What's up with this discrepency?
Ukraine Anti-Air has shot down at least two transport carriers tonight, and British Intelligence has been reporting that Russia has not been able to secure air superiority as of earlier this evening.

Yeah, they probably expected that Ukrainian soldiers would not be able to properly learn and assimilate the higher grade tech provided. Though that was a noticeable error.

However, it could also be because of Russia's forces being a tad desperate to restore their ground forces. If reports are taken as correct, yesterday left serious losses on Russia's side.

It had been reported Russia had only movilized 1/3 of the ≈ 190k troops they had surrounding Ukraine. So we are talking that Ukraine took down almost 5% of their ground troops in a day.

Putin's desire to quickly take Kyiv may be playing into this overall miscalculations too. People have been tracking the traffic signals to follow Russia's troops, and they are just making a straight line down Peremohy Avenue to Kyiv's center. Which leaves them open to fire on every side.

Plus, that came around 36 hours ago, when we still didn't have much info on how the situation on the air was. So it was assumed that Russia had the expected air superiority. Which thankfully didn't materialize.

Been following this non-stop all week. My heart goes out to the Ukrainian people. They are some of the bravest people I know. Their leader, Zelensky, they need to erect statues of no matter what happens.

I recall warning about this guy named Putin, you may have heard of him lately, and people here were making fun of me for doing so.

Something about me being a nutter. Strange. Saying I was a warmonger for wanting to defend Ukraine. I wish I could do more and I’m sure many of you do now too.

President Biden has signed a memorandum giving the Secretary of State the authority to provide $600 million of help to Ukraine. Out of those, $250 million for overall help and $350 million are specifically designated for defense purposes.

MEMORANDUM FOR THE SECRETARY OF STATE

SUBJECT: Delegation of Authority Under Section 506(a)(1) and Section 614(a)(1) of the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961

By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, including section 301 of title 3, United States Code, I hereby delegate to the Secretary of State the following authorities, subject to fulfilling the requirements of section 614(a)(3) and section 652 of the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961 (FAA), in order to provide immediate military assistance to Ukraine:

(1) the authority under section 614(a)(1) of the FAA to determine whether it is important to the security interests of the United States to furnish up to $250 million in assistance without regard to any provision of law within the purview of section 614(a)(1) of the FAA; and

(2) the authority under section 506(a)(1) of the FAA to direct the drawdown of up to an aggregate value of $350 million in defense articles and services of the Department of Defense, and military education and training, and to make the determinations required under such section to direct such a drawdown.

You are authorized and directed to publish this memorandum in the Federal Register.

He has also seemingly asked Congress to approve $6.4 billion in funds that will be directed to help Ukraine.

Edit:

American officials seem to have confirmed the two fallen planes.

Recent numbers coming from Ukraine, Zelenskyy's office and the military.

3,500 killed Russian soldiers + 200 captured would have the Ukranian military taking out close to 6% of the first troops sent in by Russia. It is unknown how many are wounded and what is the % of attack troops in that first group sent in.

A attempt of taking a key airfield in Vasylkiv by Russian troops was repelled by the military and home guards.

This Twitter guy belongs to the propaganda team of the Ukrainian army, there are no proofs/photos of the two aircraft carriers or anything. CNN has reported that there are fights from all 4 directions in Kiev and that they are coming closer and closer.

This guy also tweeted about the ghost of Kiev, a hoax about a jet fighter who doesn’t exist. I am afraid the reality check for many people will be brutal.

Yeah this is just naked propaganda, like, how do you kill 3500 soldiers in two days lol

Ukraine's military has made this statement. You don't believe the official statements of the Ukraine army's General Staff, yet you freely and knowingly share Russian state media sources. Got it.
I mean, the military lies. Like, all the time, from all the countries.

Propaganda to boost the moral, you should read the published propaganda of the Hussein regime during 2003 invasion. Do you also trust the propaganda of the Russian ministry?

Yeah, the number sounds extremely improbable for the amount of time. Though still possible, considering the two planes from last night alone should represent ≈ 300 - 400 depending on capacity. Another 3100 - 3200 do not sound that far-fetched considering all the different battlefronts.

US officials also confirmed the information. The information is not only coming from *Kyiv.

Ponomarenko is from the Kyiv Independent; and NEXTA is the Ukranian branch of checks notes a Belarrusian media outlet. That a branch of a outlet from Belarus is tweeting pro-Ukraine propaganda is extremely doubtful.

I know they're useless, but the constant barrage of insults directed at Putin online will never cease to get a proud smile out of me. It's awesome seeing the internet focus their collective anger at one guy.

Do you also trust the propaganda of the Russian ministry?
Are you seriously equating Ukraine's messaging to the Russian state propaganda machine?

The US and Belarusa are confirming the two planes downed.

According to Marco Rubio, there's something about Putin we don't know that might have influenced his decision.

There are two reasons being speculated;

1) Currently he has some weird adviser type by his side, who many speculate has been pushing him to take a more active approach. His name escapes me for the moment.

2) Heavily rumoured, but a lot of people speculate he’s in the final stages of an illness. Thinking about it, it’s not that strange. Look at the most recent photo’s and tv appearances; he’s bloated, his eyes seem unfocused at times and he is certainly more tyrannical and distant towards leaders and even his own countrymen.

Wouldn’t surprise me at all that in his little mind he thinks the Russian public would be disappointed if he were to die, and doesn’t have anything to show despite all his speeches lamenting the fall of the Soviet Union and wishing to restore Russia to its former glory.
