Thank you all for your thoughts on my current conundrum. They were all quite helpful; I'll definitely consider taking a break from playing for a while. Not until I try Nintendo Switch Sports this weekend, though.

Speaking of which, unpopular opinion: Ring Fit Adventure is as much a major internal new IP as ARMS is.
It’s MORE of a major internal IP than Arms. I mean comparing the two games’ reception, sales (including legs) and general staying power Ring Fit wins in every category.

I don't think this is all that unpopular, at least on here. In fact, Ring Fit is much more of a "major IP" than ARMS is, given the huge gap in sales between the two.

I was talking to a co-worker the other day, and we got onto the topic of video games. From what I’ve gathered, he mostly plays AAA titles on Xbox but has a Switch for big name first-party titles. I asked him if he was going to play the new Kirby game, and he instantly lit up and gave me a hearty HELL YEAH. Followed by, “when I found out they were making a new one, I was instantly on board” - which kinda caught me by surprise, because I don’t consider Kirby titles to be scarce.

Out of curiosity, I asked him what the last Kirby game he played was and he said “the one with the mirror” - and just to make sure, I asked him if he ever played Epic Yarn or Star Allies, and he didn’t recognize them.

Which brings me to the point of my post… Forgotten Land is going to be huge, isn’t it? I already had a feeling this would act as a sort of “return to form” for our pink ball of chaos and ultimate power, but my small demographic sample has solidified that for me. And I feel like I’ve seen a similar reaction with a lot of first-party Switch titles, including some Wii U parts. That idea of “oh it’s been so long since I’ve seen this character!” and an immediate eagerness to play. Even if that series has had multiple 3DS and Wii U titles - or heck, even Switch titles that came out before the ACNH boom!

if you follow the breadcrumbs, there’s a nice easter egg

and that’s all I’ll say for now

Ring Fit Adventure is one of the most innovative gaming ideas this generation and should be on the easy shortlist for game of the generation.

wait I’m not sure we’re talking about the same thing

or

are we??

oh god why do I keep doing this to myself

I used the Now That’s What I Call Music! 69 cover for my e shitpost and wanted to make a nice joke because the abyss is the only functional part of my brain today

Maaaaaaaaann...Miitopia?! Even Tetris Effect would have been better

Hi.

A few wookiee based updates.

I love Peach's plane. Fantastic design.

Amazon forgot to ship my copy of Horizon so now I have to play more Mario & Luigi.

My wife is pregnant again - have to get to the bottom of how this keeps happening.
🤔
I've realized that probably 70% of my water intake comes from coffee. That's not a problem is it?

(but for real mazel tov and congrats!)

pokemon day is in 9 days! are we expecting anything specific beyond legends DLC?
I don't want to get my hopes up but all I want is more updates for Arceus hnnnnnnnnnggggggg

Me: I need to start saving money

Also me: let's see what's new in the deals subforum

I started typing in 'Canada' on the google search bar for news but fortunately I caught myself and closed the tab because I refuse to give myself anymore stomach ulcers

On a 3 hr drive right now. Switch is a blessing. All this talk about the 3ds lately almost made me bring it

How is this an unpopular opinion? RFA currently has 13+ million units in sales (Source). ARMS is somewhere around 2.5 million at this point.

EDIT: Whoops, didn't see I wasn't on the latest page and @LuckyNumber69 already covered this

First two images and first pricing game for ST6 done and dusted. Haven't been this excited to create stuff in quite some time.

Hold on. This Canadian KFC sandwich comes with milk in a plastic bottle? I was made to believe Canadians drink milk from a bag. Not sure I can get on board with this.

I hope you all have a great weekend.

Majora's Mask is next week so that'll be fun to replay.

I mean Ring Fit is even more of a "major IP" than Splatoon, if we go by sales on Switch.

Imagine someone going back in time to like 2014 or 2015 and claiming the Wii U's successor would have an open-world Pokemon, a new Pokemon Snap, sequels to No More Heroes, Marvel Ultimate Alliance, Deadly Premonition, The World Ends with You, and Soul Hackers, a 3D Kirby, Metroid Dread and Prime 4, ports of Final Fantasys 7 through 12, and that it would outsell the Wii.

The unpopular part of that is thinking for a second that ARMS is anywhere near the level of Ring Fit.

Lmao. Cheers man. Yo when are you going to nominate me to OP a thread. That’s the only way I know how to get in line.

Unfortunately I have to lower my previous MC score for this thread to 88 due to the overabundance of anime

Me in 2014 hearing this prophecy:

So I had literally one sip of beer at 5:30 and I've been hiccuping violently for the past 2 hours. I have the worst hiccups, they're full body spasms basically and I've actually thrown out my back from hiccups before.

I want to die.

Good luck mate, don't die on us. Ever tried to eat a sugar cube dipped in vinegar ? I know it sounds weird but I have bad hiccups and 60% of the time, it works all the time

Some poor kid is gonna try out Cuphead after watching the Netflix show and be in for the worst gaming experience of his life lol

Hope it wasn’t my boy that caused this. He only takes you to the land of pleasant living

What’s everyone playing this weekend?

I’m playing Arceus nonstop, but I might give The Show a try with that tech test. Just to see what it looks like.
Probably finishing up Arceus this weekend, not sure what I'll play next. It's probably either going to be The Ace Attorney Trilogy or Astalon: Tears of the Earth, which'll serve as my "waiting to see when I get my Steam Deck so I can play Elden Ring" games. Or might try out the Triangle Strategy demo instead (though I'm hesitant on that since I might not play the game for a while depending, again, on when I get my Steam Deck).

That sounds incredibly disgusting... If this stays with me all night I might have to though.

It was his neighbor just to the west, Flying Dog.

Well, on the positive side, Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour has started. That should be fun.
