Are we sure a bunch of people are not just jumping on this just because? For the publicity lol
Maybe people see the story and come forward? I know that happens sometimes. From "My own sources can't corroborate to the delay" to "multiple thirds now definitely time me suddenly", huh?
I don't believe this anymore.
What's most puzzling about this and I'm seeing no discussion about is why would they delay it to Q1 in the first place? Switch was delayed from a holiday 2016 launch because, as far as we know, the games weren't ready. Is the first year lineup once again just not ready? Something else going on?
The only way to cheer me up right now lol.Cool. Can I still have Fire Emblem Remake 4 this year?
1. This doesn't matter since the 3DS was aimed more at core gamers than the casuals. This argument was also disproven with the Switch success. What?
The 3DS' disappointing financial performance was caused by
1. Apple simply taking most of Nintendo's casual audience from the DS.
2. The 3DS was more expensive to manufacture than optimal because of the 3D screen and consumers didn't care about 3D.
3. The 3DS struggled to get western third-party games due to various factors
4. The 3DS' launch lineup was horrible
5. Nintendo didn't have enough developers to consistently make new big games for the 3DS (as they had to make WiiU games as well and the WiiU games were usually Nintendo's main focus)
The 3DS reveal scheduling was fine.
It really doesn't make any sense. They don't have games for rest of the year and if they wanted something to announce they would make a usual General Direct.Answer me this:
If Nintendo was so short stocked/panicked on software and had to delay everything to accommodate, then why didn't they hold onto Super Mario Wonder? Switch didn't need Wonder last year with TotK, Fire Emblem Engage, Pikmin 4, SMRPG, Pokemon, Xenoblade Future Redeemed, Mario Kart DLC, Advance Wars, etc? Could have used that for Switch 2 as a cross-platform game if they're so desperate.
Or better yet, why are they clumping/releasing most of their first party lineup in the first 3 months of 2024 when software is already anemic? Another Code, Mario VS Donkey Kong, Princess Peach Showtime, Splatoon 3 Side Order. Then to have to resort to a partner direct when there's only 2 remasters left on your plate, no original games for the rest of 2024 and with no release dates on said games, sounds ingenious.
It doesn't make sense, I don't buy these rumors.
This is the only thing I can think of as well. 3D Mario was not ready yet.I mean there's also a chance that they want to have enough stock at launch, or to give publishers more time to get their games on the Switch 2.
It could also be a very-specific game that had a release date pushed, like the next 3D Mario or Mario Kart entry.
This already seems like a comedy. LolFrom "My own sources can't corroborate to the delay" to "multiple thirds now definitely time me suddenly", huh?
I don't believe this anymore.
I'm guessing that we get those "back pocket" games coming this year then if this bears out. Wind Waker/Twilight Princess, FE4 Remake, Prime 2/3. Maybe some of the rumored games like F-Zero GX remaster or Bandai's 3D action remake (Kid Icarus? Although I would prefer that for new hardware). Sucks.
The silver lining is we might have killer Black Friday deals this year, maybe. If this is true then I imagine they'll have to finally do a price cut.
it must have been a last minute delay, literally the last couple of weeks then. wonder if it leaks then, would be nice.
the only source Brazil had about it said April for the revealIf it's a factory delay, then I'm sure the reveal will be delayed as well.
How did that work out for the 3DS?Selling 140 million Switch and billions of software.
can they tell factories to pump the breaks for a bit or is this something that's already set in stone and they will have all their shit leakIf it's a factory delay, then I'm sure the reveal will be delayed as well.
If it's a software launch delay, then I'm sure the reveal will hold steadfast for a March reveal if production is planned to start after the lunar new year.
why are u acting like the 3ds was a wii u tier failureHow did that work out for the 3DS?
That's exactly what it isMaybe people see the story and come forward? I know that happens sometimes.
This already seems like a comedy. Lol
It's fucking over wow
can they tell factories to pump the breaks for a bit or is this something that's already set in stone and they will have all their shit leak
I'm not talking about your post. I'm talking about the rumor situation. Is there a problem with my post?
Here's what Eurogamer and VGC were saying back in 2021. Very likely they're totally wrong again this time.
It just seems like a recipe for disaster from a sales perspective. Reveal Switch 2 one full year (or nearly) ahead of release in enough detail to control the narrative about hardware, then they have to strike a balance between giving info about the Switch 2 (because everyone will be asking for more and more and more information) and trying to refocus the public's attention on a thin spread of Switch 1 games that were never meant to carry the year. From my understanding, productions are "scheduled" so unless the delay comes from the factory itself because it's overbooked or behind on production, I don't think Nintendo can just say "nah hold off for a month please"
That's why if the production was planned for right after factories get back up and running after lunar new year, a march reveal is almost necessary to get ahead of leaks.
Q1 2026 it is!It still ain't launching in Q1 2025, I don't care how many "sources" will report on it. I felt into these traps multiple times.
Selling less than half of the DS was a failure. Just like how most people would say the PS3 was a failure with how much it sold much less than the PS2.why are u acting like the 3ds was a wii u tier failure
I don’t think this delay would be because of that. VGC’s report says they need more time developing first party software.Gotta be honest after seeing how well TotK and Wonder sold last year I figured they would stretch the lifecycle of the Switch. This makes sense.
