Yeah we didn't even get a winter in my neck of the woods this year, I was literally going for walks after dark with no coat and it was extremely pleasant, and by mid-February I was having to turn the AC on in my car because it was too warm. People have been saying it's been soooo nice this season and they're so happy it hasn't been cold and it's so weird to have to explain to them what it means when winter isn't cold anymore ๐Ÿ˜…

Btw on the same subject, anyone see the shit unfolding in the Texas panhandle? Can't wait to hear them spin that as California's fault

I saw your posts about a Chrono trigger remake. Please let me dream. It was one of my favorite games in a awhile even though it was the ps1 version. I should try either that steam version or ds version I now have.

Itโ€™s definitely an all time great and deserves a remake.

I'd like the game with all the added crap from the ports like the anime cutscenes that just repeat the in-game cutscenes or the awful sidequest where you climb up and down a mountain fighting the same encounters twenty times cut out. Maybe replace it with a new sidequest for Ayla to match the others and give the Singing Mountain music a home, but only if they can get the original writers back to make something meaningful.

If they just ported the original game properly with the current English script that would automatically be the best version honestly.

HD2D is pointless because Chrono Trigger already looks better than every HD2D game.

Genuinely, Pixel Remasters. HD-2D is even too far for me. The game is incredibly lovely as-is, just some slightly higher-fidelity sprites and more detailed backgrounds could work wonders.

Yeah I agree. Start with the SNES version instead of the DS one, and as far as the script and monster/item/tech names I'd say give us the option to toggle between the SNES and DS versions but I know they wouldn't ๐Ÿ˜… (I'm just so nostalgic for the original localization that the new one is jarring to me at points)

I would love it to be done in the style of the Switch Link's Awakening remake but more Toriyama/DQ, QOL stuff, and some other remake goodies like mini-games and secret bosses would be neat too. Gosh, I really would love this.

And measles infections is one of the direct causes of long term morbidity and mortality from other infections if you look at the data throughout history. And itโ€™s super preventable! I would rather not go on too big a screed against the anti-vax here but people if you havenโ€™t, check with your physician for an MMR booster or for kids/loved ones. Warning immunity is pretty low if youโ€™ve had 2 doses over time but never hurts to confirm your vaccination status and get boosted in case you missed one a long time ago. Plus newborns and infants canโ€™t get vaccines, so youโ€™ll prevent a potential transmission there via herd immunity.

Yeah that's.. like.. not necessary because the game has both "Active" and "Wait" modes, that are basically ATB and non-ATB. It gives you the choice already.

(Plus ATB gives you the chance to level up and accessory-up to a degree where you can outrun enemy turns and absolutely burn through some mobs and that's fun)

It's been a long time since I've played Chrono Trigger, but I've never found "wait" to be a good enough substitute for turn based combat. ATB isn't a dealbreaker for me, but I can't think of any situation where I've preferred it.
 
Iโ€™m probably not going to get to Triangle Strategy until after I play Unicorn Overlord, but I wonder if I should play Live A Live before I start up Octopath 2

I always have preferred it but I don't quite know why? Maybe because CT and the ATB-era Final Fantasy games were such a large part of forming my RPG love that the system just clicks with me. I understand a lot of people don't like it though so I would hope something could be done to make both sides happy. If they ever actually do anything with it. ๐Ÿ˜…
 
Just wrapped up Kotobukiya's Dagarn-X kit. It's super solid overall. I'm actually pretty impressed(but modern Kotobukiya licensed stuff seems solid enough overall for that matter. Still have Siren in the backlog). Only things missing color separation aren't huge, on the actual main build just a tiny bit on the wings(but even Bandai can be spotty on that) the other is the sword but eh those always take a hit. There's an extra set of the train headlights in yellow as a bonus, but I didn't realize and the default is fine
