Colorado, near Boulder (I was working by there today). We had 100+ wind gusts that took down power lines and caused fires, the worst one has burned over 600 homes in a mostly suburban area, I've never seen anything like it
Fucking hell. Stay safe.

I'm not! Thanks! It was just surreal driving away from all that and avoiding road closures and such, and then realizing that we're dealing with this kind of wildfire on a night where it's supposed to get down to around 15 degrees and snow tomorrow.
Yeah I can't imagine. I know it's not really related (since the fires were started by fallen power lines) but after having my 60° Christmas I kinda assumed outrageous stuff like this is gonna be more commonplace. 😑 It's like gnarly disasters are just gonna be a thing from now on.

If there's any other ColoradoFam here, yall be safe!!

Oh for sure, I have a feeling that more and more extreme weather weirdness is only going to increase, unfortunately.

And I know Jeff Grubb lives nearby, but he already tweeted out that he's safe and not super close.

We had wild fires in my area a couple of summers ago. This is next to the Puget Sound where we don’t get the kind of dry underbrush to keep fires going. Had friends that had to evacuate and my kid’s school year was even delayed due to the risk. Then this year we had the hottest temperature on record (hotter than Texas has ever gotten). And now we have 6 days of snow and freezing weather (coldest in 50 years) when we are usually in the 40s. I imagine these wild events will only get more common though, especially out west where we are in perpetual drought (this snow and rain actually will be amazing for the next summer though).

Decided to Start playing Good Job as a way something while college football is on. Have to say this game is fun. Nintendo really needs to bring out more small eshop titles like they did with the 3DS (and lesser extent WiiU). Mostly they’re have been riding the full retail release train during the Switch life span. I guess we have so many indies they might not feel the need (plus most of their eshop switch games have been from other developers).

Good Job and The Stretchers are actually both made by pretty small studios and were seemingly just either funded or picked up by Nintendo. Nintendo doesn't even have time for Big Brain Academy or Brain Age anymore, these eShop titles are way outside of their current focus

One thing I hate about us Canadians? We copy the bad ideas of Americans often

:/
ohhh yeah we’ve been having a fucking day about this over here

and also the “10 day isolation only applies to immunocompromised people I guess idk lol” rule like… they’re just making up random shit at this point

we should be in lockdown and we should have meaningful support programs! we’re fucked!

people haven’t been able to get tested in Ontario increasingly all month and now almost no one can get tested so our data (which still shows us as a skyrocketing death trap!) is gonna be even more inaccurate and ! I’m ! gonna ! lose ! my ! shit

Instead of getting depressed about not getting advertisements in January, we all spend that time playing and appreciating the games we already have?

Who's with me? Anyone? Anybody?
How can anyone be depressed when we just had the year we did, though. Especially with the sales that have been happening!

There's so much to play my time seems utterly destroyed.

Thanks for the much needed laugh lol. Maybe another Nintendo Warriors game is coming? Would be hilarious if we got Fire Emblem Warriors 2 or Xenoblade Warriors instead of mainline entries next year.
If by "hilarious" you mean "heartbreaking," then yes.

Going by trends, the next Warriors game would be in 2023.

That being said......... Ice Climbers Warriors when?

Come to think of it, Mario Warriors would be pretty damn cool. And not that unlikely either, given the million other spinoffs the series has gotten.

Yes.

Their best selling game of all time, I think is Age of Calamity and that's with the BOTW momentum.
Wow I did not realize AoC sold 3.7m (probably closer to 4m by now). That's seriously impressive. But yes, our point stands

In mostly unrelated news, what's everyone's updated guesses for Dread's sales?

I'm going to say 2.5 million, counting the holiday sales. It's Nintendo's big holiday title and got a big marketing push. The signs for it are still surrounding the Switch stand at my work three months later.

okay, so say we get the Mina timeline and it's a January Mini with a March general

here's what I'm thinking for the thread:
  • the thread obviously continues after the mini. people will be restless
  • Team January will win. the teams event will end and the raffle will be drawn. If people want we can do another for February or March
  • the league... I have no idea. Right now I'm thinking we would count the mini and eventual (assumed) general together and score at the end. if there is no general before the end of the season we would just count the mini

please let me know your thoughts on this stuff

Which would be weird, Nintendo exosystem have give them their best selling games of all time and constant million sellers.
Sort of. Technically yes they gave them big success, but they don't own the IPs so it doesn't help the company's net worth and identity compared to Nioh for example. The sales are good but is it cheating if they just ape an already mega famous franchise? Age of Calamity is basically a Nintendo game. Nioh which is a big successful franchise on PS4 is entirely original, fully owned, all Koei Tecmo

I think Koei Tecmo's next game will try to cash in on internet culture the way so many companies try to do now.

The title:
Keyboard Warriors

Success is success and they as as developer are known among Nintendo fans.

I hope no one takes any of this so seriously that they disagree with technicalities of who wins

Speaking of Twitter drops, we could also get the release date for a potential other March game. In 2019 Yoshi's Crafted World was dated for March 29 in a random Twitter post on January 8.

DAMMIT I saw the tweet before I read the words and for two seconds lost my shit about a new Yoshi shadowdropping

like I automatically assumed it was Woolly World for Switch and got so excited
