Rumour Luigi mansion 2 and Paper Mario thousand year door announcement VERY SOON - Pyoro?

I’m fairly sure Pyoro doesn’t know when the release dates are being announced. But he does know that they’ve been updated on the eshop server side, so will be ‘soon’.

Could be today! His wording “Mario Day falls on a Sunday this year but…” seems to imply whatever is happening with those games could be earlier.
Couldn't it also mean the announcement is Monday? You can still tie the announcements into the general Mar10 celebration if it's the day after.

either think it's going to be announced very early on in the morning (2AM my time) so I wake up to the announcement, or it's going to be at 2PM/11PM JST. Feel like those are the only two options at this point in time?

I’m a bit surprised this thread is so dead considering many are expecting an announcement tomorrow. Is it just that people are waiting until tomorrow, or is there a general lack of excitement over these potential announcements? I’d think there would at least be some chatter lol

I, for one, am really excited for TTYD and praying for a bigger trailer tomorrow! Here’s hoping for new content and a release date!

Yup I'm excited to see more of TTYD and Luigi's Mansion 2 HD because I have never played either of them. Hope we get trailers and release dates tomorrow and I hope they release sooner then later. Ready to preorder them! :)

I feel like it's probably just people waiting to see what happens tomorrow!! I also feel like since we are mainly just expecting to see things that we know from the games, while it will be really exciting, there isn't really much to predict in that regard unless we are also expecting some sort of surprise tomorrow as well! :)

However, I feel like the one thing I could ask in anticipation for tomorrow is what's everyone's predictions for the release months for both games? We've discussed this a lot already but any final predictions?

People don't expect the announcement until sometime later this week (imo) and these aren't very interesting titles.

Luigi's Mansion 2 is just a very  meh part of this year's lineup for me only because I've already played it, and I still own my 3DS copy. Don't get me wrong, it's a good game! I just don't have any interest in replaying it. I'm also sort of surprised they are re-releasing it instead of the original Luigi's Mansion, but whatever.

Paper Mario TTYD, on the other hand, is very exciting to me. I played the original on NSO a few months ago and really liked it. Assuming TTYD is the same thing (but better), I'm in for a treat when it releases. Hoping we get that release date ASAP.

I do want to add that I am kind of expecting to see some sort of news on the games tomorrow due to Nintendo being pretty active this weekend in terms of their social media posts due to Mario Day! The only thing that I feel like is holding me off completely is just that most gaming media probably wouldn't do any major reporting on the games until Monday in the West

Not much to say that hasn’t been brought up for months already. Only so much speculation you can do for a remaster and a remake.

as interested as I am in TTYD(it's probably like a top 10 or so nostalgia title all time for me) there's only so excited I can get over getting a release date soon for a game that was already announced to be coming out this year

i'm definitely intrigued by the possibility of some new content being added to it though and would love to see more about that if it's a thing that exists

I'm interested to learn more about both of these games but for some reason don't think they're gonna announce them on a Sunday.

Then again, Nintendo is best at being unpredictable...

Good question. I’ll say June for Luigi and August for TTYD!

TTYD is an excellent game, probably among my top 3 games of all time. @Gengar I personally consider it to be far better than the original, and that’s coming from someone who really enjoyed the original! :D

Say what you will about LM2, but as an avid Paper Mario fanboy, I’m gonna have to hardcore disagree about TTYD lol

I'm interested to learn more about both of these games but for some reason don't think they're gonna announce them on a Sunday.

It’s the Pyoro tweet that’s making me expect tomorrow. Normally I’d never expect a Sunday announcement, but Pyoro’s making me think they might surprise us…

It would be a little abnormal still, but if the announcement is in 24 hours it would be Monday for Nintendo in Japan which is a little more understandable. We'll see how this plays out though.

Late May or June for Paper Mario; Luigi's Mansion in June or July.

There are some implications that TTYD has been done since before it was even announced; despite LM2HD being teased three months earlier I think TTYD is far more likely to release first. Luigi's Mansion getting a Summer window while TTYD was stuck with a vague "2024" may make some think otherwise, but it's no different from Xenoblade Definitive Edition being given a vague "2020"; they're both about to recieve their release date in March too, so if TTYD truly is in Late May like I believe they would mirror each other perfectly.

As for why i'm leaning towards Late May in particular; Endless Ocean taking such an unopportune and abnormal Thursday release date in the middle of Golden Week makes me think they're leaving space for another game later in the month. If not TTYD, my lowkey likely alternative would be a rerelease of DKCR, ahead or around the opening of Donkey Kong Country at Universal Japan. Could be something revealed on short notice in the rumored April Direct should it pan out.

Normally I wouldn't expect anything tomorrow, Sunday, but it seems Nintendo have been pretty active the last few days and we got announcements even today so we 100% get something tomorrow. It could very well be related to LM2 and TTYD.

Predictions:
Luigi in June, TTYD in October

But I'd love it if Paper Mario is before summer.

My main interest in these is seeing how early in the year they land, which will be telling as to what they have lined up for the rest of 2024

I really hope we get these informations, today. I want a date for Luigi's Mansion 2 and Paper Mario TTYD :)

This would be a good time before the Nintendo Direct in April (if it's still scheduled).

I disagree. TTYD is exciting. It's just too distant right now for people to care about it. It's all relative.

There's nothing to postulate or speculate about with it (Unless we are lucky and it has new content...or even a hard mode?). But when it comes around to release, people will clamor about it again.

and Luigi's Mansion 2 is...okay. It's short IIRC. I always felt like the first two feel like tech demos compared to 3.

Yeah as far as these announcements go.. I'm guessing it won't be today (Sunday) It'll be sometime this week.

Yeah these aren't exactly day one games for me, so I'm not that hungry to know their release dates.

I'm more interested in what's new and what's next; rather than rereleases

Luigi's mansion 2 actually has a longer average time to beat than 3 does.

It's very much a full game unlike 1 which is as you say almost a tech demo (and like... 3 hours long for a given playthrough?)

They could do some things to make the Mar10 day exciting. Aside from dates for LM2 HD and TTYD, they could shadowdrop the first Luigi's Mansion like they did with Pikmin. Also it would be nice to have a NSO update adding Super Mario Land and Wario Land 1-2.

I'm still expecting a Mario Movie 2 announcement.

More than the date, I want to know why LM is a full price game so hope we get a proper overview trailer.

Only in the UK (and Commonwealth countries I think) tho. Nearly all other countries have Mother's Day in May.
We have to hear "no news today because it's Lincoln's Graduation Day" or something like that every couple of months from US posters, I think it's only fair that we get to expect news no for our local holidays too!

/s obvs, Nintendo don't actually care

No matter what type of news we get today, Happy Mario Day to you all! I hope you all enjoy the day! :)

Oh shoot I forgot about daylight savings which means it would be shown at 10am EST not 9am EST. Blarg one more hour.

Edit: nvm lol
