I feel like I've been unclear about my stance on discussing ResetEra in the past, so I'd like to take the convenient opportunity to do so. The only sort of ResetEra post that really bothers me is the kind that @Ozzie posted (sorry for using you as an example). Posting that a thread is going poorly or chastising their opinions from afar is so worthless and honestly just rude. It reminds me of the Discord culture that has been a problem since ResetEra's inception and directly contributed to the creation of Famiboards.

Half of you guys seem to still read ResetEra and even post there, so go fight them there! There's nothing for us to do here other than be judgmental towards the most harshly-judged website on the internet, deserved or not.

My cousin and his wife are on a cruise. They're not very smart people. They are boosted thankfully and they have been doing Covid tests up to the day of their cruise but they have been so desperate to go on this cruise which they originally planned for 2 years ago they just fucking went.

Grezzo working on Mother/Earthbound would be odd. Not that I don't think they have the skill to do it. They do. But for a series so wrapped up in paper work, it seems like a stretch that the series would be entrusted to a third party studio mostly known for Zelda remakes.

Hmmmm....this is a tempting offer. HDive doesn't have a whole lot of new stuff that I'm super interested in but it does have a nice backlog of shows that are not on other streaming services. I think I'll probably bite.

Yeah it’s 2 bucks a month, and they’ve got a really solid mecha lineup, they even have Big O, Lightan, Ideon and Xabungle! They’re getting the Lupin part 1 dub and they’ve got a couple other exclusive dubs on some of the non exclusive anime. And then you got some random cool stuff like Garo which is a live action mature Toku(Ultraman/Kamen rider etc. closer to the early stuff) show. Personally I’m looking forward to watching Godannar and Chifayaharu a go
Also for new stuff you got Getter Robo arc which was awesome(though if not familiar with Getter Robo may be confusing because it’s the finale entry of the 5 entry manga story line).

The idea my parents had was that they would be fully vaccinated and that the cruise would only be open for vaccinated individuals only.

Its obviously not a good idea, but to play devils advocate for a moment, I can understand how tired and frustrated people are with everything

I do hope its safe to take a cruise next year though.

Best not to take Arlo seriously on anything. He doesn't have any insider info on anything. It's more like he casually read the wiki a year ago and listened to twitter to get his ideas for predictions

Agreed. I’d be happy for anything Mother related but a LA style remake seems like a lot of effort for something incredibly niche. NSO releases or a Collection of Mana style ROM dump collection seems much more likely to me.

Like I would legit expect a F-Zero reboot before anything Mother related at this point.

The fact that there still aren't any Mother/Earthbound games on NSO at this point while Nintendo had no problem releasing them on Virtual Console is weird, and it's reason enough for me to suspect that Nintendo is preparing something in regards to the series. It doesn't have to be an ultra-ambitious project.

Anyone else excited about Freddi Fish and Putt-Putt coming to Switch? Hopefully this is the start of a bunch of Humongous titles coming to the Switch. I know they are literal kids games, but the nostalgia runs DEEP with these ones for me. Got most of them in cereal boxes back in the day.

Agreed, I'm far more excited for Triangle Strategy, the next SaGa, and whatever remasters SE has cooking up then FFXVI and Forspoken.

I know you mean well, but we really need to stop bringing that place up here. This community separated from there for a reason and we should just leave it behind and focus on fostering our new pad without the toxicity of the old. It's been obvious that without the influence of this community all Nintendo-related discussion at the old place just become dens for snark and console warring and if I could I would tell the few that try to keep a balance over there that it's a lost cause and they should abandon ship. Let that place become the Playstation-focused forum it was meant to be and we'll make this the best Nintendo-focused one it can be (with some non-toxic discussion of other platforms as well).

I also hope we get more news on that new Etrian Odyssey game Atlus teased about years back now that SMTV is complete. Sure there are several dungeon crawlers on the Switch, but none of them have quite scratched that itch like Etrian Odyssey.

A new Etrian Odyssey would be great. But speaking of dungeon crawlers, what I really want at this point is just an English version of Labyrinth of Galleria, especially now that it's on Switch. It was finally freed from the Vita, now we just need a localization!

An Earthbound remake makes a ton of sense right now. It looks like Nintendo is using remakes to test market viability for old IP's (2D Metroid (Samus Returns), Famicom Detective Club, Advance Wars) and I could easily see Earthbound being next. Have a feeling F-Zero is on the way too (although it would probably be a remaster of the Gamecube version). I know some people don't like remakes, but this is a best case scenario IMO.

Collection of Mana
The Mana series is undoubtedly one of my biggest blind spots in JRPG history! So it felt good to pick this up at a discount and have a shot at rectifying that. Only a little bit into the first game so far, Final Fantasy Adventure. More interesting as a history lesson than a game, at least for now, but I’m not necessarily opposed to that for a while. Might move onto the Mana games proper before finishing it up.

This is great, I'm excited for you. Trials of Mana is one of the greatest 16-bit RPGs of all time.

Yes, I really enjoyed Labyrinth of Refrain so I'll be there for Galleria. Although I hope the "true" ending isn't as grindy as Refrain, I gave up on that in the end and looked it up on YouTube.

Iirc, Canada is not permitting cruise ships to leave from Canada, but they will allow other countries cruise ships into Canada. America though? They're going all in......

Itoi has said he has no plans for a new entry and would prefer someone else make it. I would expect Nintendo to respect that decision, while fans and indies continue to make new works inspired by the series.

Re: F-zero… I still want to see an X/GX/AX compilation with the X tracks updated to the GX/AX standard. Along with adding the construction kit tracks.

We did it out of seattle for Alaskan cruises, which is probably top 5 in the country for Covid restrictions. Once congress allowed foreign flagged vessels to skip foreign ports on round trip sailings, they opened that shit up quick. Maybe Canada change the porting rules when BC/the Maritimes were getting bypassed? Gotta get that tourism money I guess even though these ships are essentially plague factories with people dispersing everywhere. At least the lines mandated vaccines, but that’s mostly easy for people to get around if they don’t want them. I’ve been against cruise travel forever though since it’s basically a cesspool of GI viruses.

yea, we seen that F-Zero's fan demand alone doesn't do much of anything. while F-Zero is still at the forefront of some of the their devs, someone still has to make a bid for a full game. a remaster could work, but GX's code is probably sitting in Sega's archives somewhere. if they even still have it

I literally just had my neighbor say I was a bad parent for having my kids wear masks in the store and at school, which happen to be mandated right now. He also knows I’ve spent the whole pandemic doing public health, so I’m the most knowledgeable about the real world effects. I won’t completely cut him off right now because I’m the only source of good info and have delusions he might actually believe something one day.

In regard to the tweet, feel bad for the nurses who are getting shit on on both ends right now (from admin and patients). It’s not just Covid patients, which actually are down from a few months ago (where I’m at at least), but the total volume of patients that didn’t get care in the last two years. That stuff is catching up (not to mention the years of issues caused by the general state of the healthcare system).

I won't lie, I enjoyed cruising from the two times I've gone (Obviously pre covid). They were Carribean cruises and I enjoyed the sights, food and just overall atmosphere.

Although, I still prefer standard resorts and after my parents almost died on the second-to -last time they went (They received free tickets), I've been hesitant on going back on.

If I had kids and some idiot neighbor said I was a bad parent for protecting them, I tell them to eat shit and to never come near my kids ever again. Grandparents need to be told that they are not seeing their grandchildren until they get the shot. Idiot brothers in laws need to be told they are not invited to the holiday family gathers. No shot, no friend dinners or hangouts. If you get covid and end up on the hospital, you'll get no hospital visits. Your friends and family will watch you die through a webcam. The soil will be thankful for your contribution.

It might seem harsh but people are too selfish and too pathetic to toughen up to take a shot in the arm, the people who do want to protect themselves and others need to draw a line in the sand. If we have to inconvenient ourselves, then so do they.
