it's still there

true story, we actually had a firehouse a little ways away, but it closed while I was attending. the one time I tried to go I walked in and I shit you not was completely ignored

I just sorta left, and within half a year they did too
I had firehouse today and it was kinda just ok

Subway might reclaim the throne yet

firehouse is whatever tbh

I unfairly clowned on you about not customizing at other places; being able to walk into a place and point at what you want in your food is an undervalued service

firehouse is like literally only good at hot subs and even at that only the one they're most known for and that's about it

edit: least in my experience*

I think it depends on what kind of subs you like to get. Firehouse is much better at hot subs and meat-heavy subs (which is really the only kinds I go for). Their meatball blows subway's away, and stuff like the beef and cheddar and new york steamer are killer. I can't really speak for the veggies, though.

hot subs are cheating imo

in typical stubborn raccoon fashion I get a cold italian everywhere and compare based on that

(jersey mike's is the best chain for this btw)

... there are subs other than hot subs? confused look

What sorcery is this? You all really be out here ordering cold subs???

hot subs are just stuff that places an emphasis on a lot of meat and hot toppings, like melty cheese or roast beef.

i guess technically when I get a "cold sub" it does have melty cheese and toasted bread but it has a ton of vegetables and spicy toppings and cold cuts. I honestly prefer ordering something like an italian sub to a roast beef sub or some other hot sub equivalent and like Raccoon said I feel like you can really tell the quality of a place by how good their cold subs are. Like if their italian sub isn't good you know they aren't really that good to be honest.

That might explain it, I don't typically do many if any veggies on my subs, so to me meat, cheese, bread, and sauce is literally all I want on a sub anyway.

Don't get me wrong, I like salads. But I don't want them in my sandwich, thanks.
Firehouse really is just okay. Anyone around Central/Upstate New York knows that DiBella's fucking ROCKS though
This is straight facts, though. Their cheesesteak is A+

Been sucked into Pokemon all week but wanted to check in to say I had Subway for dinner. It was okay (they forgot or didn't have the correct sauce).

Also
E: I wanted to make a follow-up on "is this what my dad felt when That 70s Show first came to TV" but then I remembered that's being rebooted into That 90s Show and yeah, I too will know that exact pain before long
What the fuck

crumbles into dust

I was always scratching my head at people saying the Pokemon-BotW game wouldn't reach the same levels, if not exceed, the traditional games.
I think people overestimated how much people cared about multiplayer battling and the traditional gameplay structure of Pokemon. Plus generally underestimating how well the game would end up being recieved

I’m lmao-ing @ top 10 best selling games of all time in Japan all being Nintendo games, and half of them being Pokemon games.

Stumbled across this video just now. Could Nintendo have hinted at BotW2's premise in the first game?

Probably not. But it's certainly interesting considering what BotW2 ended up being.

I just realized my signature needs to be updated lol. I think I will wait until after the direct though.

Actually scratch what I said about Crypt of the Necrodancer earlier… I just went back to the game, cleared Zone 5 with Cadence and then cleared Zones 1 through 5 with Melody. Only Aria remains now… Hope I can beat it.

Well managed to blow through missions 43-5 of Super Robot wars X today so I’m pretty happy. 6 missions left then I’ve beaten my second SRW game!

I'm sorry but imo this sounds absolutely horrible haha
Really? Just reading the description again is making me want to literally go to the store right this minute to buy the ingredients to make it, it sounds delicious. It's basically all my favorite sandwich ingredients in one.

Idk mayo mixed with a-1 and ranch is weird to me. I also hate mayo, a-1, and pickles which is why I said imo. Maybe I'm the weird one lol

Jimmy John's is still (and always will be) the king

But can we let Firehouse have one full ST before throwing it back in the trash?

That's totally fair, I know a lot of people who hate mayo. Personally, I love it and I'd eat it on nearly anything. Same with ranch, A1, and pickles (kosher dills for me, I'm not a big fan of sweet ones).

You're not weird, though. If it makes you feel better, I hate ketchup, which automatically makes me pretty weird :p

This thread constantly talking about US centric food chains makes me feel like such an outsider sometimes.

The only one we have here that’s constantly mentioned is Subway and I don’t even like it that much.

Can you blame us? It's the only thing about the US we can be proud of lol

I swore off ketchup years ago. Malt vinegar, ranch or honey mustard for the rare occasions I get fries. Also hate yellow mustard. Dijon and honey is ok though

Darn, I lost a $20 bet that Dread would outsell Metroid Prime's lifetime sales by 2022. It was super close and will no doubt happen soon, but rip

Aioli is king of the sauces. Though in the US, we call everything Mayo based aioli even if it doesn’t have garlic. You can make so many mayo based sauces for almost any application. Hot sauces are up there too, but they don’t have as wide an application I feel (but damn good for adding flavor to most types of food).
